RAC needs to shut down their shop!
The customer service is terrible. I ordered a Noco battery charger from them, and it arrived a week late. When I finally got it, it was defective! After reaching out to them, I learned that it was shipped from a third party, and now I’m stuck in a three-way conversation where RAC is forwarding my messages to the third party. You can imagine how long that’s taking.

Eventually, they decided I need to send it back. The audacity is that they expect me to foot the bill for that! I refuse to do so—it’s a faulty item, and I want a refund along with a returns postage label.

In summary, do not purchase from them. They appear to have no stock and rely on third parties for shipping. When things go wrong, it turns into a nightmare. As of now, I still haven't received my refund or a returns label!

Don't buy a car battery from the RAC. Their courier can't deliver because of dangerous goods.
You can't get in touch with customer service. In the end I made contact via Facebook messenger. I was told that it wasn't delivered because the customer (me) had refused delivery. I investigated and the Ervi delivery driver told me that they couldn't deliver car batteries because they are not covered to deliver dangerous items. Shame on you RAC. I was left for several days without my car because of this. Ordered a new one from Amazon cheaper and came next day.

Ordered a Navitel R980 dashcam from the RAC shop.The cam is supposed to receive information about more than 60 types of speed cameras, mobile cameras, dedicated lanes for public transport, and other potential hazards. You will be alerted visually, and with a beep before reaching any of these, allowing you to plan ahead, and avoid any unnecessary fines. The display will also show your current speed, and the distance to the nearest traffic restriction.This is certainly not the case after trying for two weeks to load files onto the cam.Navitel CZ not very helpful either.

Ordered car mats. Entered registration number and ordered the ones they recommend. Were not compatible with my car. Insisted this was my fault and that I had to pay return costs

Complained on here after no satisfaction from a recovery on th27th June 2024 and they said they would review my complaint again still waiting for a reply from July the worst recovery company out there go elsewhere going to ombudsman next.dont waist you money.

Ordered a car battery to be delivered - heard nothing for 8 days, then they eventually told me they couldn't deliver because "your item is unable to be sent due to dangerous goods restrictions".

Surely they knew this at the outset. It's a battery delivery.

Why bother with these fatuous remarks? The don't fool anybody.

The delivery was faster than expected. The product was absolutely brilliant. Great service thank you.

Arrived within the time specified on the RAC website. Really good quality 5mm rubber mats for my 2019 Qashqai. Perfect fit, very happy and would definitely recommend.

UPDATE 16/9/24: Refund is in the process of being actioned by RAC.

Trying to arrange a refund on a battery purchase/fitting should me more straightfoward. The contact number listed on their website is answered by a machine which says that it's closed. Email responses to the Customer Services email address are slow (even when allowing for lead time), only to be told that I have contact another department on another email address (no number provided).

8.30AM car battery dead with car on drive at home. Not a total surprise as it was 11 years old!
9.30AM order identical stop-start heavy duty car battery from RAC online shop. Competitive price with 50% off call-out charge as RAC
member.
2PM RAC patrol man arrives at front door, fits new battery, test drives car and re-sets car computer with professional and friendly manner.
2.30PM job finished and one very happy customer!

Don’t usually leave reviews but just wanted to advise what an awful service is provided and warn anyone against purchasing from them. Ordered child’s car seat with next day delivery payment and nothing after two days. Took a call with them for them to confirm their supplier is actually out of stock and now have to wait six days for full refund with explanation that they would have eventually released it was out of stock

Pretty straighforward. Tom who was quite pleasant and approachable attended and explained as he replaced the dead battery.

Pack fitted our needs exactly, 2 adults. Ordered and delivery experience first class

A truely awful business. Ordered a childs hi vis vest in addition to the 2 that come with the european driving set. They sent an adults vest, that was actually larger than than the adult vests in the driving set! When i messaged them to tell them there was an issue and they had sent an adult vest by mistake, they expected me to send it back if i wasn't happy with the product, at my own cost! mental. Breaking trading standards. STAY CLEAR AT ALL COST

Ordered 2 European driver kits from RAC website, really easy to navigate and competitive on price and quick delivery.
This was the only retailer I could find a family kit which contained extra tabards for the kids.

Worthwhile travel kit to have - everything you need.

Really poor service, ordered a new battery to replace my failing one on their dedicated ‘fitting service’ to find out that once £250 had left my account that it wasn’t a dedicated service, but was on the availability of patrols to supply and fit as an when they could. 48 hours later after much chasing and being messed around, an admittedly helpful and apologetic patrol arrived to fit my battery at Midnight! (So much for convenience but definitely not the patrol chaps fault). Sadly due to some equipment issues with his kit, he was unable to ‘code’ the battery to my car and said that someone would have to attend the following day / evening to do so. 20:00 the next day.. Still heard nothing and have chased to be told ‘no ETA’ and it would be escalated for someone to review tonight. 22:00 and another patrol arrived, again a really nice guy and very helpful in a situation that wasn’t his fault.
Patrol staff were absolutely fantastic and the only reason the ‘RAC shop’ are getting 2 stars instead of one from me, but overall service was so poor.
RAC recovery may be good and their patrols helpful, but avoid their ‘battery fitting service’. Really disappointed.

They are extremely unprofessional. They told me on two separate days that they would come to replace my battery, and NO ONE showed up.

Well. Wrote a review about poor customer service. Clearly it was seen by someone at RAC who sent me details of who to speak to. Two emails later still no refund or reply. By their roadside cover at your peril if this is the customer service!!
