I approached Richer Sounds in Birmingham as I wanted to completely update my home cinema system.
This would mean spending a HUGE amount.
Over the last week I've been speaking predominantly with Bernie at Birmingham Richer Sounds.
We've just today got to the point through negotiation where I've got a price I'm happy with and have placed my order getting all my items from Richer Sounds.
My experience with Bernie has been at such a high level that I thought no longer existed in customer services anywhere these days.
Bernie knows his stuff. I'm a tech head myself and Bernies knowledge was accurate regarding every item I was purchasing. Very impressive.
Every time Bernie said he'd call back or email me... he did. What other company actually does that these days? Not many and especially if you still haven't spent any money yet.
Bernie and the other members of staff I spoke to were friendly but also professional.
I was happy that Bernie came through with a good price as customer service is important to me and I wanted to give him my custom.

CAUTION!!: Long Detailed Review Due To Exceptional Customer Service and a Very Happy Customer!
Due to a new house move, I was looking at a completely new dolby atmos cinema setup and had done extensive research on products that would fit my budget. I thought I would pop into the Birmingham store to see if any of the products I had decided upon were on display in store and to also discuss my setup with a member of the team.
I went into store on a Wednesday and spoke to Sam who was absolutely brilliant, he took time to listen to me and then discussed my proposed setup and gave me honest advice (good and bad) regarding each component that I had chosen.
He didn’t actively try to upsell to me but instead offered advice on products at both ends of the scale which would allow me to make an informed decision.
After leaving the store that day I went away to think/ research about the advice I had been offered, I decided that I was now going to go for a better AV receiver and also better atoms speakers to compliment my screen and room size.
I then received a follow up call from Sam on Sunday asking if there was anything else he could help with or if I needed any more information on the products we had discussed.
I explained to Sam that I had now decided on the products that I wanted but that I had found them cheaper online and due to the price difference I may have to purchase from a competitor (although I preferred to purchase from RS due to the service).
Sam advised me to come and speak to him before placing my order with the competitor and that he was in store until 4pm that day.
Unfortunately due to work I was running late to get to the store by 4pm and called Sam to explain… he said that this was not a problem and that he was happy to keep the store open for me.
Once I arrived, Sam once again went through my requirements and attempted to see if he could do any better on the Richer sounds advertised prices…
After showing him the competitors prices online, Sam explained that he would be able to match the deal if I wanted to purchase from Richer Sounds… (This was always going to happen if the deal could be matched)
I went ahead and purchased a Denon 4400 AV receiver and Focal Sib Atoms speaker package on this visit… my transaction wasn’t complete until 4:30pm but none of Sam, Simon or Bernie who were in store showed any discontent that they had to keep the store open for me and were more than helpful when discussing my future requirements for my games room setup.
I have now set everything up and I am blow away by the quality of the speakers and the options on the Receiver (Previously had pioneer receiver with B&W Speakers) this setup is on a completely different level!!
You have yourself a very happy customer for life….
And to prove this…
I have since purchased a 50’ 4k TV and Sanus bracket.
I am now looking at a Heos speaker and an additional TV for my kitchen… you guessed it.. the only place I will be buying from is Richer Sounds!!

I purchased a LG OLED TV and the manager agreed to a home installation [I am disabled] for the next day
Bernie arrived punctually with the new tv ,he removed my old tv etc and installed the new one tuning and programming completely followed by giving me full instructions ,then clearing away all the packaging.

Everytime I need something they all ways very helpful. The service is first class.
I had arranged to go do a demo on some new speakers .

Sam looked after me on my visit
Sam looked after me on my visit, he guided me through selecting the right equipment for the particular need that I wanted. He changed both amplifier and speakers to reach the best combination that performed best for me, I was a hard customer to please as I had moved from a house to an apartment. This meant my large stand alone speakers I had to sell were to be replaced by much smaller bookshelf ones, this was solved by his skill and knowledge of products that would be suitable.
Thank you Sam, a much better buying experience than I had the previous week at the Lichfield store.
