No results no contact details

No results, no contact details for following up. Very bad experience. Returned from holiday just after Christmas and immediately took the test and posted it in a priority post box together with my husbands as it was a bank holiday. My husbands result came after 4 days, mine did not arrive until 6 days after I posted it. I could not find any contact details on the website though I found an email address by googling. No reply to my queries and I tried ringing the Boots general number several times but gave up after 30 minutes. Got a test with another company which came back within 12 hours. Now they are refusing to refund. Mistakes can happen, but there should have been a contact number for problems, as having to isolate is difficult and the company should have been honest enough to refund rather than fall back on exclusions buried in their terms and conditions

Fit-to-fly tests need to be quicker…

Fit-to-fly tests need to be quicker turnaround. There are other providers now offering results in 1-3 hours for the same price (but obviously very difficult to get timely appointments with them). A 48 hour turnaround isn't helpful. Previously used them as results were in less than 14 hours, and worked fine. Now it seems they're overwhelmed. Now looking at re-booking a flight, and re-booking with another test provider. Appalling.

Boots PCR day 2 test and Passenger Locator Form

Nowhere do Boots advise their PCR test is not acceptable to the Passenger Locator Form needed to return to the UK. I booked the test but there was no reference other than the order number. This wasn’t accepted and as a result I missed my flight and had to book a test elsewhere to get onto the next day’s flight. On return to UK I decided to have the Boots test anyway but forgot my phone. I was told no reference, no test even though they had sent me reminders and I could prove who I was. Boots and their partner Recova are totally useless.

Not a reliable service. 50% tests not returned within 72 hours

I have purchased two lots of tests from Boots for two members of my family(fit to fly and Day 2). The outgoing tests were complete at the same time. One person’s test arrived back after 27 hours and the other result was more than 72 hours before the test arrived. This meant one of my family members missed their flight and even when the result did come it was useless as it was no longer valid as more than 72 hours from test. We had to purchase another test and spend two nights in a hotel at the airport (cheaper than getting transport back home) whilst waiting for the results of a new test. He then had to purchase a new flight.
The exact same thing has happened for the Day 2 test- one test result back after 24 hours and the other test is still not here 72 hours and waiting.
The service is so hit and miss and can’t be relied upon.
I have written and called Boots customer and have had no response to date. If they can’t deliver a service reliably, they shouldn’t be offering it and certainly shouldn’t be one of the more expensive providers.

Response from Boots eventually - so effectively they are hiding behind T&Cs whilst charging a fortune for a service they cannot deliver. Here is their response-
As stated in the terms and conditions for this service, Boots will not be liable to you for any losses, costs or damages that you suffer or incur as a result of receiving a delayed test result (including, if you are unable to travel due to a delayed result). While we aim to get your result back to you within 48 hours, this cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the testing and the potential for delays.The test states that the results should be available 48 hours from the lab receiving the test not from when the test was taken. We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

It's 24 days since Recova Covid 19…

It's 24 days since Recova Covid 19 received my PCR and I have not had the result. I contacted the Boots Senior Customer service manager who gave advice on how to contact Recova I tried to follow Boots advice. No success. RECOVA have taken my money but have done nothing. Probably they have lost the test. WHAT A RIP OFF.

Terrible service

Terrible service. I had a test performed on 24th December and, after five days, I still don't have the results. I've been calling to the customer service continuously and no one is able to give me any information about my test. I've been told that I would have the results in time for a travel and I missed it. In the end, when I wanted to cancel another test that I had ordered to come back to my country of residence, they didn't let me. So I have to pay for 2 (expensive) tests without getting any result. I honestly do not understand how this company is in the government list.

Posted the sample on 18th from a priority post box way before collection time. The package was only received on 21st in the morning. Wrote 2 emails to Boots, no replay whatsoever. Avoid Recova

Report them to Citizens Advice Consumer Service!

UPDATE: Had an email from Boots (more than 2 weeks after my email to them) saying they won't refund me which is against the law. I'm reporting them to Citizens Advice Consumer Service and everyone else should too! Dont let them get away with this.

