I wish I had read the reviews before ordering but assumed you could trust a name like Ralph Lauren. I ordered stocking fillers in early December. UPS only made one attempt to deliver and left an almost illegible card saying the parcel was at a pick up address. I went there 2 days later to be told it wasn't there. I called Customer Services who promised UPS would call (they didn't). I emailed only to find that the address on the website is for the US - they responded that it was nothing to do with them. Still waiting for a refund over a month later...
A great name going downhill fast.
I have been a very loyal Ralph Lauren customer for more than 30 years, from Purple Label through to dozens of pole shirts. They have always been fantastic on size. I am a large man, and have gone from XL to XXXL over the years. I recently bought tracksuit bottoms, which are supposed to be XXXL. I have had several pairs previously. These arrived and are ludicrously undersized. I suspect they may be XXXL for ladies, but certainly not for men.
However, the problem is returning them. We live on a small island, on the Shetland Isles, so the nearest UPS collection point is more than 150 miles away, and would cost me £400 to get there. I have asked, and asked, the Ralph Lauren Customer Assistance team for assistance, but they either do not respond or do not bother to read my e-mails. The wonderful Ralph Lauren is going downhill fast. In addition to the sizing issue, the quality of the tracksuit bottoms is terrible. I have bought a pair elsewhere, for a quarter of the price and twice the quality.
Poor quality control & customer services.
I purchased two polo shirts from Ralph Lauren.
Who I have been buying from for years using resellers (ASOS etc) but thought I’d go direct.
The two polo shirts are exactly the same size (L) yet, there is over an INCH difference in sizing. I followed up with a complaint to their “customer services” to be told to return to the product.
The product is now out of stock, due to their over sight, poor quality control & slow customer service responses.
They would not exchange said polo, for a similar one that was in stock.
Customer services failed to even acknowledge my complaint & dissatisfaction. They offered me a measly 10% off my next order, which is not resorting my faith in the brand at all. Considering, I was told I could have the exchange to then be told I couldn’t.
For a massive high end brand, you’d expect better quality from start to finish with the customer service piece at the least.
Edit: they offered compensation which was satisfactory, changed to 3 stars.

Ralph Lauren UK ecommerce has very poor customer service. There was a typo error with my postal code (which UPS does not seem to know how to resolve, which is quite shocking, please avoid UPS too in UK). There was no response from RL customer support to my request to correct the postal code after 2 days (even though the email promised a response within 1 day). When they finally responded, they wrote back condescendingly, asking me to provide full details of my billing name and address, even though it was already shared with them in the previous email. I have never experienced such low quality customer service from a site selling mid to high priced items.
Delivered tracking status but no delivery
I received an email stating that the product had been delivered and the tracking status stated just that. Only problem was that it hadn't been. No sign of it. The "delivered" email from Ralph Lauren stated that all parcels must be signed for, so I naturally asked for proof of signature which of course they couldn't supply. Hey ho. So they set up a 5 day investigation - that's working days (important to remember that). Of course they did not contact me with the result of the investigation - I had to ring them. They said the parcel could not be found (!!) so they would give me a refund (another 15 working days). But I said, there's no need to do that, just send it again. Oh no, they can't do that. What??? Well that's the last order they're getting from me.
REFUNDS to 5-6 weeks!!!!!!
Ralphlauren cloths are amazing BUT, if you need to return any item it can take over 5-6 weeks before they issue a refund, then a further 5-10 days before money is in your bank! I have just been told a refund will not be until 18th December, I posted items back to Ralphlauren on the 13th November!!

I too wish I read the reviews, ordered a £400 coat and chosen express delivery for £15. It’s a week late and it’s still not arrived, the customer service experience is a joke, they refused to answer my query until I gave them the email address I ordered with. I was emailing them from the same address, and they kept saying it was the wrong email (it wasn’t) The replies seemed generic possibly AI, and they have now said I have received my item, when on the UPS tracking it clearly states it’s been delivered to Feltham.
Horrendous experience, I will never order from them again.
£900 feather down jacket and soaked to the skin!!
I purchased a £900 feather down winter jacket in the summer and put it away for winter but I used it today for the first time in a light rain and I got SOAKED!!
It lets in water like it's made from toilet paper and trying to dry out a down jacket is very difficult and it's basically USELESS as a winter jacket, I have disabilities and can't be cold and wet so I've had to contact UK trading standards..
How Ralph Lauren can sell a winter jacket for £900 that can't be worn in light rain or snow is just bonkers and just shows the low quality of the product, if you want to be worm and dry please avoid there expensive jackets as they are not fit for purpose!!!

What has happened to Ralph Lauren! I used to love the quality of their clothes, but recently this seems to have deteriorated. My latest purchase was a polo shirt dress for my little girl. It looked lovely on the website, however, what arrived was shocking. Very thin flimsy material and the pink looked dirty like it had been washed with dark colours. Looks like an old second hand cheap dress, not a £100 designer item!! This will be the last time I buy from them. The 2 stars are for the correct item arriving and delivery within a week (even though I’d expect sooner for £10!). Absolute rip off.

