Having read the reviews I was very apprehensive above rent4sure however, I found the service exceptionally efficient. I provided all the documents requested and found the very polite nudge to chase the references helpful. As moving is so stressful, it was important for me for the process to be quick and once documents were submitted, myself and my guarantor were passed on the same day.

Really poor communications and no one seems to talk to each other. Having sent all the documents they asked for, I get an automated email asking for some of the same documents. When I phone them they say just ignore the email. Then I get another, and another. I get a message asking me to call them, and when I call them....oh, no need to call us, it's all done. Wasted hours of my time and money chasing them up for no reason.

Working with Rent4Sure was one of the most frustrating referencing processes I have ever been through. Everything from the system of uploading documents, to the people I dealt with over the phone, displayed not only incompetence but just a general lack of knowledge or empathy to people who are obviously in the stressful situation of trying to move house. The system for uploading documents and inputting information had no way for you to review the inputted information afterwards, and once submitted if you had missed key information they still required you needed to get in touch with Rent4Sure separately to access that.
I also had the misfortune of both working in an organisation that doesn't provide personal references and having a previous landlord who was highly unresponsive over the phone. Despite calling them every single day from the time they requested the information, I was consistently given different information from Rent4Sure employees and my notes around my employment and landlord situation were rarely taken on board or acknowledged in the referencing process.
A week after my referencing had begun, I had uploaded an assortment of documents sharing the entirety of my financials, a generically generated work reference and contact details for not one but two landlords, neither of which was satisfactory. It was only when I called and was clearly upset and angry on the phone with them, that they decided to launch into action on my referencing case, all the while being well aware I was waiting on this referencing process to serve my notice.
I would personally never engage in referencing with this company again, there is a complete lack of recognition around the completely normal procedure that companies often have policies around personal or financial references. And they were completely reluctant to look at alternatives around unresponsive private landlords, despite having a satisfactory reference from my existing landlord which they claimed they could not use because I had been there less than 3 months.
Equally, when I called to voice my complaints and concerns about the lack of consistency in approach and communications, I was told they were operating within policy and the particular woman "wasn't actually dealing with my case" so she couldn't "comment". Which again was particularly unhelpful in tone and approach.

One of the most stressful referencing processes I have had to go though. Disappointed in the process. I have rented for over 10 years in multiple areas and no issues.
Polite but they kick up a fuss over every little detail even though I have a very stable job in the NHS. They did not contact my landlord with the right email. My landlord had to contact them himself and I needed to double check. There were other issues and we had to double check every step of the process. Never had an issue before with references. I would not recommend rent4sure
