The card arrived but when I tried to…

The card arrived but when I tried to activate it , it said the card number was invalid. So I contacted customer support and next day they said try again. It looked like they had activated the card for me but it did not have a pin number. I told them this and the next day they said try again. But nothing had changed. I contacted them for a third time and had no response. I then tried to call them on the number on the letter and was told it was an invalid number. Then I saw all the other bad reviews. So we decided not to use them and have cancelled the account without using it.

Trying to update my card after it…

Trying to update my card after it expired. It won't let me because my new card has the same long number as the old one. I have emailed the customer services so we'll see how I get on, as I have an outstanding payment to make which I want to get shot of as soon as possible. All my other renewals since getting my new card have been fine, just this one.

I applied for a card months ago but…

I applied for a card months ago but never received it. I like many others have been spammed with hundreds of text messages and weekly fuel price updates. Having complained a few times about not receiving my card I have then been receiving emails saying I’ve not paid - when I haven’t even had a card! The matter is apparently now being referred to a debt collection agency. I’ve tried to call but can find no number and emails remain unanswered. Shocking company, AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

No customer care!

All was well for a few weeks then I filled up one day only to be told that my card was showing as stolen.which obviously it wasn't. Luckily I had the means to pay with another card. Although very embarrassing. I have tried phoning pump-king to no avail & have emailed them about 6 times but no response. Their email address is customer care - what a joke.
The caravan club who advertised the card need to find another company.

Stay well away from this company absolutely awful

Stay well away from this company. They have tried to take out payments on random dates and not straight away as i was under the impression of and i mean months later. Contact number doesnt work and get no response from emails. Had 3 phone calls over the span of 3 months and arranged a date for payment to come out, no payments taken on date but then attempted on a completely different date 6 weeks later. Emailed numerous times, had one man call me on an unknown number just to leave me a voice message saying its pump king with no other details or number to call back on 🤦‍♀️. Now been passed onto a collection company ‘apparently’ although im yet to hear but hopefully i can actually speak to someone and arrange payment and be done with it! Also tried to charge me a extra £67 but wouldn't explain what for. Stay well clear.
Update: 14/8/19. After posting my original review the company tried to take payments daily multiple times a day (up to 4 attempts in one day) over the span of 2/3 weeks. Multiple emails sent saying they are handing over to debt collection agency, still waiting to hear from them. Number on emails still not in use. Have had no correspondence from them since. Officially given up.

Good start but no....avoid

I have recommended this too so many people and thought it was great but oh no, avoid. All was good until my current card expired, they tried to take payment and it declined as I had not updated it. I got a text to inform me and the next day updated my bank details and emailed them to advise I had, no reply.. standard. Then a day later I get another text saying account terminated as another payment declined and my debt passed to debt collection. I have emailed twice since, got no reply and there is no working phone number to make contact

If I could give a -5 I would.
From start to finish an utter farce. Since receiving a card that actually works (well it’s meant to but I’ve not used it as I’m yet to see a saving compared to forecourt price) it’s been a joke. From being spammed with 100 plus text messages within the space of 2 hours (thanks Pumpking) to receiving the weekly prices (I’d have to drive in excess of 200 miles to be able to actually make a saving...) I now can’t access my account to close it-error message stating no email address linked to any account. WTAF??!! Emails are very rarely responded to. If they are the responses are extremely abrupt on the verge of being rude. It seems I’m not the only one unable to log in. Great service Pumpking, you should be proud. Not. Sort this shambolic mess out

Shambolic Non Existent Customer Services

What an utter disgrace. After waiting months for the MyEsso card when it did pitch up a few months ago I was spammed in excess of over one hundred texts in one day advising of fuel prices. No choice but to block number. Used card twice for small quantities of £10 fuel and my debit card was debited about three days later.

I used the MyEsso card on 31st May 2019 for another £10 purchase and today, 11 days later it has still not debited from my debit card. I don't think anything surprises me with this shambolic outfit. No reply to emails. Published telephone number reports "You have dialled an incorrect number". Does the company actually exist? I note that they have a very aggressive Debt Collection policy of passing your account to their Debt Collection Agency in as little as ten days if they cannot debit your card. My debit card is active in a funded account so no problem on my end. Judging by the amateurish way this company operate and the lack of will in allowing to be contacted I don't think they give two hoots about customers. I have complained to Blue Light Card whom I obtained the offer through, although I note they no longer advertise them as an offer. Too many complaints of people being charged twice, spammed, no response to emails, uncontactable by phone, I presume was enough for BLC to see sense. Now if only Pump King (which is the administrator (hah!)) can see sense, things may improve. I have recommended to all my ex-service friends to avoid the grief this company (Pump King) dishes out and for me I will Gladly purchase Shell Fuel but I will never have my car(s) fuelled by Esso ever again. I am not even convinced they will cancel my account properly. How bizarre in this day and age that a company don't want to be contacted when a customer actually wants to PAY their bill. Personally, I hope they shut up shop good and proper very, very soon. Watch this space to see if any meaningful response from Esso, Pump King or whatever they are called now.

