I loved every minute of this book

I loved every minute of this book! As a junior MXer in the 80s, I worshipped the GP guys and went to watch regularly. This book brought it all to life in glorious first person detail, with fantastic insight from Rob.
Thanks for a great read Rob, I wish there was more to the story, so you could write a sequel!!!

Reading this book brings great memories...

Reading this book, it is not only a great read, but brings so many memories of such a great time in Motocross, with references to many Riders names I hadn't heard of for quite a while, so many great riders in that era, sadly some no longer with us, You had a great adventure Rob, and it was a privilege to be able to share it, Thanks.

The inside line book

The inside line book, transported me back to hanging over the fences in Namur and standing under that huge double jump in Brou. It filled in the gaps that a Grand Prix fan never new.

A great read

A great read, the best Motocross book I’ve read and a true account of just how tough it was to make it as a pro rider back in the 80’s and 90’s. I particularly enjoyed the Namur sections as they are absolutely how I remembered things as a fan when I visited in the 80’s and 90’s! Also thoroughly enjoyed by my Dad, now well into his 90’s, who spent many an hour on my bikes and taking me all over when I competed many many years ago. Well done Rob and team!

Excellent Visual and a Competitors View of The Motocross Golden Years

The 80's were the golden years for 500cc Motocross, the premier class. The bikes were brutal and the men that rode them were made of iron. Rob Andrews went from a privateer to a full factory racer through hard work and determination. His books is one of the best written about this time period. Full of wonderful photo's that brings back memories of tracks no longer used and highlights the difference in the racing compared to today but also the size of the crowds and the enthusiasm for the racing at this time. Add in the funny stories, the travels and escapades makes for a must read.

"The Inside Line". The Golden Era of MX expertly conveyed in this great book.

Having read some of Rob's accounts of his Motocross career on Facebook I was instantly looking forward to this book when he announced it. "The Inside Line" is a great nostalgic look at the Golden Era of Motocross. Namely the 1980's. The book is very well written and the photos are fantastic. The quality of the materials of the book is also exceptional. I couldn't put it down when I got it and have read it twice more since. If like me you're a fan of this era of MX then you need this book. The chapter on Namur is amazing. That's my only spoiler in this review. To top it off Rob also signed the book for me which was a very welcome and unexpected touch. Thanks Rob for taking the time to write "The Inside Line".

This uniquely written book about 500cc Motocross

This uniquely written book about how the 500cc Motocross World Championship was run behind the scenes during the 80's. These were, in my humble opinion, the best years in the MX world and having one of those riders document this in a book only adds to the enjoyment of the read.
Great stories and fantastic photographs to make you feel you are back in that time again. The sound of 500 Two Strokes and the smell of Castrol R.

I was also lucky to be racing during this period and still do (only wobbling around now). Some of the things Rob writes about brought back some of my own memories. Often, I was at some of the GP's watching Rob and the other riders. (Farleigh Castle and Hawkstone Park from 81 to 89).

Once I started to read the book I just couldn't put it down. Very rarely does a book hold me like this one did. Wining by Clive Woodwood was my number one book but now its distance number two behind "The Inside Line"

Great book on the ins and outs of MX !

As a MX rider with many years of experience it was very easy to relate to Mr Andrews talking about the in’s and outs of the MX world . His explanation of starting line butterfly’s was the best explanation of how it feels to be on the starting line at an event ! Great book bought one for myself and thoroughly enjoyed it , then bought another as a gift for my son !

Motocross at its best!!!

I read this book from cover to cover within a couple of days. This was because it was so informative, I didn't want to put it down. I watched Rob Andrews numerous times in action during the tales of this book. I wondered many times what it was like to be a motocross rider, travelling to + from Grand Prix as unfortunately I never had the opportunity. Motocross has been a massive interest in my life from seeing it regularly on BBC grandstand + ITV world of Sport when I was a small child. This book has answered many thoughts, questions etc what it was like to be a high profile rider. The chapter on Namur,GP of Belgium is fabulous, a venue I have been lucky to witness Rob in action. The photographs in the book are brilliant, and even though it's been read I still look through it regularly ( more like a reference book).
