Behaving like a dead company
It's almost impossible to register with the website to see my pension details and when I tried to book a call it just threw me out declaring no agents available. Is this company being wound down? How on earth does it win any new business if not?
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Appears to be impossible to get hold of anyone through we chat or email.
Impossible to get hold of anyone to…
Impossible to get hold of anyone to talk about withdrawing my pension. I have tried emailing and get an automated response with a case number. weeks later still no response. Held on phone for ages then cuts out. Webchat either does not connect or states closing due to no agents available. Using retiready is graduating from frustration to anger. How is this company allowed to operate and deal with peoples money?????

Appalling fund management over the last 5 years (much worse than my other providers and even when you try and cash in your Pension the website suddenly announces at the last minute that it is temporarily unavailable and no doubt will remain so now until after the Easter Break - Avoid this organisation at all costs !!

I'm trying to cash in my lump sum of my pension for few days. I get to the point it says to click for lump sum then it says is offline try again.
When you try again the same thing happens.
Also can you explain why I have to leave £1000 in the account?
Website almost always on maintenance…
Website is almost always on maintenance meaning you can’t log in, and to this day there still isn’t a dedicated app and the official Aegon app doesn’t let me log in duh
Terrible website, bad service and no satisfactory answers
Terrible website, not up to date. And support diabolical. I ended up emailing the CEO and even than the company could not supply me with satisfactory answers to may questions. I will be advising my company to look somewhere else for the company pension.
THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BY THE REGULATORS
I agree with everyone's view on this company who scored them 1 star as I have faced the same diabolical service for around 2 years now and would award them nil stars if I could, I cannot understand why our Government promotes pensions especially to our younger generation when this company appears to mismanage customers life savings and gets away with the worst customer service I have ever come across. I finally pulled my pension from them at a considerable loss, but I will be fighting them until a satisfactory solution can be reached.
Do not trust Aegon with your money
About to retire and found that Aegon had helped themselves to a third of my funds - apparently in management fees. These people are rogues and I strongly advise that you avoid Aegon or move your funds elsewhere.
Shocking company who has delays my…
Shocking company who has delays my transfer out requests.
Very poor website, poor service, much better offerings elsewhere.
Where to start with the retireready portal and Aegon service in general. Expect random errors on the retireready portal, expect to get warnings that your account has been locked for no reason. When you phone, you will be told you are not a retireready customer but some other random team must help you. Expect to spend forever on hold. When you finally get through to someone they are limited help and will offer to phone back but never, ever, do. It's a poor product with crappy user interface, buggy, and backed by very poor service. Avoid.
No app & poor website
It's nearly 2023 and stingy Dutch pension company, Aegon, still does not provide an app for policyholders. I have pensions with Aviva, Scottish Widows and Fidelity who all offer apps, not just a cheap website like Aegon. It's really annoying to have to download pdf's from a substandard website. Data is hard to access, but the fees are still high. I have phoned them about this and a scared person reading from a script tells me there are no plans to release an app in spite of their billions of pounds of assets under management.
They lost £2444 / 80% of my money!! >:(
I had a pension with Retiready from Aegon. I was previously contributing £100 a month, then £200 with no problem. Since combining my previous pension with Aviva I had since increased my contribution to £400 per month for the last 6 months with an extra £100 government contribution. It was always set to a low risk account.
My recent contributions including tax relief have been £3000 but upon checking they have clearly high risk reinvested my money to show I have only a total of £556. They lost £2444 / 80% of my money. I have immediately applied to transfer my whole pension back to Aviva.
I put forward a complaint via customer service in the evening and the next day I received an email from them "I’ve thoroughly investigated your concerns and can’t agree we’ve acted incorrectly regarding your fund performance. I appreciate this isn’t the decision you hoped for, but I hope my email will help you understand my outcome." It is impossible to "throughly investigate my complaint" within a few hours.
Need Investigating
Totally disgusted! I had a small pension pot where my company also contributed, over the years this was moved about a number of times within Aegon Group, just recently another automated letter arrived stating it had been moved again as I had less than seven years to retirement. I presumed this was ‘less risky investment’, since then (9 months) the pot has reduced by a near 20% including a monthly admin fee of up to a near £14 a month ouch! I thought this had been clamped down on.
