Raffles charge extra for different coloured pups knowing their Poodle studs carry the fading gene. They then try to hide this fact by deleting pictures and comments on their facebook page.

We brought a puppy from Raffles in 2019, paid a deposit at the beginning of the year with an aim to collect a puppy later in the year. In September we contacted (the lady owner who runs the emails etc) and she advised to look at some pups just posted on the available puppy page on their very glossy website. We fell in love with a pup, from his picture and decided that was the one for our family. On the page it showed his price and that he was a two toned darker apricot costing £1,295 (I have a screen shot of this page) We were first time puppy owners and brought into Raffles completely, we were so naive!! We didn't really notice the difference in price for the red £1,395, apricot £1,195 and two toned pups at the time and assumed it was normal. Now I know it's not!! We were due to collect our puppy late October but had a call from (the man who owns the business), who was on holiday to say that the litter were not big enough for their 2nd vaccinations and were not gaining weight so the Mum had to be put back in with the pups. A week later and they had their vaccinations and we were allowed to collect at the beginning of November, a Sunday (all details i have on an email thread with the lady owner too). Our pup (well he's 1 now) is adorable, within 24 hours of collection we were at the vets for a puppy check, he was riddled with ear mites and had a cough that the vet said could be kennel cough but it went. We were charged for medication for the ear mites and after contacting The male owner at Raffles he refunded us this cost (we have the evidence and payment shown to our account). Our vets couldn't fathom that a vet had seen our pup at Raffles 5 days prior and had not noticed the ear mites. Luckily, our puppy is healthy and a joy with no major issues, however he very obviously has the fading gene and is now a sandy colour and is white in many places, this isn't a problem or concern for us, we didn't choose him for his colour at all and are happy with him. We were not aware of the poodle fading gene, that's on us. Raffles did in one email exchange about the available puppy say that the two available were born dark and had lightened to a dark apricot colour. My issue is that Raffles think it is ok to charge more for a darker coloured puppy when they KNOW there is a high chance it carries the poodle fading gene. Why not charge the same price for all puppies??
Further to this I posted a picture of our dog as a puppy and on his 1st birthday in August, side by side. As a visual it is shocking to see the difference! This picture was deleted and I was blocked from commenting further on their social media (I have screen prints of the post etc), Raffles monitor and delete anything remotely negative to try and hide what's going on. Why delete my nice picture of a Raffles dog? So that potential buyers will not know about the fading gene and pay more. It's pure greed. I have emailed The lady owner regarding this and her reply was that 'they do make it clear there are no guarantees on colours all sables go lighter it's just what happensas do some darker colours.' She then referenced her email saying the available pups had gone lighter, confirming they knew these pups had the fading gene. Why charge more? I'm speechless!! We were never told about the fading gene or anything of the sort by Raffles. I really do hope that this review helps those looking to purchase a puppy and they seek an ethical breeder who doesn't charge extra for colours and cares about the dogs rather than the money. I am happy to provide any evidence to trust pilot as I have it all. Shame on you Raffles for not being transparent.
*14/10/20. My review was reported by raffles, because I used the owners names, which I had to edit. They did not disagree with any other part of my review*

Puppy Farm with 1* rating from Cheshire East Council

When looking into buying a dog you need to do thorough research which I did and when looking at raffles I noticed they had churned out lots of litters in one year.

I asked how they managed to do this all in the home environment and why the mum and dad are always carried in and seem afraid and have no interest in the puppies. I wanted to know I was looking into the right place to buy a puppy after reading mixed reviews. I was expecting them to put my mind at ease but within a minute my comment was deleted and I was blocked from the page.

This was all I needed to know and haven’t had any further contact with them. They are a puppy farm that hides behind the pretence of a genuinely good breeder on social media that I have now seen breed very sickly dogs with behaviour problems and have been doing so for years.

Their rating from Cheshire East Council has gone down from 4* to 1* which would hopefully make people question further.

Please do your research before buying from them and realise all these people cannot be lying

Do your research... please.

