Poor telephone manner

Despite me telling the caller very politely that we had considered their offering and concluded it was not for us they did not respond but simply hung up.
This is not the approach of a genuine trustworthy organisation. With a rating of 50% BAD i would recommend avoiding them

My brother had a policy with Promis Life. They were fantastic when he passed away. Paid out quickly over the Christmas period. The customer service staff were caring an thoughtful in their interactions with myself and my sister and helped us immensely. Thank you. I have and will continue to recommend this company for life insurance. 10/10.

Insulting

Who in their right mind signed off on an advert for your company featuring Debbie Mcgee. It’s insulting to hear a millionaire talk about not leaving her family to pay for her funeral. Please use people we can actually believe would struggle to pay for a funeral

Dear Stuart

I am sorry you don’t like our TV advert. I can’t comment on Debbie McGee’s financial position but the message behind the ad is, we believe, that as a nation we don’t tend to talk about or make arrangements in regards to our funeral plans. This can lead to loved ones footing the bill. Whatever the financial situation money for a funeral is often needed in a short period of time. Money which might not be easily accessed by family members. With our 48 hour claim promis we guarantee that the money will be with the chosen person in 2 business days once all documentation is received.

Best wishes

From £5:00 a month my foot

From £5:00 a month my foot. £10,000 cover is over £30:00 a month. I didn't even bother to look what £5:00 would have got me. Cheaper to pay the money into a funeral plan. Their reply,

The price we quote on our adverts is used as a guide and is indicative for an average customer. It would be impossible to list every combination of age and cover amount.

In other words, if I started paying when I was about 2 years old the premiums might be affordable, ha ha.

And, their grammar 'ain't' all that good either. "cover mount you require."

Dear Martin,

As with any life insurance product the premium amount is completely dependent on your age and the cover amount you require. The price we quote on our adverts is used as a guide and is indicative for an average customer. It would be impossible to list every combination of age and cover amount. But our website does allow you to enter your age and play around with the cover amounts to find a price that you can afford.

We pay out a cash sum, within 48 hours, to loved ones that they can spend how they wish – be it a funeral, outstanding bills or something more fun. With a funeral plan you do not have this flexibility and of course funeral plans have varying degrees of price structures and monthly premium amounts that will also be dependent on personal circumstances and requirements.

Best wishes
Tom

PS Thanks Martin for the spell check. Its good to know somebody is reading.

Dispicable company

Just seen the advertisement about popping your cloggs. This advertisement seems a bit dated in light of this terrible pandemic, having a sense of humour is all fine and good for the right ocassion death certainly isn't one of them this advertisement is insensitive. To company that makes money from funerals this disgraceful. I hope you keep this advertisement on television so people can see what a dispicable bunch of people you are.

Dear Robert, I am sorry to hear you find our advert troubling. It is not our intention to cause offence. The TV advert is designed to shine a light on the fact that as a nation we don't feel comfortable talking about death. So much so that we use all sorts of euphemism's rather than say the word. But actually at any time we believe we should discuss our final arrangements. We want people to consider who would pay for their funeral when they pass. And alert people to the fact funerals may cost more than they think. We sell life insurance and don't make any money from funerals. We are very proud of our 4.7/5 Feefo customer satisfaction rating and just this week we have been awarded a Gold Trusted Service award suggesting our customers are on the whole very happy with the service we provide.
Best wishes

Please STOP calling

From Mrs Howcroft. Last year I received a pop up advertisement for Promise life and didn’t see any harm in requesting a quote. I received a call from one of your agents and went through the quote process.
I decided that I didn’t want to go ahead and we ended the call.
I have now been bombarded by calls between 2-4times a day there have been no messages left on my answer machine and I have blocked the number but I still receive calls which I won’t answer.
Please Please will you remove my number from you call list.

I have just seen your TV advert - Yawn

Scaremongering, insensitive and ridiculous TV advert (two affluent gentleman, (one aged about 50) that are not short of a few pounds)) - letter delivered to neighbour that sparks off conversation about life insurance and the cost of a funeral - Yeah right - gives us a break please! Don't you realise that we are in the middle of a pandemic? The advert is simply not representational in anyway. Sack your marketing agent.

Dear Stuart,
Of course we are very aware and sensitive to the current situation. We have made changes to where and how we advertise. But we are also aware that as a nation we don’t talk about death and our final wishes to our loved ones. And this can mean that some people don’t make appropriate arrangements for their funeral, leaving their family to pick up the bill. Our product is designed to allow people to make suitable arrangements meaning their family or loved ones will have a cash lump sum as a gift when they pass. The advert tries to convey that message. I have no idea how well off the actors are but I am glad you picked up some of the points the ad was trying to make. I will certainly pass your feedback to the marketing team.

Tom

Your attitude

I had earlier reviewed you, not happy with constant phone call's from you and mail.
I agreed that l had shown initial interest some time ago, but had no interest anymore.
You or we slightly disputed the number of times, you had called on any particular day and wasn't to happy with the tone of your reply.
I edited my review to you, but l would just like to add that 50% of your reviews are deemed " bad ", and after reading through them, there are many that had the same complaint as myself, in regards to getting several call's that had annoyed them !!
One word that was used was " badgering ", so surely we all can't be wrong !
Maybe read them again and at 50% of reviews that are bad, l wonder why ????
Your colleague "Tom", whom answers customer reviews, seems to have an answer, for everyone !!
What a guy !!!!!.!!!

