Really useful discount fuel card for…
Really useful discount fuel card for Esso fuel stations. You can use it anywhere in the country and they have a fixed weekly price for all the grades of fuel so you know what the price is every week and what you are going to pay wherever you are in the country. There’s no charge for the card, you can sometimes save up to 10-11p per litre depending on the garage price and they even charge you at the garage price if the garage is lower than their weekly rate. I know some people seem to have had some frustrations and issues but I’ve found it great.
One person circus
Jokers. Non-working multiple cards. Non-operable webs-site. Annoying sms that you cannot stop and that can come in hundreds.
Zendesk support with the same answer for all issues: to login into your account (see previous replies to feedback). The problem is there is no account. I requested to close my "account" and delete my data- guess what was the reply. Yep, login into your account.
Still continue to receive sms. Blocking number does not help. I changed my debit card and worry about ID theft in the future because this "company" is very dodgy
emailed to cancel but unable to
emailed to cancel due to the text message debacle from few weeks back.still no reply. phone numbers dead. cant wait till i hear what the information comissioner has to say.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Used the card 3 times after months of trying because of their systems not working.
Then to find they have charged me 6 times for the 3 transactions. No one replays to emails phones are now not working. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
A Brilliant Idea
My card arrived December after a short wait. I activated it and was able to enjoy Esso fuel at a reduced price. I also received one text message each Friday afternoon which advised of the fuel price from the following Sunday. This is a great idea and very welcome. However more recently apart from receiving an extra 28 text messages on the previous Saturday the text messages have stopped. I am confident members will find buying fuel at up to nine pence below the price charged for Esso fuel locally beneficial. This is most welcome when touring in more remote parts of the Country because it soon adds up to a great saving.
Been waiting 6 months for a card
Been waiting 6 months for a card. Also does anyone know how to stop the text messages? Really annoying.
Total waste of time
Total waste of time. Months of delay and repeated inoperative cards sent. Even the canc l my account process doesn't work!
Avoid avoid avoid
Ordered via Defence Service Discount (same as Blue Light), waited ages for a card, promises of discounts via text every Friday night detailing said discounts. Get card, texts stopped, fill up, charged same as forecourt price. Pumpking do not answer emails, phone number is out of use. Utter utter rubbish, .....
No discounted fuel, no point in membership
Despite waiting over 3 months for a card following application I am more concerned about the discrepancy in terms of what was “offered” as an incentive to apply, (discounted fuel) and what is actually available once a member. I applied following a blue light card promotion that lead me to believe that a discount of 3p per litre of standard unleaded, or 6p per litre of esso’s premium unleaded were available. I have used the card twice and have received no discount whatsoever from the price advertised at the pump. I consider the promotion to be a blatant breach of trading standards as the promotion is not clear and is misleading. The real shame is that Blue Light Card have gained real credibility to date with emergency services and have some real discounts available which I have found extremely beneficial. BLC need to review this partnership as a matter of urgency and in future need to carry out more in depth due diligence. Disappointing.
Pointless
Pointless. Waste of time. Big con!
Twice ive filled up since getting my esso card...its not cheaper at all.. the text said £1.25 a litre.. i paid £1.28.9.. load of crap
Avoid at all costs
Obtained through the blue light card scheme, never worked, never been able to logon, get bombarded with text messages but do not respond, rude customer service operatives. Don't touch it with a barge pole reported to the blue light Card Scheme!!!
4 Months - Never Ended Up Using It
Waited 3 months for my fuel card. Once I had it I was still not receiving any updates on prices.
A friend also has this and said the cost per litre one day was MORE than the garage forecourt!
Decided as I've waited so long (4 months now) I've given up.
Same as everyone else
Same as everyone else. I'm writing to blue light card to say it's just a con. Also fire off an email to trading standards.and also esso. I can't seem to find them on companies house either.
Waste of time, works out MORE expensive! Would not recommend.
I signed up for Pump King (originally 'My Esso Card') in December 2018 through Blue Light Card. I had been receiving texts from them for week's regarding fuel prices but had no card. Finally in March 2019 I received my card, however the price of the fuel using the card is MORE expensive than just filling up at Esso as normal and paying with my bank card! So after waiting over 4 months for my card to arrive I now don't use it as it's more expensive than not having one! Not to mention the 60+ texts I received in 1 day, I hope they weren't hacked with my bank details. I've emailed them 3 times all of which have been ignored. Have subsequently emailed them again to remove my details and close my account, no response as yet. EDIT: Pump King have since reported my review here alleging Pump King's reason for reporting my account was "blocked due to insufficient funds" which is entirely untrue as I've never used them as they work out more expensive as previously mentioned!
False advertising
Signed up for a card through blue light card promising at least 5p off per litre on diesel. Card arrived several weeks later and went and filled up at my local Esso at 126.9per litre so assumed it would be 121.9per litre. When it was deducted from my account I had only saved 1p per litre. Queried it by email as can’t get through on phone to be told because they send a text out they can get away with it. Absolute rubbish. Only last week received over 60 messages in one day informed me of the fuel price. Avoid!
Too Good To Be True
This was supposed to be the Caravan Clubs flagship new partnership. Initially it looked like we were getting great fuel prices 11p per litre cheaper but only, mysteriously, during the period when nobody had any cards. 2 months later, the card arrives and guess what - the reduced price was no more than 2p below pump prices at Esso and certainly more expensive than Asda. With the text message nonsense, I'd say that this was a very shaky set up.
After the 100 text messages in a day…
After the 100 text messages in a day debacle on saturday ive tried to contact them several times today but cannot get through.
Sad thing is i didnt even complete my application so i never accepted their terms and conditions and never received a card, yet still getting the texts.
Ive made several requests to have my details removed. Ultimately ive had to just report it to the ICO.
Just appalling. Glad i never signed up for it.
Do not sign up for this fuel card
Do not sign up for this fuel card . Recommended by Caravan and Motorhome club total waste of time , I had 30 text messages on Saturday not impressed and cannot get hold of any one to stop it
Well I finally got a reply from…
Well I finally got a reply from Pump-King......
"Sorry for your inconvenience, the error was down to a third party text service, feel free to unsubscribe".
Thats all!
They obviously don't give a hoot about their customers. No reassurance about bank or contact details.
Account blocked to bank and and card shredded is my final review!
Got over one hundred texts in 1 day
Got over one hundred texts yesterday with my weekly fuel price. ALL IDENTIC - OVER ONE HUNDRED! Great when you're sleeping off nights.
Cannot block the number as it comes from a provider with no number quoted, just a name.
Rang them.... no answer. That coupled with a higher per litre price than local forecourts means the cars is worthless.
Just a total waste of time. THE worst service I've EVER signed up for with THE worst customer service ethic.
Plainly the company won't be around for very long.
