Such a bad service that is probably a scam.

I would give negative stars if possible. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, it is a rip-off. My order has not arrived within the expected time frame, and there is no contact information, tracking, nothing, no way to obtain any details whatsoever.

Extremely poor service

Extremely poor service.
Ordered PCR day 2 test on
29th Nov:
I was waiting for Day 2 PCR test kit, didn't arrive at the end of day 3. Called them on day 3, after 30 mins of wait was told that it would arrive by evening and if it doesn't then call them again and they will reissue it. When i had called in evening, the customer representative told me that Previous representative gave me incorrect advise , i have to wait for another day to get order if i don't then i have to call them again.
The customer service wasn't even willing to give written confirmation that boots has dispatched the order from there end and they simply blamed Royal mail for it. however since Boots is Service provider , until i don't get any confirmation from Royal mail regarding delivery i can't approach royal mail.
Update on 6th Dec:
Still waiting for getting PCR Test even after day 7 (and supposed to be day 2 service) so by the time I receive the PCR test and send it back it will be way past quarantine period. Not even sure If they refund it

Avoid getting your day 2 test from Boots/Recova

Have just spent over 3 hours trying to register our negative results.
What the 'instructions' fail to tell you is that the code you have to enter has to be obtained from the QR code on the plastic test strip. It is about 26 numbers/letters long and once that has been entered you can then upload previously taken photos.
It was only through reading the negative reviews on this site that I found out how to register our result. Recova and Boots should be ashamed of themselves for the lack of information having charged about £20 for something you can pick up for free at any pharmacy.

Worked for Us....

There are a lot of negative reviews about this service but I wonder whether that's because people are more inclined to comment if they have an issue whereas those without a problem rarely bother? For my wife and myself I'm happy to report it all worked without a hitch: did the tests (lateral flow 'day2') lunchtime and received results by early evening. Neither of us are techno-whizzes (retired in our 60's, no children/grandchildren to ask!) and our phones are cheap-ish Androids, both a couple of years old. I will say the system is a little clunky and cumbersome but if you plod through it without hurrying or cutting corners then it all works OK. We would use this service again.

I couldn't register the results

I couldn't register the results of the test. I got as far as "Enter Barcode", and selecting a camera; it gave a message "Error initialising camera". I scanned the barcode and copied & pasted the long text code which began "COV...." but it still failed. I ended up calling the helpline; they were very helpful. They said to type in the long code (not paste). I did and it worked.

Recova 19 is easy to use

Have read all the negative reviews about recova 19 but I found using this service extremely easy and straightforward. Scanning the QR codes with your phone enters automatically in the fields required and uploading the photo of the test result was one click. I had a confirmed negative result and certificate emailed in about 40 mins. If you have an up to date phone you shouldn't have any problems with this.

Avoid Avoid Avoid

Went with Boots as a trusted brand so wish I hadn’t bothered, the test was simple to do but no clear instructions on how to input the results. Finally guessed what to do. Once uploaded the photo there lab seemingly have to check the results. Mine was clearly negative but when they came back they said it was inconclusive and I would need to buy another test, what a rip off. Avoid at all costs. I have also taken another NHS test which came back negative.

Quick, convenient test, but nonsense results.

I bought two x day 2 home antigen tests. Could not scan the QR codes on the test cartridges. Eventually discovered that my iPhone did not allow Safari (Boots web site) to activate the camera. (settings/safari/camera/allow)
I mention this in case anyone has the same problem.
Apart from the tech problem the tests worked fine and submitting a photo of the result is convenient.
However, I then got a text to say that both results, although clearly negative, were ‘inconclusive’. Complete nonsense. I don’t trust this company.

Useless - AVOID

Hopeless - the QR codes do not work. You cannot activate your test and upload the results of your tests - a legal requirement of course - as the QR codes on the test sticks do not match any documents when scanned. I had two of these tests and I tried them on 2 other neighbours phones as well as my own without success. The IDs associated with the QR code are also not recognised when typed into the web form. What's also very frustrating is that there is no backup process. So in the absence of being able to activate my test and upload the photo of my negative test sitting on the paper form they provide, Boots provide no means in which to upload the picture any other way, either by file upload, email etc. Wasted a lot of time not to mention stress over this. and am now basically waiting to be fined or otherwise have a knock on my door as I've broken the law. If you ring Boots and opt for the covid testing option on the line, you cannot get through for ever. The first time it happened I was on hold for nearly an hour and finally reached a helpful person who said they'd had lot of these problems, they sent me a replacement test but that also didn't work (by this time it would have been a day 5 test not a day 2 test anyway!) The second time I just plain gave up.

Boots Test Kits:

Boots Test Kits:
We bought 2 x 2 day test kits.
Added all our information on the Recova-19 app from our smart phones.
We cannot upload the test results. It is just not possible.
Waste of time and money and does not help the country deal with Covid-19.
We have entered our results on the Zoe Covid-19 app.

Given up!!

Like many others here I have given up. I am fairly IT literate and having used Iphone, Ipad, Samsung Galaxy and Mac to try to read the only barcode available and every QR code in site but still unable to upload photo of negative test. I gave up. Trying it with the barcode numbers also failed. It's a worry that this is stopping many people submitting tests that could provide useful monitoring data.

That is 4 days we will not get back

That is 4 days we will not get back. Day 2 at 1pm started the process. By about 3pm calling Boots as it was saying it wanted a bar code. What bar code? Waiting 30min for adviser. Told to ignore asking for a barcode and just click on photo icon and take photo of the QR on the cassette tape (that is where you put the liquid when you do the test). My husband mobile could not take photo of QR code. Called again at 4.30pm. Told to do test and email all our details and someone will upload for us. Got email next day to say they were unable to upload details and further instructions of how to upload results. We called 119 to inform them what had happened and they gave us email of track and trace, which we CC every time we email Boots. Got A4 page with detailed instructions and trouble shooting at each stage. Finally bases on trouble shooting after trying on PC used my lap top and scaned the QR by the window with lots of light and it is quite new unlike our PC and mobile phones. uploaded tests and lab confirmed its negative. It was on Day 4 , Did request refund. AS good will only got refund for one of the test. The call handler did say there has been problems and the senior complaints person I was emailing said there was no problems. The only good thing seeing these reviews I feel the governemnt would not take any further action and when I checked, Boots is not on approved list of tests on governemnt web site. I wonder why.

Impossible to submit results!

Like many others - found it impossible to submit results after doing the Day 2 Test on return from visit to USA.
Instructions say enter the Bar Code from the tube - the only bar code is on the box and this is unacceptable.
Gave up in despair. Like someone else said - my result is negative, I have a photo to prove it - come and get me!

Money making scam, DO NOT BUY FROM THESE

I have used this service due to having no choice as i needed to go abroad for work. i have paid over £500.00 in tests for me and another employee. Out of a total of 8 tests, 6 have come back inconclusive despite the fact the instructions were followed exactly as it was written in the day 2 & 8 packs. This resulted in me having to pay another £90.00 per person at the airport for a test there. Emailed to complain and basically got told nothing they could do. Massive money making scam!! I would not be surprised if the swabs never even see a lab!

Service is not fit for purpose

Service is not fit for purpose. To start with,of the two packs received one had no instruction/presentation sheet enclosed.Instruction to take a photo before opening the QR app. is incorrect. That is if you can get your QR reader to work. Once, having got to send our result, which were without doubt,"negative", back comes a lab. result " inconclusive", inviting you to take another test @ £42 for the two.COMPLETE SCAM.
