Please avoid this company
Please avoid this company. They really do not care when you are trying to transfer to another provider. I believe they make the process as difficult as possible in the hopes you will give up. Never keep you updated and when you ring you are fobbed off and I just think it's absolutely shocking. After reading all the negative reviews on here I agree 100%.
Three years and can't change an email
I am a member as my company used RetireReady, however I have since left the company and country. Over the last 3 years I have submitted numerous cases and called several times to change my email address, which is still showing as the work email.
Initially it was due to their website not accepting an overseas phone number to make the change on-line but with each call I was assured it was changed and that correspondence would come to me. It still hasn't and if they can't change an email (after many tries), I can only assume that the rest of the operation is similarly incompetent.
Awful company!
Trying to cash in a very small pension & they are doing everything possible to stop/delay my request.
Wasted hours on the phone, wasted hours on their awful website, that is not fit for purpose.
Their staff are unhelpful & their complaint procedure is terrible.
Avoid doing business with this company at all cost!
Website has been down for days, appalling customer service
Website has been down for days, have tried numerous times to log in but not successful. Went online through chat to be told as I wasn’t verified through their security they couldn’t give out any information, I pointed out I could not be verified through their website as it is down and has been for days! I was then told through their web chat to call a number, 30 minute wait still nothing. Asked for a complaint form or to discuss with a supervisor and was told “No” and the chat ended. Appalling customer service from a company I expected more of.
4th review
4th review! Still not resolved!!!!
Tried to move my pension out of this terrible service to HL, after Aegon confirmed they fixed their error and rectified my NI which they inputted incorrectly.
HL tell me Aegon still haven't corrected the NI number, despite Aegon sending me a letter saying it's been corrected.
Terrible terrible just terrible
Where do I start. Made contact via the phone as I could not understand the different figures on different pages of the website once logged in. Also trying to set my retirement planner up.
Its all over the place. Eventually got through done the security started talking about the issues. The first person said sorry not my department. Passed me on went through security again. Started talking about the issue again. This person also said sorry not my department I will pass you to the right department 30 mins has passed. I just gave up, I feel now the only reason I'm with Aegon it's a company pension. If
I move out then I loose the additional amount the company put in. I sure Aegon know this. How many others have stuck it out because of the additional amount their employer puts in.
Absolutely shocking
Absolutely shocking
Every time you go through their live chat they stall and give you another line to contact.
Tried to choose funds to a simple all world low cost etf was told I needed a financial advisor to do this but their fund is returning me a measley 5% in two years where as all world is up almost 20% in the same time for half the expenses.
Get charged a transaction fee every time they do something despite having one choosen fund they are forever shifting things about no doubt to earn the extra fees. I hope my workplace pension moves soon
Poor support
Had a group pension with a previous employer. When I left this was transferred to a SIPP after a while. All it did was sit there with Aegon taking money monthly. I did contact them with no help other than I could transfer to another provider. I ended up £11000 down.
Incompetence and stalling tactics
Like everyone else I have had very poor customer service.
Nearing retirement age I wanted to take my 25% tax free allowance from my pension.
Managed to speak with a person via online chat. Curt and not polite. Apparently I have to make an appointment to talk to a member of staff to discuss this before they will even send me forms. 2 weeks wait for a telephone appointment!!! Then it will take 6-8 weeks to process this due to 'it being highly regulated'. Can't get any forms or actual information on their very poor website.
I have been through this process with other companies and never come across such incompetence or stalling tactics. Once this transaction has been completed I will look to transfer my funds.
They are taking the mick
Clunky old website. Key info is not available (eg what are the service charges on my account? What is the performance of the fund I am invested in?). Charges are fairly high (and not transparent). I have other investment accounts on modern platforms that make this look like it's in the stone age. They are just taking advantage of people's apathy towards workplace pensions. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
The Retireready platform is rubbish to…
The Retireready platform is rubbish to be frank.
Key data that you find on other pension platforms is missing. I cannot believe I have to get my calculator out and also spend time searching for the fund on the internet to get the data I need. Really poor. Vague and not fit for purpose.
Very poor to deal with...
Very poor to deal with. Their customer support is never available and they go out of their way to make it as difficult as possible for you to move you pension into another provider (e.g. a SIPP).
I never understand companies who obsess about preventing you from leaving instead of asking the basic question of why, exactly, it is that people want to leave in the first place.
Very poor platform for managing your…
Very poor platform for managing your pension. Trying to deal with them was terrible I should have move my pension to another provider years ago. There are far better platforms than Aegon Retiready
When is a complaint not a complaint
When is a complaint not a complaint, when you speak with Retiready!
Abysmal company. I have lost a big percentage of my pension pot which was in a high risk fund without me realising, as I was nearing retirement and although I was previously told otherwise.
Almost impossible to get through to anyone on the phone and when I complained via their platform I got an initial response from their fund managers private email address. When I responded I was told that he could not continue the email conversation as it was a security risk, a little bit too late and I need to complain via their phone and that my complaint was not a complaint!
Tried to complain on their phone but my phone battery and patience expired before I was able to talk with anyone. I have now taken my money out and put it elsewhere, so please, please avoid this Company!
Terrible company
Terrible company. Like many others, I have lost a big percentage of my pension pot which was in a high risk fund without me realising. I have now taken my money out and put it elsewhere. Very disappointing!
Can't access my account
Can't access my account in the past few months, the login page always under maintenance. Even though no maintenance still impossible to get through. So fed-up.
Almost impossible to get through to…
Almost impossible to get through to anyone in a reasonable time and before the battery on your phone runs out. Chat also seems to leave you hanging for ever…
Over 2 hours so far wasted because of “unusually high call volumes”. I guess they mean unusually few people working on their support desk.
I definitely would avoid these people.
Pension pot has gone down the drain in 2023 thanks to this company
My original pension company was taken over and transferred to Retiready. At the time I wasn't aware that their fees were so high at 0.5%. Pension has now gone down the drain in the past year with this company. Last year it made money and this year I have lost a large percentage. My other investments elsewhere have made money but Retiready has now made me retire unready with such big losses. I have now switched to a new provider recommended by Which which has fees of 0.15%.
Please look for another Pension Provider
Do not put your money into their pension. I had a small fund with them.18 months ago it was worth £27k, last week it was worth £17k. Yes, that's correct it has dropped £10k! I looked today and it has dropped another £200.00. I can't afford to lose that sort of money. I will now have to pay someone to investigate this for me. I will also write to Money Mail for help and maybe write to my MP as the government keeps saying whatever you do make sure you put your hard-earned cash into a pension. All my friends and colleague's funds are making money not losing 30%. This can't be right. Can it?
In hindsight, I would have been better off taking it out 2 years ago and putting it into a basic savings account.
Retiready's response is "Oh well that's the market for you"
Can't access my account
Can't access my account , eventually get an email saying you have a secure message , how to access ? Log into your account. Let's go around the circle again !! Absolutely useless and now as I retire , I can get my pension