Ordered a day 2 PCR test and was sent a lateral flow. Paid £68 for something I can buy for £5!!! Nobody in the store would help exchange it or contact anyone for me. Tried calling to get them to fix it and no response. No chat service on their website. No response to my email sent almost a week ago. AWFUL behaviour. Hope boots is boycotted by many and pursued for being conmen during the pandemic.

For the second time Boots have come…

For the second time Boots have come through for us. I felt I had to write this review because of all the negative comments. We had to do a test earlier this year to fly back to Canada, Boots had our results back in plenty of time before our flight. Just arrived back in England and after a few false starts with other providers went with Boots again. Not disappointed, the process was super easy and they had our results through in no time, even though it was a weekend. Many thanks Boots.

Activation code not recognised

So the tests arrived fine, logged onto the web site fine and registered. However, having now done the test the activation code (bar code number) does not work - tells me that Test Definition is not recognised. So who knows what happens now. I'm posting it anyway.

Ordered the Day 2 PCR test kits from…

Ordered the Day 2 PCR test kits from Boots after the Lateral Flow test rules change for returning to the UK. They arrived okay whilst we were away and so we tested ourselves within minutes of our arrival and put the prepaid 24 hour Tracked delivery boxes in the local "Priority" post box at 16:40 Monday 13th Dec., collection due at 17:15 that day. Checked Royal Mail tracking and finally recorded as arrived in the local Mail Centre at 17:57 Tuesday, 24 hours to get that far! Latest update as of 17:00 Wednesday, now 48 hours, the package is still there. I know that it is not Boots fault for the delay but I would not use them again because of the risk that Royal Mail will be doing the delivery. There are plenty of other companies that have more reliable and timely collection/delivery arrangements and IF they cost a few pounds more it would be worth it for the better service. Our local Post Office are really helpful but the National Business is useless.

Waste of money

Invalid barcode message and not much I can do about it 🙄. Also trying to get help is a waste of time. Shame on Boots to associate it's name with this laboratory. Never again. Have used Randox a couple of times without any issues.

I am writing to record the appalling…

I am writing to record the appalling service provided by this company. Despite taking the money immediately they did not send the code which I needed to track the progress of the PCR test. I have had nothing from them since I paid the the money. I contacted Boots who arranged the test with Recova -19 and they were completely unhelp as usual. I would am going to make a claim against this company for none performance of the contact and for loss of income.

EXCELLENT SERVICE!

I'm so glad I didn't read any of these reviews before I booked our PCR tests at Boots. I have spent many anxious days worrying that I had not allowed enough time to get the results before we travel. We were tested at Boots yesterday and amazingly I got our results this morning. Have also ordered LFTs and PCR day 2 tests and had no issues receiving these thro the post. Sending these tests back might be a different issue, however I am very relieved that this experience has been good. Thanks to Recova 19

I ordered a day 2 PCR test from Boots…

I ordered a day 2 PCR test from Boots Chemist as I thought that they would provide a top service. I paid £69 for the test. My partner booked with another provider for £40. I had a mail stating order placed from Boots, nothing on likely delivery times. The virtual assistant does not work so I cannot track my order. I can also no longer log in to my account for unknown reasons.
Spent 40mins on phone to Boots waiting to be told that delivery may be by Wednesday. My partner received hers this morning and had fantastic updates on delivery.
Boots customer service is useless. Recova Customer information on tracking is at the moment non existent.
I have now ordered from my partner's provider and will want a refund from Boots.

It worked for my husband but I could…

It worked for my husband but I could not register my PCR test in September and never got my results despite paying £69. We went to Spain 10 days ago paid £19 each for a LFT Day 2 after arrival. Gov then changed regulations had to pay another £69 each to get Day 2 PCR tests. Could register my husbands test but not mine just keeps saying error. Can’t get through to any customer service at Boots. When it works it’s fine but can’t even delete my account and try again so cross

DO NOT USE BOOTS FOR COVID TESTING

Would give a negative review if I could - ie minus star numbers for this service. No one at Boots in store can help or know anything despite doing the 'professional' tests and don't even see the results. The lateral flow test did not allow me to upload the test results and kept on saying 'invalid barcode format' although I tried numerous ways or displaying or writing it. Customer services at Boots is a waste of time and you cannot get hold of anyone at the lab. Total rip off. DO NOT USE and still I am no further forward.
