I recently moved from the fabulous Jan Moll’s Portsmouth choir to the amazing Rachel Button’s Billingshurst ‘Rockie Billies’. From the very moment I met the Rockie Billies at a social I felt totally included and looked after. What a fabulous group of ladies. I’ve also been lucky enough to attend a Big Sing in Worthing with the founder Caroline in attendance which was a truly uplifting experience. Best decision I ever made joining Rock Choir, it’s like having a second family.

Member of the Market Harborough choir under the great leadership of Dave Easter
Being a member of the Rock Choir has added such joy to my life …great companionship, great leadership…just such a wonderful experience to perform at all kinds of events and venues something I never thought I’d have the confidence to do but the support from Dave and my fellow Rockies has opened my world. Just brilliant 🤩

Joining the Rock Choir has been the best thing I’ve ever done. I have met some lovely people, made great friends and have a huge respect for our leaders and song developers. We make a lovely sound and hearing us sing makes me very happy.
Jacob Ashworth deserves special mention. His welcoming and friendly messages prior to my taster session and his enthusiasm, mimes and fabulous singing voice make the sessions fun and the performances easier.

I want to give 3 cheers for the superstar that is our new Leader Sam Herbert. He has given Cambridge, St Neots, Huntingdon and Saffron Walden a boost into first gear that we were waiting for or "baby you're a firework!"

I joined Rock Choir. It has really changed my life, I albsoutley love doing rehearsals. And love doing my performances building my confidence, made lots of new friends. I hate it if I miss choir,it uplifts you and leaves you so uplifted. And we have our amazing Rock Choir leader Rob Slater. He has helped me so much. I will always be grateful to Rob for our amazing dance moves, It shows how unfit I am when we dance and sing I can't do both. But please give Rock Choir a go,

Oxfordshire leader Krisha is phenomenal. I’ve never met anyone with such enthusiasm & energy. Krisha is professional, but makes every session & gig fun.

I've been a member of the Sheffield West (Dore & Totley) Rock Choir since September and it is hands down the best thing I could have ever joined!
I'd felt a little lost in recent years, almost a bit lonely. I love music so thought this would be perfect for me to get me out the house, meet new people and have a bit of a sing.
Going to the first session was daunting and I nearly bottled it on the way there but within 30 seconds of entering the door I felt like I was welcomed with open arms. From our fabulous leader Tom, who spotted me walk in and introduced himself and explained how it worked, to our lovely prefect taking the registers to all the other beautiful members who took the time to say hello, it made starting so easy!
The whole session, each week, from start to finish is jam packed with fun, laughter and of course, singing! By the end you feel you have achieved so much and every week I walk out feeling lighter and happier.
There is a good variety of music and I've been surprised that some songs I thought I wasn't keen on have become firm favourites because we sing them in Rock Choir!
I have also had the opporunity to take part in different events, including recording at the Sage in Gateshead and whilst these aren't compulsory they have been such fun as well as confidence building!
I can't praise our leader Tom enough. He genuinely is the most positive, enthusiastic human I have ever met. He is incredibly talented and his passion for not only music but getting people to have fun, enjoy music and be a part of a community shine through, week in, week out.
If you are sat on the fence about joining, take this as your sign from the universe to join!

This is my 10th year of being in Rock Choir and have loved everything about it. It has provided me with wonderful experiences over the years but one of the best has to be the Vocal Yoga Retreats run by the fabulous Katie Hockley and her partner Marko. I have been doing the vocal yoga sessions online with Katie since they started and jumped at the chance to head for Crete to take part in the retreat. I was not disappointed, it really was a most wonderful experience - the group bonded straight away and we had a week of yoga, singing and laughter. It was so lovely to see the group blossoming, confidence growing and an uplifting vibe throughout. Katie is an amazing teacher, inspirational in her work and together with Marko very supportive and kind throughout. It was so good the first time, I have just returned from her second retreat. I can thoroughly recommend the Vocal Yoga sessions online and if you get the chance book a retreat. The best experience so far!

I joined RC in May 2022. I was interested in getting out and doing gigs, travelling to events and new places as well as meeting people from different choirs and of course singing great songs and arrangements along the way. Already I have had a busy schedule over my first summer and Christmas. It's great to sing at so many different venues and events from theatres, parks, shopping centres, train stations, supermarkets, and recording studios. Often raising money for charitable causes and organisations. Rock Choir is so much more than 3 terms of 10 rehearsals. That's just the foundation. For me, it's fantastic value for money and a great opportunity. Looking forward to all the events and gigs that are to come.