Wow just wow... I placed an order during the sale on the 19th August, I received an email suggesting one item was out of stock, fair enough. A few days later and email suggesting the other item was delayed and sorry..!! I then received and email asking me to review these two items.. How on earth can that happen, review products I've never received. I called customer services a week ago to chase my outstanding order to no avail only an apology and they would be in touch with an update.. No update, just chased today to find that Ralph Lauren had cancelled my order completely with zero confirmation to me.. I can understand a small internet company having these issues but "Ralph Lauren" and international company offering great customer service and goods... Never again, complete and utter shambles, steer clear if you can everyone.!! I see previous reviews having the same level of service and issues, we cant all be wrong..

So why let me pay? Why hold MY MONEY for a week if you don't have stock. It's not hard to have a stock system for tops nowadays for such a big company.

Unbelievable. Item doesn't get delivered, sent an email asking for status update, no reply. Check the status myself a few days later and it turns out the order was cancelled. So like that, without even sending an email, no reply, no explanation given. Never going to buy any of their stuff again.

Major and smaller stores refund back within 7 days but RL really do take the snails pace of refunding back the money .
Surely if an order is shipped within 7 days why can't returns be completed at the same timescale.

First it’s sent to Feltham in the UK and then they don’t start the refund process until it’s been received in Italy???
THEN once that process has been started it takes another 14 working days to sort the refund.

Genuinely awful. For a decent brand you would expect they put some of the money into their operation. Bought some shoes tried to use the refund portal didn’t work, emailed them to come back with a link. I posted them back 15 days ago but they’ve advised my refund will be in my account by the 16th June which is another 20 days away…
Service is actually really poor and I wouldn’t shop again based on it.

Wish I'd read these reviews as well - awful at sending back refunds for returned items. Their website says allow up to 2 weeks, but I'm well past 2 weeks in waiting now!
Literally other clothes manufacturers send refunds back within a week, why does Ralph Lauren take 3+ weeks?
I contacted their customer services, to which they replied with a lot of generic information on their returns process, but no actual information on where my refund was in the process.
What a mess!
This is relevant to RL UK. Well, after over 30 years of buying RL it has come to a spectacular crashing end with an absolute loss of customer service and trust from the apparent demise in their logisitcs, communication and actually caring about the customer. A long story...
We ordered a lot of RL stuff for xmas and one item came with the electronic tag still attached. We rang and was advised to take it to a store to get removed. As we live 1.5 hour from nearest store we wanted to return the item. The first hurdle was no returns label. We dont have a printer and despite RL's claim it's to save paper they still include a full A4 sheet receipt in the delivery that was half empty space. Half empty space that could've contained a returns label perhaps? We rang to seek advice and was told to go to an internet cafe! Again we live 10 minutes away from the nearest town and also internet cafes disappeared in about 2005 as far as I remember. The next instruction from a CS employee was to drive to my UPS drop off as they'd print a label for me. So off I went, on a 30 minute round trip, wasting my fuel and time, to be told that they never have printed off UPS labels! So back home again and on the phone to a different CS who told us that was wrong and they dont know why we were told that! At this point as im starting to lose time and money on wild goose chases so I demanded they sort this issue which is fair as I had been given wrong information. After lots of to and fro they admitted it was unfair to of made me waste my time so they arranged, at RL's end, for a pick up at my address with UPS. This was all documneted in an email chain too. The following day a van turned up and took the parcel. Cut to two months later and still no refund. And back on the phone again to RL and email. We were then told to provide proof we'd sent the item which of course we dont have as we didnt book it!! Despite the email trail to prove it was RL's side that booked the courier, we were being accused effectively of lying as RL refused to believe any package had been collected. As we didnt book it we had no access to any of the proof and that lays with RL who booked it! Again we had to explain this and referred them to the email exchange that clearly shows RL booking the courier. We were told by a person that we still have the package despite telling them a van arrived and took it from me. Are they suggesting we imagined it and we would suddenly walk into a room and the package was magically still there?? We then wait, wait, wait and make more calls for a different person in RL to actually ring the courier company with a tracking number, of which we wouldnt know as we didnt book it, to say "Oh yes it was collected and we did receive it back weeks ago". So then a refund was initiated.
Can someone at RL please explain why I, as the customer, has had to all the basic leg work, chasing, complaining, accused of lying, time on the phone when you have so-called "staff" being paid to basically make the customer run around in circles making phone calls and phone calls and driving about?
The result is we have absolutely no faith whatsover to ever buy another RL product online as we do not believe for one second that we WONT have an issue should we need to instigate a return. An absolute shambles and months of messing about for a simple return.
