If you love motocross

If you love motocross, especially from the formative years of the sport then you must read this book. It's personal nature and detail of life on the GP circuit and getting there is very poignant and riveting. High quality book and loved reading about the MX heroes i read about as a kid that made me love the sport and riding. Thank you so much Rob!

Rob's book is incredible and will make you an insomniac!

I purchased Rob's book and quickly thumbed through it just to see all of the quality pictures. I was so impressed by those that I thought they nearly justified the cost of the book! Once I started reading it, it was difficult to put it down. Rob's insight regarding what it was like to compete at the highest level of motocross makes one truly understand just how much commitment and sacrifice it takes for the racer, their support team, and their family. In addition, traveling between all of the European countries during that time presented so many logistical challenges that we would not even have to consider here in the U.S. That in itself is just one more factor that added to the stress of what it was like in Rob's life as a Grand Prix motocross racer. It was certainly that way for many other racers and his stories through the book clearly express what he and his team and family encountered along his decade long journey. Those of us who have followed the sport all know of the top names across the years (Aberg, Hallman, Weil, Robert, DeCoster, Mikola, Lackey, Carlquist, etc.) and they have been featured in many race documentaries but I believe that Rob's book is so well written that it would translate very well to a movie. It would be very interesting for a movie producer to highlight the sport through the eyes of rider's like Rob Andrews.
I would highly recommend the book to anyone, not just those who have had an interest in motocross.

Rob's Inside Line

Rob's book was a pleasure to read. I was fortunate to be stationed in Germany with the US Air Force from 1985 - 87. During this time I was able to go to several World Championship MX GPs. This book brought me back to those races and all the great memories I had of them. I love his personal experiences during these times. The Namur section was my favorite as I was there in 85 and 86. My favorite race of all time was Namur 85. Thanks for putting out a book of the best time in the MX World Championships. The detailed insights to that great time in MX history kept me glued to the pages. Thanks Rob and best of luck in the future.

As a former MX'er

As a former MX'er, who dreamt of racing the GP's some day, this was a special book. His struggles to get to the top of his career, matched many of us racers. Totally relate to all the travels and stories. The pictures are so great as well. Any Motocross fan needs this book. I've read my copy 3 times. I'm due for a 4th read. Thanks Rob, love the book!!

Absolutely loved this book

For me the eighties is the greatest period in motocross not only here in europe but also in America too. It was such an exciting time with bikes evolving so quickly and legendary riders riding exotic true works bikes in the best looking and coolest gear. Being one of those riders Rob caputures that era perfectly with behind the scenes back stories and photographs that allow us into that very precious and important time of moto history.
Rob also personaly signed the book and added a small inscription in the first couple of pages which I felt was a really cool touch and I really appreciated. Thank you Rob.

Excellent read.

Excellent read.
It was refreshing to hear from a riders point of view what goes on behind the scenes and what it takes to be a GP rider.
Being an ex rider from the late 80s and into the 90s made it even more interesting for me.
More riders should do the same.