I joined rock choir just before COVID arrived -only had a few sessions before everything went on line . I was sad that the togetherness of being in a room, singing our hearts out, had to stop but also glad that we could still access the music on line and very grateful to the rock choir leaders who worked so hard to keep us involved. I love the fact that the songs we learn are familiar and it’s not necessary to be able to read music to join in. The choir is very welcoming to new members so if you like music, like singing and want a fun and feel good time, book a taster session . I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. I’m so happy to have rejoined Peterborough Rock choir under the expertise of the talented Sally Rose.

Life changing sounds so dramatic, but that’s what Rock Choir has been for me. A weekly escape from a tough job and caring role, to meet friendly, welcoming people who don’t care about my dodgy singing.
If you’re nervous to join, take a deep breath and go for it !! - it’s the best thing I’ve ever decided
Ps if you’re in Yorkshire, you’ll have the fabulous Rebecca as your leader to guide you through

heard of the rock in Stirling Scotland so I thought I would go along and see what it was all about on arrival in the hall I was meet with a sea of woman I slowly started to reverse out as I thought it was only for women I was then asked if they could help me I could only stutter that I was in the wrong place as I was looking for the rock choir with a mens section which there was ? I was then introduced to Douglas it just so happened he was the only guy at that time but I stayed and had a great time the mens section has since expanded I have been in the rock choir nearly a year now and have meet a lot of new friends and just love it
I’m so glad that I did not go back out that door that first night because I would have missed a fantastic experience they are a great bunch of people and Rachel is a great choir master who makes everyone feel special so if your thinking of joining your local choir don’t miss this experience ? you won’t regret it!!

When I moved house to a new area I looked for a RC that was nearer. I was encouraged to join Tom Rigby's new choir at Matlock and have been with him from the start. My first leader was Sarah Stephens at Loughborough and thought that she was going to be a hard act to follow. Tom's approach is so different but fabulous nonetheless. Sarah's choir at Loughborough is huge and I only ever got to know the few people that sat on my row. Matlock choir is much smaller and as many of us started together , we know each other across the different vocal parts. Tom's personality sets the tone of joy in singing and having great fun. We all love him, but then every Rockie thinks they have the best leader!

I only discovered rock choir in January 2020, I wish I had known about it years earlier. I walked alone and scared stiff into a huge hall full of strangers. And in an hour and a half I walked out with new friends and a feeling of joy I had never experienced before. Singing amoungst 90 other people felt amazing! I had never sung anywhere before (apart from my shower or car) and I was so worried that they wouldn't want me as I can't sing very well. Nobody cared. And I mean nobody cared! They welcomed me and said "just sing". So I did. And I have ever since. Even through lockdown when it was on zoom. After lockdown I couldn't wait to get back into the rehearsal hall, seeing my friends and literally making new friends every week. I've now performed in several gigs and I'm waiting for all the exciting opportunities that rock choir offer, there is always something happening. If you want to get out of your house every week, make some friends and feel the real joy and buzz of singing out loud in a group then I cannot recommend rock choir enough! They are very laid back and you can participate as much, or as little as you like. There are never any expectations placed on you. You will get talented leaders, great songs, opportunities to attend or participant in so many events, and a support network like nothing you've seen before. With a free trial session to start with, you'd have nothing to lose by giving a try and so so much to gain.

Rock Choir has honestly changed my life. I have met the most amazing people and it couldn't have been possible without our choir leader Rachel. Rachel is fantastic at what she does. So welcoming and always has us smiling and laughing. I leave each session feeling great. Thank u 🙌💕🌟

Inspirational and extremely talented leaders... I have worked with 4 of them. Currently Rebecca in Leeds. She is fab! Lovely people... so warm and friendly. Great songs... so uplifting. Exciting gigs... from Horsforth Farmers' Market and Victoria Gate to Abbey Road and Wembley... so enjoyable. Rock Choir just wants us to feel welcome and have a fantastic time. And we do!
Thank you.

Rock Choir is a highlight of my week, it makes me happy to sing great songs with my buddies led by a talented Rock Choir leader.
We have sung in Barcelona, at the Edinburgh Fringe, Proms in the Park, Bournemouth BIC, recorded at Abbey Road Studios and had lots of other great performances in many different places.
I have been in Rock Choir for about 14 years now and won’t stop going unless the Earth stops spinning!
I feel belonging to Rock Choir does my mental health good, a workout for my old brain and it’s lots of fun!