Bought a Cavapoo from them in 2017. Was taken in by their slick website and good reviews at the time. Thought it very strange that they had so many dogs available, and when we picked up I was shocked at how many others were picking up too - prob 12 others in the same room collecting from multiple litters. Was also strange that we didnt see the mum or dad interact with our puppy they were carried in, didnt walk or allow us to have any contact.
My puppy had bloody mucassy poo for weeks after we got him home... was told this was normal byt he breeder but vet said it wasnt. My dog is amazing I wouldn't change him, love him to bits but he is very anxious, we cant really leave him alone and he has a sensitive tummy and ear issues too. Not sure if this is due to his start in life or not. but having read so may other similar stories I do wonder how he was bred and brought up (when we got him he was covered in saw dust) Please do your research before buying from Raffles.

We purchased a cockapoo

We purchased a cockapoo, his date of birth was 04/11/2017. Initially there was confusion over his parents. I have never been able to find another puppy from this litter which is odd. And he has huge behaviour problems. Incredibly anxious, has bitten someone and regularly snaps at us. He is scared of everything. We have a great vet and behaviourist that is supporting us. I pray for my children’s sake that we do not end up having to get him put down. Please please adopt from a shelter. Give a home to a dog that needs one and stop funding their lavish greedy lifestyle

Pup bought 15/03/2020- exercise caution

Pup bought 15/03/2020. Pup was ill from the moment we got home. Diagnosed by vet through full faecal sample with Giardia & Cryptosporidium. Vet confirmed due to the conditions the pup was bred in. We paid more than other breeders for a home bred pup- not one which appears to be an upmarket puppy farm churning out around 200 litters a year. Their website appears slick (apart from the obvious grammatical errors) but is misleading. Our dog is lovely, but I wouldn't buy from them again as the reality does not match the marketing info.and I wonder exactly what those poor mummy dogs (this site won’t let me give them their correct term!) endure when they are brought in from external breeders to whelp on site.

Puppy farm - 260 litters in 2019!

Knowing what I know about this place now, I would never ever have got my pup from here. The problem was, in 2019 you could hardly find a fault with this place online, just gushing reviews. I have now learned that this is because they sensor their Facebook page and online reviews which is sickening. Now is the time to speak out!!! In 2019 alone they had almost 260 known litters with over 150 in the previous year. I am appauled that the council have let them get away with this.

We picked our boy up from here in December 2019. On our first visit, we met our pup who was 8 weeks old. He looked slightly different to the image we had been sent and had selected however we were told it was the same pup and we had no reason to believe that they would make this up. Months later, following a check of his microchip and puppy ID number from the picture, it transpired that it was not in fact the pup we had chosen. Although we would not change him for the world, we were so angry that we had the choice taken from us.

Whilst on our first visit, a family were taking away a cockapoo with a cocker allegedly named Elsa as mum. They asked to see Elsa and a cavalier was brought out as "mum". The family picked up on this and Raffles just said oh so sorry we have two dogs called Elsa and then brought out "mum" cocker spaniel Elsa... At the time we were so besotted with our pup but looking back they are almost certainly renaming dogs as they go. The mums are disposable to them- used as many times as they can for their greedy profit.

Our boy has been largely healthy however has suffer from kennel cough, ear infections and has an extremely sensitive tummy. He came home covered in sawdust with poo matted in his small paws and he stunk to high heaven. He is quite anxious and doesn't tolerate being alone very well.

Do not line this breeders pockets like we did. The glossy website and filtered facebook page stand for nothing. These are the reviews you can trust. I have recently learned that the council have revoked their five star rating and given them 1 star. They do not eve deserve their one star and I hope they are found out for who they really are soon.

Please don’t buy from here :(

I bought my pup from Raffles in 2018. While she is part of our family and we love her so much, she had many health issues when we bought her. We took her to the vet and our vet said she had come from somewhere that had not kept her in a good condition at all, due to her conditions he expected a puppy farm location. Looking back... we never saw her with her mum or dad and we were just handed her on the day. I feel so guilty for getting her from what is clearly a puppy farm :( if you look at 2019 accounts you can see they had over 200 litters! It’s obvious as the years have gone on they have just made more and more money and care less and less about the breeding dogs :(

After our puppies immediate health issues, I contacted raffles immediately and they ignored all my emails and calls. We love our Cockapoo the most and after a lot of money spent when she was a pup, she’s in good health now.