Not knowing what to do I thought it may be best to transfer it to my other pension (same size pot but lost very little) I contacted Retiready asking what transfer fees were along with another query. I was given an automated case number and that was it no response whatsoever.
In the end I transferred it all out, (the letter along with the transaction was very basic to the point, no ‘thank you for your custom’ etc), makes you wonder if there are any humans to deal with anything once a customer.
They just appear to be a complete rip off.
My pension pot is with Aegon Retiready
My pension pot is with Aegon Retiready. I would definitely not recommend Aegon Retiready.
1) Their support system is appalling. I have had an ongoing problem for at least 4 years with posting support requests using their online system. Whenever I post one it simply disappears. The only way I can get it to reappear is to email someone directly and hope that they manually add my request. I then have to wait for weeks, sometimes months for someone to reply. When I use their chat system, the person at the other end is helpful but there is never any follow up. The same happens when I use their telephone support and the last call I made cost 8 GBP.
2) Earlier this year I received a statement and found that the value of my pot had been reduced by about 20% of its value in less than 2 weeks. It's a very small pot to start with. The value of my pension pot is now less than it was in 2017. I know 'global factors' play a part in the value of pensions but this seems suspiciously excessive to me. I've made repeated requests for information about this and I'm still waiting for a reply. I do not think I am ever going to get one.
I am no longer working and will want to start drawing my pension in 2023. If its value goes down any more than it already has, it will hardly be worth bothering with.
Utterly, utterly dreadful
I have been trying to activate my Retiready account (provided through my employer) for nearly three months now, with seemingly no way to move forward. The original link I was sent didn't work, and there is no way to contact the firm at all. If you call the number, you eventually get through to Aegon customer services who say they can't help and then put you on indefinite hold to Retiready. If you go through the online chat, which is where everything points you, it never connects. I tried to make a complaint, only to receive an automatic holding response and then nothing further until I was sent a follow up email a week later asking how my experience was and whether my query was resolved. Obviously having not been contacted at all, this was pretty frustrating.
Obviously as an individual employee you don't have any control over the platform offered by the employer, but if anyone from a HR/personnel department is reading this and considering using Aegon or Retiready for their business: don't. Your employees will thank you.
Absolute joke of a company
Absolute joke of a company. AVOID! My terminally ill husband has been trying to claim his pension funds now for over 4 months (he only has 6 months to live). First of all (unknown to us) they sent the wrong forms for the doctor to fill in, then they said all was well and they were ready to pay out, now months later they're saying they need more forms signed (more money to spend out and more time wasted). Hours wasted on hold, constantly bounced off the line, no response to e.mails.....disgusting service adding stress to any already stressful time. This company does not care AT ALL. Quick to take money, obstructive in paying out! STILL we are being given more and more hoops to jump through, never knowing if they are the right ones or not. We will be contacting the ombudsman!
Total lack of support.
I have a work pension from a company i now no longer work for I decided to take it out as a small pot as i,m over 55 and it is doing nothing, just shrinking due to admin fees!! I filled in all the forms requested to take the money out, but have received no reply as to what is happening. The website is full of unhelpful jargon and customer chat/phone and email do not get answered. This company needs to be investigated for illegal practice.
A very bad customer service plus a low income
A very bad customer service plus a low profit and high charges makes this retirement option the worst I've ever suffer.
They never answer to your requests, never in the chat, never by email, they treat you like you were nobody.
Everything was very good and polite when you were planning to open the account, but once you are in and try to withdraw your money or close the positions, they cheat you and give you whatever they want claiming that the valuation was lower than it is, even when you just have seen it higher, besides they charge you whatever they want with no explanation. SCAM. Never ever again, and if your trust me put your money somewhere else, this is the only way that we, as customers, have to tell them, Aegon, they are a bad company and not trustful at all.
Do not use this company
Do not use this company. I had an impossible time trying to contact the company about a change of address. I wrote a letter of complaint to the company about this, asking for the changes to be made. Eventually I received a letter from David C Beattie, Customer Services Director, confirming that the change of address had been made, however the letter was sent to the previous address. If the Customer Services Director can’t get things right how is the rest of the company going to.