Dear Ruth,
Just to advise we only call people who have shown an interest in our products and have supplied their contact details. We don't use different numbers to try and speak to people. This would only happen if two or more separate enquiries are made . I can't glean much from your details to be able to check our system but if you only made one enquiry you would have only been called on one number.

Fab service

I have looked at a lot of policies lately and these ticked the boxes. I looked at Aviva for eg but you have to choose number of years etc. Me and Hubby are in our 30’s so choosing 25 years is no good. We would spend 25 years paying than not be covered before 60!! Similarly we looked at funeral plans but they were caught up with one funeral company which seemed risky plus they were too expensive in the short term. We are in our 30’s with 3 young kids and the plan is not to have them burdened when we die! I filled form online but didn’t go on as couldn’t add inflation protection, got a call from lovely lady who discussed it all. No amount of questions were too much for her and she explained all options. We got a discount for multiple plan and we are both covered for over £10,000 with inflation protection for less than £30 a month. It’s less than the cost of a meal at the pub for the 5 of us!! Looking at the reviews I’m shocked but they all seem to be about calls, I have found them fab! I am not a naive person, I am a pensions advisor for the NHS so I know how death benefits work etc so not had wool pulled over my eyes. Personally it was the best most affordable option for us to make sure each other and the kids are looked after and not burdened if anything happened! Yeah we are young but I lost a parent aged 40 so it’s never to early to plan for it

Dear Lisa,
Many thanks for taking the time to post your experience and I am very happy that it sounds like you have the peace of mind you require . I shall pass your feedback to the rest of the team. We are very proud of our 4.7/5 stars we have with Feefo. Our score there is from actual customers who have had a genuine experience with us, and bought a policy. Worth noting in regards to the negative comments you might see on TrustPilot that unfortunately there is no verification that these are genuine customers or feedback. We only ever call people who have given us their telephone number in order for us to contact them about their enquiry into our products. Thanks again, Tom

Tv advert.

Tv advert. Kicking the bucket? Biting the dust? Seriously? Do you have any respect for elderly? Passing away would be a better choice. The advert is offensive, childish, should not represent a serious company like yourself.

Dear Andrea
I am sorry you don't like our TV ad and it's certainly not our intention to cause offence.

Our advertising campaign was developed because we felt as a nation we don’t talk enough with our friends and loved ones about death and specifically, finances, in relation to when we pass away.

It is something that a number of charities and and other organisations also believe:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/health-fitness/end-of-life-care/talking-about-death/
https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/blog/why-do-we-need-to-talk-more-about-dying-and-death/259787
https://www.independentage.org/we-need-to-talk-about-death/talking-about-death/why-you-should-never-be-too-polite-to-talk-about-death

In fact we use lots of euphemisms for the word ‘death’ which is where our campaign idea came from. We noticed that people in the UK are more comfortable using terms like ‘pushing up the daises’, ‘kicking the bucket’ etc so we played on that to try and spark the debate between us and our loved ones.

Nobody likes talking about death and we appreciate it’s a sensitive subject at any time but we are also aware it’s inevitable and surely it’s better to talk about it and make the appropriate arrangements with our loved ones before the event?

We certainly didn’t use terms like 'kicking the bucket' and 'biting the dust' to be frivolous or trivialise the subject. We just wanted to ensure people at least consider thinking about their passing and how it might effect their family beyond the pain and grief.

Regards
Tom

Good service when you speak to them but!!!

Good service when you speak to them, though didn't receive first set of documents and had to request duplicates.
I've had a policy with them for over two years and topped it up in April this year also taking out a policy for my wife. I'm paying £50pm in total.
Promised a £100 Argos voucher when I took out my wife's policy in April with first payment 01/05/20. So in my mind voucher due early October after six months payments.
Now told to allow up to 8 weeks after six months payments made! They should have made this clear when offering the incentive.
Not a big deal for me as I'm sure will get it. Just being given ear ache by my wife as she wants a new tablet or something with the Argos voucher.

We are in Covid-crisis and lockdown and…

We are in Covid-crisis and lockdown and yet here we go - some very sad "B" list celebrity (Debbie Magee) talking about us "kicking the bucket?" Why so? Is there any decency left in the western world? WE ARE IN COVID 19 - Sars and yet "Promis Life" is uncaring to those found sick, with such a weird pitch! (An oxymoron, if you like, as "Promise Life" is actually promising us death!) A sick and extraordinary company advert! Get it off and show some respect and dignity for those losing their loved ones!

Dear Marko

We think long and hard before any marketing goes live. And of course we are acutely aware of sensitivities at the moment. But the creative is designed to challenge us, as a nation, to speak about something that people traditionally find difficult hard to talk about – death.
We thinks it’s important that people are prepared so they can help those left behind deal with any financial repercussions. We believe this is important at any time, now in these uncertain times ,and also n the future.

Very dissatisfied with you

Very dissatisfied with you, despite the current covid19 pandemic , and so many people being on furlough payments . You are the only direct debit paid company that has not offered a payment holiday until i am in a position to get back on an even keel . Sorry to tell you this but you are not a priority in my life at present , yet you bombard me with phone calls , emails and letters . My priorities are keeping a roof over my head and food in my cupboards. Like I said very disappointed