Please please please don’t get your puppy from here. Look for a smaller and caring breeder. Not a puppy farm.

POORLY PUP

I really do not know where to start as I have had a poorly pup since i picked her up in September 2015. So please read this before you part with any money with the Wettons.

I contacted Raffles as I wanted a cockapoo and Alison replied straight away saying she actually had a litter available which was unusual she said! THATS NOT TRUE AS THEY ALWAYS HAVE LITTERS AVAILABLE. I thought nothing of this and she sent over several photos of pups sitting on sofas for me to choose from. I wasn't comfortable choosing from a sofa picture and asked if I could see the pups with Mum, at which I was told the pups were now weaned off Mum and that if I didn't make a decision others would buy the pup. I should of at this stage realised that Raffles is actually a puppy farm or a large scale puppy breeder. But stupidly I selected a pup from the photos. Now looking back what half wit person picks their puppy from a selection of photos! Yes I did but so have thousands others. Whats wrong with me and you that we think its acceptable to pick a puppy like this???

When we arrived on collection day we drove through the gates and we could hear the drone of dogs barking in the kennels. I asked Mark why the dogs were barking and where did they live and if i could see them. His reply " no as it would start them barking more" I should have walked away then but he was holding my pup and my three kids so wanted this new addition. So we never got to see where Mum and pups were raised and no one ever does.

We asked to see Mum and she was carried in looking unkempt covered in sawdust, her fur was matted and she looked awful. Mark joked that it is tiring for a mum to give birth, erm my pup was 10 weeks old so not sure why Mum looked so bedraggled?!?

Dad was carried in and he looked even worse! His fur was matted terrible and I felt so sorry for him.

Mark warned us that our pup would have sloppy poops and if he did to administer panacur for 3 days (its a worming paste). So when we arrived home within a few hours our pup had blood and runny poop. This alarmed us all to see blood so we messaged Alison who replied promptly to give panacur and our pup would be fine.

4 days later and our pup was still lethargic, not eating and still awful sloppy poops with blood. Alison said to give another 3 day course of panacur and not to worry our pup would be fine.

Over the next few days our pup wasn't well, had a slight cough or a funny bark as my son said and scratching at his ear.

We were not happy so rang our own VET who is also my brother in law. He told me to get our Pup down to him now and not to give anymore panacur as this is a wormer and its wrong to continue to dose a dog up with panacur when worms isn't the issue. We had seen no evidence of worms and at this stage he had been wormed before he left Raffles and we had wormed his twice since even though no worms and only on the say so of Raffles, foolish me again!

After tests we found out our dog had kennel cough, nasty ear infection and giardia. I emailed Alison to let her know and she replied to say that all the other litter mates were fine and our vet was wrong! It was at this stage that she was quite hostile and defensive and claimed it was down to me that my pup was ill as we must have been taking her out around other dogs. She still insisted my VET who has 15 years experience was wrong. I emailed over the vet report and bill but she never replied after this.

At this point I wrote on FOR THE LOVE OF COCKAPOOS to share my concerns and i was immediately blocked by the group and my post removed. I then tried to do the same on Raffles Cockapoo Facebook page and was blocked. I then did some digging and found out that Alison Wetton runs FOR THE LOVE OF COCKAPOOS facebook page and her admin team stop any negativity to Raffles. She has loyal team who monitor every comment and remove anything remotely negative. if you look at the Raffles Cockapoo page there isnt one negative review as Alison ensures it is removed. Talk about a control freak!

Years on and my pup has so many health issues and anxiety too.

The Wettons have admitted to bringing in pregnant mums to give birth at their premises and its why they managed to get around their 49 breeding mums license and sell over 200 litters last year. If this doesn't look or sound like a dodgy puppy farm then you really need to look at your moral compass. I failed back in 2015 and ignored the signed but if you are reading this you have a chance to make a change and stop Raffles from exploiting their breeding mums.

You only have to read the cheshire east inspections at the failings of Raffles. Also look on Companies House as that gives an insight to the sort of people the Wettons are.

