After being referred by my GP to Mount Stuart (Torbay) I expected a bit more selected service than I would have by going NHS. It was an absolute disaster. I can categorically say now they are only int... See more

Provided you are not too ill and have the nothing better to do than listen to endless recorded phone messages and choose any number of options then they may be of use to you -but if like me life is too short try another company.
Appalling customer service; private care should be a premium service given what you pay for it. This hospital seem to find it impossible to communicate effectively or provide timely responses to concerns. Staff are intransigent and unhelpful, and their processes are internally focused with scant regard to the customers they purport to be committed to.
My procedure next week has been cancelled with no explanation as to why - I have asked for a a detailed response and received a less than satisfactory answer. I'd like to send my thanks Ms Rebello for her "empathy" - and I would suggest she looks up the definition of the word in the Oxford dictionary to educate yourself as to the correct meaning. At least I will be able to have our regular family online call this Sunday rather than have to attend my Covid test.
I will forward my formal complaint to the CQC for them to investigate further.
I visited Woodland hospital in Kettering to see Surgeon Chris Sutton for my Sleeve Gastrectomy.
From start to finish I was made to feel totally welcome by friendly laid back staff, who looked after me for the duration of time I was there. The process was very smooth and straight forward and from consultation to surgery day was a very short 2 months, even during these tough times. I was told by the NHS I would be waiting up to 3 years if I continued with that route. I just didn't have it in me so I chose to purse privately, and I'm over the moon that I did, best decision ever!
I stayed overnight in my private room with a beautiful view of the countryside, a TV and comfortable bed. As my operation was the morning after the day I got there, I was given a nice cheese salad meal which was better then any hospital meal I have had. The day of my surgery I was looked after by Emma my Nurse and the rest of the team. Emma gave me a lovely gift of 'The Bariatric Bible' book, which was a nice touch! I was made to feel at ease the whole way through, adequate pain killers were given to keep me comfortable after my op, and the night staff nurse looked after me as if I was one of her own, I believe her name was Marie if I remember rightly.
I now have my own Nutritionist for 2 years who is great, her name is Jane, and am also under the care of the Nurse Emma for any help or advise any time I need via phone, or hospital visit if need be. Chris is also on hand and I will have chats with him every few months.
My weight loss so far has already changed my life and I'm only 8 weeks in! I'm excited for life now where as before my surgery I had no hope for any future.
Chris Sutton is by far the nicest Surgeon I have met, very good at what he does to an art. very laid back and straight to the point with no messing about.
I am very glad I chose Ramsay Health Care at Woodland Hospital. Such a great Hospital and a wonderful team of staff from all angles.
I worked in a Ramsay hospital for over a decade. I am happy to no longer do so.
New Hall hospital is one of the most under-rated hospitals in the country. Astounding level of healthcare, in a beautiful setting
~ North Downs Hospital, Caterham, Surrey UK ~ I don't know anyone who actually likes going into a hospital (even for a consultation), particularly under C-19 conditions and as a patient in a vulnerable age group. The moment I walked into North Downs Hospital for my Appointment I was made to feel at ease. Whilst at the Out Patients Reception, Staff Member Samantha Loring (naturally wearing PPE) showed all her professionalism as she took me through the C-19 check-in procedure. She made me feel relaxed and safe throughout the time I was at North Downs Hospital Hospital. My next Appointment is booked. I now feel much more at ease about attending this Appointment. Thank you Samantha Loring and Ramsay Health Care. (B. Norman - feeling confident).
OK for day surgery or if you're operated on early in the week. At weekends they just want you out even if you're not ready medically.
