Rentola Shady Subscription Charges SCAM

Rentola's webpage does not CLEARLY state that after a week you will be charged, $55 for an ongoing subscription! I was just advised of this fraudulent and deceptive charge from my credit card company. This clause is well hidden in the small print and seriously abuses the rights of customers. It should be made clear when you sign up for the $2 trial period. I will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau. I want my money back, I cannot afford this excessive charge and your site was completely useless in helping me find an apartment. You should be ashamed of yourselves taking advantage of people this way. Horrible organization! Also this operations runs out of the UK not even in CANADA! Stay away from it!

I have subscribed from the website to…

I have subscribed from the website to find an apartment & paid $2 for trial period of 7 days. After finding a suitable apartment from other property agents, I would like to cancel the subscription, otherwise I will be charged monthly. As I didn't know how to cancel the subscription. I left a message and Abhinav helped me to unsubscribe the website effectively to avoid being charged.

Do not trust this site

Do not trust this site. You have to sign up for $1e for a free trial if you want to message a landlord you must pay for a subscription. Once I signed up after a few days I could NOT cancel my subscription after following the process did not receive email confirm-there is NO customer service and I have emailed info@rentola and get back bot responses to links on how to cancel membership. There is no way to remove your credit card information off the site either. I have spent too much time trying to get out of this membership "free trial" that they will charge you 39.99 every month for a service that just takes info from other websites . They do not really deal directly with any landlords they just gather what's already out there and put on their site and make it very very difficult to cancel. Really bad site

Our trial is offered for a small fee, and if it is not cancelled before the trial period ends, it automatically continues as a full subscription at the standard monthly rate. This is clearly outlined during sign-up and in the Terms and Conditions.
We also provide a platform to access rental listings and contact details from landlords, property managers, and agencies. We do not own these listings, and it is the responsibility of the listing owner to update or remove them.
The emails subscription confirmation and cancellation are sent automatically upon the action taken. If you did not receive them, please check your spam or junk folder, as this is dependent on your email provider and settings.

To help you manage your subscription, including cancellation or account queries, our support team is available via the contact form on our website. This is the proper channel for assistance rather than replying to automated emails which our team won't receive.
For security reasons, we do not store CVV codes or full credit card numbers on our platform, but you can manage your subscription and payment method securely via your account and if you wish to delete your account this is also possible and our support team can assist with this.

Fraudulent

The site tried to defraud me for $55 when I never used their services. They misrepresent property to attract attention. After I approved the $2 and paid it, they believed they already had my card details. They tried to withdraw $55 from my account without my approval. When you visit their site to remove your card or update it, they only allow the CVV or the EXPIRE date. The card number can not be changed. That is a sign of desperation and preplanned to defraud people. Avoid them.

Complete lack of transparency and…

Complete lack of transparency and definitely takes advantage of the obscurity in their terms and conditions. I paid the $2 required for a test period of 1 week and got billed $55 immediately after without any notice beforehand on the same day that I cancelled the subscription. Spare yourself and use one of the countless free platforms out there, they do not provide any unique or valuable service whatsoever and simply prey on desperate customers navigating an unfavourable market.

A total scam of a website

A total scam of a website; don't waste your money. I purchased one month subscription and then cancelled, so they offered me 14 days extension only to bill me full month extension at the end of the 13th day. They did not clearly specify that auto renewal of premium subscription will happen and when made a dispute on it they simply use the terms and conditions as excuses. They have implication that the subscription is only renewed for 14 days....customer service is a waste and people at the other end might as well be robots...they might be AI tbh.

THIS IS A SCAM

THIS IS A SCAM. Please stay away from this website. I wanted to find an apartment. In the fast life we have, I did not mind them taking 2$ for the service. However, this is a trick to get you to provide your card information and also agree to terms (which anyone rarely reads) for them to take 55$ in a week as a monthly subscription. If they were genuine they would warn you via email a day or 2 before the charge. Please stay away from them for peace of mind.

On the same day I was charged 55$ I immediately cancelled the subscription and emailed Rentola to return my money. They seem to have an automated reply that says the 55$ is in their terms and conditions. I then wrote this review on Trustpilot to warn others. Only then did Rentola email me basically trying to take down my comment which I refused. After a series of emails the lady offered to return half the money which I also refused and instead contacted my credit card company about this fraud. Thankfully, the credit card campany has accepted my claim and I will get a full refund from Rentola. This shows that I was right and Rentola was wrong. What if Rentola's terms had said the subscription fee is 1000$ or 10,000, or 1,000,000$? Does that mean that by clicking 'I accept' I would be indebted to them that much? Just clicking I accept but not consuming any of your services should be enough grounds to fully refund my money especially if I cancel the same day. Rentola you are wrong and a fraud causing so much pain for your greed.

When creating a subscription with us, it costs a lower amount in the intro period - afterwards you are charged standard price for each subscription period until you choose to cancel the subscription. This is brought to your attention when you register and it is also stated in our terms and conditions which you have to accept in order to create a subscription. When the subscription is created you also receive a confirmation email with the terms and condition clearly stated.
If you do not wish to continue the premium membership, you can cancel anytime via your account settings or by contacting customer service.

We have been in contact with you via email and offered you a solution which you did not accept.

I think your customer service is great. I don’t find any benefit with rentola. I canceled my account and got the confirmation from them but that are keep trying to charge $55 on my credit card.
