An almost essential piece of kit for any driver.

Well made and reliable. Easy to use with essential information recorded on a continuous loop.
I particularly like the sensor that freeze frames any sudden events and protects the data for future reference. It is so sensitive that sometimes it will be activated if the vehicle hits a pothole but this is not really a problem.
It's nice to know that it's in the vehicle and I almost forgot it's there sometimes.
Not cheep but probably one of the best on the market. I recently bought another for a second car.

The company seems fine. Unfortunately, the product is worse than useless.

Bought the RoadHawk, based on good reviews over a number of websites. Installed it with no trouble and used it for a few weeks, after which it seemed to take longer and longer to switch on, sometimes only turning on as I finished my one-hour commute.

In the end, it would not switch on at all. Because I am working six days a week, I have no time or inclination to struggle with customer service over something like this.

Timmy Toads Dash Cam

Hi i really love my RoadHawk HD dash cam, the first event i recorded was when i ran into the back of a new Astra and wrote it off, allegedly.

I have posted several other recorded events on my FaceBook, mainly other drivers doing naughty things, but sadly the cops aren't interested unless they see the unlawful manoeuver for themselves, swiz !!!

I am very pleased with the quality of the recordings, the RoadHawk software is OK, but could be better,

Good camera good price

Used for horse riding. Many attachments to fit all sorts of helmet/ dashboard. Good picture and sound. Easy to use and great value for money.
Visible to other road users from the side of my helmet and does seem to make a difference

Loving my HD-2

Bought my HD-2 to finally capture evidence of idiots driving on the road. Haven't looked back since. Great quality video with the added bonus of GPS and speedo. My only slight niggle is that sometimes the GPS can take a few minutes to kick in

Fantastic product at a great price and fab customer service!

The HD Roadhawk was bought as a late Xmas present and I was worried it wouldn't arrive on time. Turns it it was delivered less than 2 days after the order was placed. It was packed really well and I really liked that there was nothing on the packaging to show where it was from (boyfriend took delivery and it was for him). When he eventually got around to fitting this new toy it was very easy to install both the camera and software on his laptop. Overall, a top product and brilliant experience. I will buy another in the near future for my car. Thanks Roadhawk!!

Great video but unreliable product

When I first installed this dashcam I was impressed with the video quality and range, but then I realised it doesn’t have WiFi, Bluetooth, or a smartphone app to help set it up. This means having to take the card out and insert it in a PC/MAC to check that the camera angle and settings are suitable.

The PC software is quite good but then I encountered my first issue. When formatting the SD card on a PC, you need to carefully follow the instructions, or the card simply isn’t recognised by the camera. The MAC software worked well, but there is no 32 bit Win10 version (only 64bit).

The video captured is as good as any, but then my real problems started. After around 10 days of operation the camera stopped working. However, this was only apparent when I took the card out and tried viewing the video. After contacting Support they suggested reformatting the card, but no lights would come on and the camera refused to start. I had two SD cards, but neither of these got the camera running again. I sent the camera back (at my cost) and very quickly RoadHawk examined the camera, agreed there was a fault and sent me a new one.

Everything worked fine again for about another 10 days when guess what? The camera went completely dead and wouldn’t respond again. Once more this was only apparent when I went to view the video on the PC and found that it had stopped recording mid journey, a couple of days previously. At this point I got fed up and returned the camera and cards. Was quickly given a full refund.

In summary, great video capture, with professional support team (quick to respond and helpful), but unreliable product lacking some of the features of other dashcams, such as WiFi, smartphone app or monitoring whilst parked. I also think it’s a bit expensive considering the lack of features. If you get one make sure you keep the original box – it’s perfect for sending it back.

I replaced this dashcam with a Blackvue with which I am completely happy.

The RoadHawk

The RoadHawk HD I purchased some time ago is a amazing piece of kit, I have used it on several cases of proving my speed in one ocaision. But hopefully not in the case of an accident.
I would recommend the purchase of the device if you do a lot of mileage in you vehicle it's a must in today's trafic.

Roadhawk HD Dashcam

DCS Systems is an excellent company to deal with - prompt replies to queries and very good service. As regards the Roadhawk HD camera, 4 stars given as the initial item I was supplied with was faulty but was exchanged with the minimum of fuss. The replacement has been without fault. The picture quality is excellent and the software for the camera is easy to manage. A very worthwhile purchase which gives peace of mind when travelling but also encourages the user to drive safely because remember your driving habits are being recorded too!

A truly amazing product

I have had my road hawk now for 3 years it has been moved from 2 cars and never lets me down. A truly silent driving friend, that is there when needed, but often forgotten as it records the madness of others on the road and always giving me piece of mind should I ever need it.

Okay,

This camera works as it should, though it is let down by the lack of review screen and the only way you can see what your recording is via computer when you take the card out, so you cant set it as you want it without removing the card and looking on your computer to see it's positioned as you want, it is the only way. also compared to my other camera a "Transend 200" the night time pictures are disappointing, would I buy another roadhawk, no, there are many cameras out there a lot cheaper with as many if not more features that are easily as good if not better than this model.

Excellent, well engineered unit

I have 4 units and in the main have worked well, one failure over the current 4 and previous 4 units. Their major shortcomming is the poor nightvision which would be improved by using IR filter which is removed for night use.

Great product

Recently upgraded my old Roadhawk to the new HD camera. Highly recommended, has made me change my driving habits, I'm a more careful driver because it records everything! Playback via a PC is sharp, sound is good and all the data seems accurate. Go get one!