I was put off due to these negative reviews however on the CAMC forum page mosts reviews are great so I decided to give it a try. I got my card after 4 days and have since signed up and save over £12.00 on Diesel. Unleaded savings were only about 2p though at my local garage, still 2p is better than nothing as I am yet to see any hidden charges. I have just arrived for a tour of the East Coast and checked if I could use my card here, I was told that it is only available for use in the UK & EU :(

Overall a great service so far ...

I want to give 5 stars but reluctant until I see how well the accounts are managed. I'll be keeping a close eye out but no complaint so far and got mine via caravan club. I suppose it depends on the markets really but saves me hunting around. The further from London the more expensive fuel gets. This way I know how much it will cost before we head away. Doesnt matter what it says on the pump just pull in to an esso station and the price is guaranteed. I notice that diesel users will do better as it looks like that's where the money is balanced. Always very little difference between either fuel.

Pump-King without authorisation took money from my account.

Pump-King without authorisation took money from my account on the 17th April.
I am still waiting for a refund one month later. They asked for proof that they had taken the money, I sent then a screenshot of my bank statement. They asked for further proof. My bank sent them details regarding the withdrawal. They then said they had given me a refund but they hadn’t.
They sent me details of the refund but the name, email address and telephone number are a Jason Heath. So I’m guessing he got my refund.
I asked why my personal details are mixed up with some one else. They promised to investigate and give me an explanation by the 10th May. They haven’t.
The CAMC are supposed to help but they are just sending my emails to pump king as I am.
What a mess.

Charged twice!!!

I tried to pay for my fuel at a local Esso with the card. The card was declined twice and then supposedly went through. However, the assistant said that it had then been declined. I had to pay for my fuel on a separate card whilst the queue had built up. Quite embarrassing and not an experience that you need. I have emailed them and am still awaiting an outcome. It has been nearly 2 weeks since the transaction and a week since I emailed them after finding out the payment was taken twice. Such a shambles. Update - Regardless of the comment below, they have received my email a week ago but still have not produced a resolution. I am still waiting to be contacted by anyone to let me know what the issue is with refunding me the amount taken by them incorrectly. Others were promised refunds ASAP, but I am still to receive even an email explaining what the issue is. Completely disgusted. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! Further update - 2 weeks after I emailed and STILL awaiting my refund. All my receipts and proof have been sent in to them at the beginning and still nothing. My last email received (5 days ago) only said that they will let me know when if a refund will happen. Currently it feels like it never will!!! My emails aren't receiving a reply now either. Not happy!

Pointless

After several months still no card. The fuel prices sent to my mobile are consistently 6-7p per litre higher than my local petrol station. They originally advertised beating a lower pump prices by 1p a litre if lower than the discounted rate, this has now changed to matching pump price, well I don't need your card for that as any payment method will match the pump price..

I was conned into having a Pump King…

I was conned into having a Pump King card through Caravan Club.
The idea sounded good, but after 3 months and card arrived they fail to give claimed discounts, they send weekly email with prices typically 5 to 8 pence a litre above my local Tesco. Decided to cut card up and rang and emailed to cancel my membership. Next day I had 38 texts with same pricing details. I have cancelled membership in end of January yet they still send me weekly texts despite blocking their number. Complete joke of a company - don't waste your time!

Clunky start, but now excellent and no issues

The card did take about 2 months to receive through Blue Light card, and the first payment was declined for some reason. However now its sorted I've filled up around 5 times with it so far, and no issues at all. At present, fuel is around 10p a litre cheaper than the Esso fuel station I'm filling up at, and roughly the same price if not 1/2p cheaper than low quality Tesco/Asda fuel so not bad at all. I have a feeling however prices may start to creep up as it becomes more popular, and then it may not be worth it, but at present all good and saving around £5 per a fill up.

No reply to two emails...

After a second email to them Pump King has failed to contact me. Their reply to an earlier review said I could cancel my account via the website. Yes you do get an option to cancel but the account and personal details are not deleted, message is "Your account with be blocked and you will no longer be able to log in". This is not deleting my personal data.

Started off cheap

When I first subscribed it was a good discount but changed quickly. Petrol is 6p per ltr cheaper just up the road and that is with with the discount.
Handy if you need fuel on motorways
