Well established & respected local company my appointment with the audiologist (Jessica Tovey) who was very professional & patient for my first hearing aid fittings.

I have been a customer of Rawlings for over 70 years.
I have normally visited my nearest branch once a year for a thorough check-up and find them conscientious, thorough, friendly and practical. Sometimes I need new glasses, but often they say that the difference since my last examination is insufficient to warrant changing them. On one occasion, I called into the branch because I was losing my vision entirely. They diagnosed a detached retina and made a hospital appointment for treatment immediately.

PC visited the Caterham Branch on 7/11 to complete an annual eye test. The staff were most helpful, courteous and engaging at the time of my visit. The eye test completed was very thorough and informative. As expected, as I felt my sight had deteriorated since the last test completed a new pair of glasses were purchased. There are a number of frames available and Anjali was very helpful in assisting me in making my decision for the new frames acquired.
Excellent customer experience received from every individual encountered during my visit, and who are a testament of great values and experience being provided. 10/10 service provided.

Very prompt and personal service

Rawlings have looked after my eyes for more than 10 years. All of their opticians are fantastic. A special mention to Sumila who is next-level brilliant. Thank you.

As well as being very efficient and friendly , my optician Priscilla Cunningham gave me great advice as how to deal with my dry eye issue and I mentioned my eye lids had been sore and red - and Priscilla gave me great advice as how to deal with the issue including product to use and how frequently to use it . She followed this up with an email confirming advice and products to use . Extremely helpful advice on top of a thorough eye test etc .

The service was timely, professional and friendly. I was give a clear explanation of the tests and the results. The advice I have received has always been really helpful. I have always had a good service from the team in Caterham.

I had an ear wax removal examination on 20/08/25. I was told that both ears were clear except for a bubble on the left ear drum which was an an unusual colour. I was advised to contact my GP and book eye and hearing tests. I duly had the ears examined by a GP who said there was no ear bubble and that both ear drums were clear and shining. He prescribed an antibiotic for catarrh, I have since booked hearing and eye tests at Specsavers.

A warm welcome from the staff in the Caterham branch. The whole examination is very detailed and at no time do you feel rushed or under pressure. This time no prescription changes were needed but when I have had to change my glasses, full and friendly assistance is given. Would highly recommend Rawlings everytime.

On time appointment, very experienced optician, exhaustive examination and no pressure to buy new glasses.

Very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic customer service

I was hoping to find an independent optician, but competent and caring too. From the moment I walked in, I got a good feeling. It was late in the day but I was given a clear explanation of how private/NHS care interfaced (I had lived abroad for a few years and needed to be brought up to date. I made an appointment immediately and was very happy with the exam, not least that the optometrist took careful note of my optical record from abroad.

I have been a Rawlings customer for 31 years now and they have never failed to give great service.

In the past they have gone well above and beyond to help me out, including staying open for me to get lenses before going overseas, sending out emergency lenses and moving appointments around.

Their advice and services are first class and I have never had a problem with anything.

Despite not living in the area any more I still come back to Rawlings for my sight care and have always done this, even when being over 300 miles away.

For me there is no better opticians.

Excellent optician. Pushy sales people continually trying to up-sell and not actually interested in the needs or circumstances of the customer. An example is I had to ask three times to get the full list of lens options because they didn't want to show me the cheaper option.

I've used Rawlings for many years and this kind of nonsense is what makes me want to cancel my plan and go elsewhere.
