Update to ‘If I could give 0 I would’

If I could give 0 I would. Absolute joke of a company. I ordered front and rear cameras, fitted from the RAC. I got an email confirming my order. Now, call me stupid, but when ordering from the RAC I had expected an RAC person to arrive on the day with the cameras ready to fit. Oh no, nothing so simple… I started to receive emails from a company called RS Connect regarding the fitting of the camera, I was surprised, but went with it. I then missed a delivery three times from APC, I emailed them as I wasn’t expecting a delivery asking them to redeliver the parcel but to come to my back door and that I was in but working from home. They wouldn’t do this. I asked who the parcel was from and they replied with, Coleman Automotive, who I have never heard of and have never ordered from. This missed delivery was apparently the cameras and that the fitting company don’t bring with them. The RAC don’t bother to mention any of this at point of ordering and, having spoken with a customer service advisor I was told, and I quote ‘that’s not relevant information’!!! I beg to differ. I asked if the cameras could be delivered direct to the fitters…the advisor said…but they’ll need the cameras first!! I know, that’s why I’d like the camera delivered direct to them. But the RAC can’t do that either. I’m now wondering when the delivery will be reattempted as the RAC also can’t give a date. Unsure how I’m meant to wait for a delivery when I have no clue when it’s due. So, because of the RAC’s lack of ‘irrelevant’ information my time has been wasted, APC’s time has been wasted and the fitters time has been wasted. And I’ve wasted a days annual leave. I’m fuming.

UPDATE: When the cameras finally arrived with me and the fitter was able to come back, the fitting was swift, he did a lovely job, couldn’t tell where he’d been or what he’d had to remove and refit to hide all the wires etc. I’m still trying to master the cameras themselves, but that’s a me issue. I’m just sorry the poor fitter had a wasted journey the first time. Did feel a little better when he advised me that this had happened before where the delivery of the cameras is concerned. I think this is the problem when you have three companies in the mix - the camera supplier, the camera fitter and a third party (RAC)with whom you place the order. I think better communication would prevent this arising. I give the fitter 5 stars. I’d give the camera supplier 5 stars, but I’d definitely give the RAC 2 stars on this.

We ordered rubber mats for our car and…

We ordered rubber mats for our car and a carpeted boot mat. All were manufactured extremely quickly and arrived at our household within 3 working days, despite the note saying that mats typically took 7-10 days to manufacture. We were delighted by this and the mats themselves are very high quality and fit perfectly into our car.

car mats for my car

Wanted some car mats for my car, searched and RAC shop came up, checked on there and was reasonably priced, didn't know RAC did anything like that. You can colour match the edges of the mats which look good and the fit perfectly and reasonably priced as well

Shocking Customer Service

I ordered and paid for a Nextbase 422GW 1440P Full HD Dash Cam x 1 with fitting and received a confirmation of installation between 0800-1200 on Wednesday 03/09/2025. I rang the number on the confirmation at 1206 today to be informed nothing had been booked in. I have stage 4 terminal cancer and have arranged my treatment around this appointment. This is shocking customer service and although not the cheapest, I would have thought that the RAC could and would give a better service than this. I have now decided to cancel the order completely. I have since been to Halfords and had it fitted while I waited

RAC Do Not Know if wired dashcams they sell and fit drain batteries.

Wanted to order Dashcam and fitting - I emailed a Question - ' Will a wired dashcam drain my battery) the reply .. thanked me for my refund and said they didn't know (see below) So RAC are roadside vehicle assistance, fitters and mechanics charge £110 to fit a dashcam and don;' know if a wired dashcam drains a battery???

Terrible customer service - AVOID

Ordered a dashcam with fitting bundle, the second one I'd ordered so I knew the process. At the time of ordering the website wasn't showing the bundle broken down in the checkout but from the total (which was more than the previous time of purchase and more than now) it appeared all items were included and had advised that hardwire kits would be included with any fitting orders. Order confirmation came through with everything included on one line so no detail. The hardwire kit didn't turn up with the camera, and the engineer didn't have it either so couldn't have the camera fitted. Contacted RAC shop who said I didn't order one, and didn't seem interested in being helpful. I have asked repeatedly for a refund of the fitting service as it is useless without the hardwire kit, and as far as I am concerned I have already paid for the full bundle over the odds, and would not have paid anything extra for the package since it already cost more than the previous time (or the current price). So far I've either been ignored or told they will contact the supplier to see if it can be cancelled but don't hold out much hope of a helpful service given my experience of the customer service to date. I will be arranging a charge back via credit card, and will never use RAC shop again after this. AVOID unless you want to deal with misleading information and rude customer service.

Excellent product and service

After a neighbour’s car was stolen I felt I should get some protection but I was overwhelmed by the choice and variation in prices of Faraday pouches. I felt I could rely on those sold by the RAC, I trust them implicitly and have had excellent service from them for many years. I used the helpful chatbot too before choosing. I ordered a pouch which was reasonable priced, holds my bulky bunch of keys and arrived very quickly. I’m delighted, and reassured.

Can’t supply a car battery as it’s too heavy

Ordered a car battery a couple of days ago. Received an email today stating they have cancelled my order and processed a refund as their supplier won’t supply the battery … AS IT’S TOO HEAVY !!

What a joke, you would think the RAC and their suppliers would know that car batteries are heavy.