Poorly pup with no care or guidance

We had our first cavapoo in 2017 , a very healthy loving boy and decided to use raffles again last year to get a new pup, our now 1 year old girl. From day one she has been poorly we did ring raffles on a number of occasions and they told us it was all very normal and may be because of having her injections, microchip, leaving her litter etc. Our pup became very poorly very quickly and was admitted to the vets and kept in under observation. We emailed raffles with her symptoms and had no reply so I kept emailing still with no reply. In the end I rang them up to explain and asked if they had any advice on what it may be, by now she had been diagnosed with suspected meningitis having the symptoms from day one of collection. Raffles has said that they would keep in touch with me to give me support but I never did hear anything else back from them. Now I know they can’t help having unhealthy pups but we had no support, guidance or care even though this is promised on their website. My girl is still quite poorly with ear infections , womb infections , skin infections and poor eyesight, hopefully the meningitis has been cured but she could relapse . Both my dogs are beautiful and have the best temperament but I would not recommend raffles on the basis of their promise to support us that they had no intention of keeping.

Wouldn’t recommend!

Poorly puppy when got her home with worms, bloody diarrhoea and sickness. Wanted a dog suitable to become a therapy dog, which the pride themselves in.
The dog we got is scared of her own shadow, scared of people and scared of dogs. Any loud bands / noises she cowers in the corner. She’s scared of nearly all men. And won’t let strangers get near her never mind touch her. So she won’t become a therapy dog!!
They don’t provide a lifetime of aftercare as promised as never reply to my emails asking for advice.
Didn’t get to see mum, dad or any siblings and only got sent two pictures in advance of collection as they were very busy.

I wouldn’t recommend Raffles to anyone.

I have gained more knowledge and experience now and just want to share with others my bad experience. We were completely taken in by the flashy website and the lack of negative reviews anywhere. Our pup did not spend his first night at home with his new family he spent the first week fighting for his life in the vets with parvo. I wish the negative reviews and support were around back in 2017. Please do your own thorough research first.

Collected our pup in jan 2019

Collected our pup in jan 2019, mum and dad (or so we were told) were carried in for us to see very briefly, no interaction with pup, within two days of being home she was scratching at her ears so badly there were scabs on then, they smelt and would bleed, vet advised she had ear mites and needed treatment, it did eventually work and thankfully she hasn’t had them since, seems it’s a common occurrence with raffles pups, along with all the other illnesses their pups leave with, whilst I love our pup I’m horrified that I helped fund these people and their HUGE puppy farm, it needs to be stopped

this is baically a puppy farm, my son got a pup from there and it was infested with mites, it cost a lot of money to correct as it was a mite condition inherited from the mother and our vet said it should never have been used for breeding, the people who bred the pup (Raffles) were not interested to hear any of this

Puppy farm disguised as home breeder

The huge number of litters they have each year says it all. After thoroughly researching breeders for a couple of years we were totally taken in by raffles as there seemed to be no negative information out there. This couldn’t be further from the truth as it comes to light the huge number of puppies that have come home poorly. Our puppy came home with diarrhoea containing blood and an ear infection and he was one of the lucky ones. We were told that diarrhoea containing blood was normal due to the change in environment. We were extremely naive and this delayed seeking veterinary advice for almost 2 weeks. This is something I feel huge guilt for knowing that I could have prevented our pups unnecessary suffering. Hopefully the truth will come out and no more puppies and dogs will suffer.

I am very shocked at the negative…

I am very shocked at the negative reviews on here about Raffles and I am finding it very difficult to believe them. I cannot fault them at all, our experience was very different and the same as the other people who gave them 5 stars. When we went to pick Ralph up we were asked to clean our feet and hands , we met Ralph’s mother (Wiggy) who was a gorgeous healthily bright eyed show cocker spaniel , who sat next to us on the sofa. We also meet his Dad who was again a very healthy looking Gorgeous miniature poodle called popcorn . Both dogs were very calm clean and well looked after. We were given certificates of vet checks for both parents and a vaccination card as Ralph had his first vaccinations he had also been vet checked chipped and wormed twice . We also got a bag of food a blanket a toy a brush and lots of advice . Ralph was paper trained we were amazed at how good he was , our vets checked him over and he had no problems a very healthy gorgeous well looked after pup. I did contact Raffles regarding his vaccinations as our vet wanted to start them again as they used a different brand they got back to me straight away and were very helpful . I have recommended Raffles to so many people , and if you bump into anyone who owns a Raffles dog they always speak highly of them as breeders . I cannot thank them enough for our beautiful calm cockerpoo Ralph who is 4 in September and I would not hesitate to use them again.

I have a 2 year old cavapoo from raffles. He was shaking with fear when I went to collect him, he had sawdust stuck to him, he smelt very strongly of wee, and generally just looked terrified. He is still extremely anxious now. He was clearly never socialised in his first 10 weeks. I was totally fooled by raffles. Don’t give this greedy heartless business any more money. 2019 Cavapoochon

In 2019, We purchased a Cavapoochon from Raffles Cockapoos. Our experience was generally a positive one...but I have put the pros & cons of the experience below...

First we put our name down on a waiting list & paid a deposit. We was asked to explain our working / living arrangement beforehand to ensure we were suitable for a dog. All was fine.
We received a log in with very thorough information in about how Raffles work & how to prepare for a puppy.

Once the litter was ready, we received a series of photos of Cavapoochon pups to choose from & picked one we liked the look of.

We Arranged to visited Raffles to Make sure the pup was the right one for us prior to purchase.
The property is a large gated property, which we wasn’t expecting at all.
When we was there, there were a few people collecting Cockapoos puppies & it was very busy. But considering the litters are sometimes of 10, and the people seemed to be collecting from the same litter, we didn’t think much of it...
Before we entered, we sanitised our hands and feet.

We was handed our gorgeous pup, exactly as our picture. He was very small in comparison to the big Cockapoos puppies that were there & we thought he may have been one of the smallest in his litter too. He didn’t smell bad at all. He was very quiet and chill - but nothing that was out of the ordinary. We did however think he was a tad on the skinnier side, but not unhealthy skinny.
We also met his mum & dad who carried in, but assumed this was due to sanitation reasons for other puppies. Mum needed a good groom, but I have since heard mums do not get grooms whilst pregnant, as it can distress them.

We fell in love with our puppy & arranged a collection date a little after their proposed date.

On the collection date, we were the only people there collecting a puppy. We sanitised as before.
We were briefed on what we should expect from the puppy once home, giving a pack including, an in depth puppy guide, health testing & vaccination confirmation.
Raffles give us a bag with a collection of items, including a brush, some oodles food (which we were recommended to use), a toy, a blanket and other small bits.
We noticed our puppy was a little larger than last time & has grown which was good, but had a strong wee smell this time.

We paid the final amount for our puppy which was approx £1500 overall. And we took our puppy home.

Once home, our pup would not touch his food at all. We added some oodles gravy as advised before we left by raffles and he managed to eat some.
As the days went on, he would not eat hardly any oodles at all.
His stools were loose, but we was told to expect this due to settling.

I registered our puppy with a local vet and got a puppy check. I told them about the food and the stools.
The vet advised the pup seemed healthy, but it is common for puppies to have a sensitive tummy and pick up bugs due to their immune system.
Our puppy was due the next round of panacur, so we were prescribed some & told to feed him chicken & rice.
Once finished on the panacur & chicken, his stools firmed, but he would not eat the ooddles still.
We have now swapped to Eden’s dog food and he has put on so much weight & is thriving.

He is the most friendly loving dog you could meet. He’s not scared of thunder, or much at all really.

Pros:
Great pupping information guides were given and accessible via a website.
Good welcome pack, including some handy items.
My cavapoochon is healthy, although soft stools to begin.
Good sanitising process at raffles.
Our pup has a great temperament & loves people, animals, other dogs and children.
He has been very easy to train.
He is not timid at all.
He is gorgeous & we often get stopped in the street so people can give him a cuddle... he loves the attention!

Cons:
Once we took our pup home we didn’t get a response when we contacted Raffles to let them know how he was getting on.
Soft stools to begin? But could be normal settling.
Strong wee smell on collection.
We didn’t see our puppy with his mum in their sleeping environment.
