Even though I’m based in Scotland and Roofmaker are around five hours away, Stella was brilliant at arranging a visit as quickly as possible. The motor had worked perfectly for almost 10 years before... See more

Avoid this company - terrible customer service once they have your money
I had two electric skylight blinds installed by Roofmaker. Less than two years later they stopped functioning properly - they started shutting crooked / skew / not shutting / not opening.
I contacted Roofmaker by phone numerous times and they (Emma, Stella) said they’d get back to me but didn’t. Emails went unanswered. Eventually Dom said that if I removed them and sent them back they’d get the manufacturer to look at them. The blinds were very difficult to remove so I had to get a builder in to do it. They’ve had the blinds for 3 weeks now and despite numerous phone calls and emails they cannot tell me what is happening. I’ve been promised countless times by Molly that someone will get back to me the same day but they never do.
I would avoid this company at all costs. As others have said, they’re very helpful until they have your money then there is a complete lack of customer service and I’ve spent thousands of pounds on blinds that I don’t have and have no idea what they are doing about it.

Joanna was lovely to deal with very helpful and knew the product well. Any questions I had she knew the answer straight away and went further to explain that and give me helpfully advice on fitting.
Thank you
Quick and easy to order
Quick and easy to order, haven't yet received the unit or installed yet so pending the actual window being good.
I've not been quick to jump into this…
I've not been quick to jump into this review, but I need to share my experience of Roof-Maker with whom I spent over £20k on Luxlite windows 2/3 years ago. I've tried so many times to get issues resolved but it's almost impossible to get Roof-Maker to send someone out to site. They'll fob you off on the phone and then ignore your emails. On more than one occasion we've had failing motor issues with the windows. We ended paying £500 for a pair of new motors (supply only... they wanted to charge another £500/day for an engineer) for a single window, but still had issues. The latest issue was last autumn when our Childs bedroom window jammed open. One motor failed and simultaneously the chain on the other motor buckled dangerously. Roof-maker had been no help at all by this point so we had a local electrician do his best to get the window closed for the winter. A year on from this I reached out again to Roof-Maker to ask for an engineer to bring two motors and fix the window. I spoke to a lady called Stella who seemed to want to help - which was refreshing - however, I've been completely ignored by her for four weeks now. After she gave me her email and told me email photos of the issue, I haven't heard back. I've sent a follow up email each week since just in case my first email was missed, but nothing. I'm completely done with this cowboy company and their lack of post-sale service. Save yourself the hassle and use a different company. If anyone wants a more detailed breakdown of my contact over the years with them then I'd be happy to share.

Great customer service
Stella was amazing, went out of her way to help us in resolving our issue. She came out twice with engineers to make sure work was completed, even though it was not her department or role
I purchased a skylight from Roof-Maker…
I purchased a skylight from Roof-Maker Ltd on 02/09/2024. Less than a year later, on 26/06/2025, one of the motors failed, leaving the skylight unable to open properly.
Since then, I have repeatedly contacted the company to get the fault resolved. Despite numerous emails over the course of more than 10 weeks, I have had no meaningful response or resolution. At best, I received occasional holding replies promising that the issue would be “escalated” or that the team was “dealing with a backlog.” But no one from Roof-Maker has ever actually followed through to repair or replace the faulty unit.
The lack of after-sales support has been appalling. For a premium purchase, you would expect a basic level of customer service and warranty support within the first year of ownership. Instead, I have been left with a faulty product and no accountability from the company.
I have had to contact customer services who state that they have had an influx of enquiries over the summer, blaming this on the reason they have not got back to me. If they have upscaled to the extent that they cannot keep up with the after-sales customer support, they need to rethink their business model.
If you are considering Roof-Maker, be aware: the sales process is smooth, but once they have your money, their customer service is non-existent. I would strongly advise avoiding them until they can demonstrate they support their products properly after sale.

Tilly had a very pushy rude tone and when she couldn’t understand me it sounded like she was frustrated. This is not customer service. When I called back joanne answered and she sounded very patronising in wanting the money. They are so expensive for bad quality products and a bad customer service experience.

Customer service was good until the item arrived
Customer service was good until the item was delivered and problems encountered.
Upon starting to install the frame we started to encounter issues, the joining plates did not fit the extrusion frame and were too wide. These all had to be cut down to fit, the rivets provided are significantly too large for the holes so these all had to be drilled out.
However the biggest issue was the foam strip (30x8mm) that is shown in the installation manual to be fitted to the frame for the glass to sit on was missing, as soon as we realised this I called roof maker for advice around 9.30 am as we had a crane booked to arrive at 11am and was on route. I was advised that someone would get back to me, time went on and I called again. I called a total of 11 times and no one could tell me what the foam was or if it was missing, with the last call telling me that it was no longer needed and the instruction manual was out of date and needed updating. I was advised to fit the glass directly onto the aluminium frame, knowing this could not be correct and deviating away from the manual which could cause warranty issues I asked for this in writing before I continued. This never came so I called again to be told you were waiting for more information on if it was correct and what type of foam was required. This call never came, no call back was ever received.
I spent all afternoon driving around and calling local companies to try to get a foam strip that was suitable but was unsuccessful. Therefore I had to send the crane away as we could not fit the glass without this. This cost me £785!
I ordered some tape from the internet with a pre 9am next day delivery as it was clear I wasn’t getting any further support from roof maker.
To add to this, we were also missing the “factory fitted weather” strip that goes against the wall and the thermal insulation foam roll. There was also a significant shortage of silicone supplied.
In total this error on Roof makers part has cost me £946.24
I followed up with the directors of roof maker, but neither Dominic or Kishan found the time to reply to me, it looks like the ethos for not replying to customers once they have your money starts from the top.
wanting to give them fair chance to put this right as i understand errors get made, i reached out to Emma customer service manager who was commenting on negative comments. i contacted Emma who responded to say she would look into the issue however it has now been 6 weeks and no resolution.
i have installed many roof lights but this was my first from Roof maker, my advice would be to avoid.
this could have all been easily resolved with communication, but Roof maker seam to turn their back on you once they have payment and there are issues rather than supporting customers.

Beautiful rooflights and great customer service
I used roof maker for our kitchen extension. I was connected with an employee called Leebaan who was incredibly helpful - talking me through the options, how to make sure it was the right size, and if i had any questions I was able to call him again to answer. As this was a big purchase for us and something we’d never done before I really appreciated having the extra guidance and ability to speak to someone. Skylights arrived and while we haven’t fitted them yet, they look perfect - arrived in perfect condition, exactly per the requirements, and delivery was actually earlier than we’d expected which has been very helpful! Would definitely recommend.
Roof Lantern Window purchase
When i enquired about the purchase of a new roof lantern window the sales executive Leebaan Doobeh was very helpful and answered all my questions with a simple and understandable response.
Great knowledge quick and easy order…
Great knowledge quick and easy order cant fault tillie, it's quite refreshing to deal with someone who knows what there doing.
Stay away!!!
Very poor customer service after receiving a faulty product. I received an email at 01.14 on Friday (25/07/2025) stating that an invoice from 2022 wasn't paid in full and we have an outstanding balance. We were told this was found due to an internal review and reconciliation of historic accounts. No evidence was provided. We bought two roof lights/windows, which were fitted as per instructions but unfortunately, one had a faulty seal and leaked, causing a lot of damage in our kitchen. We were compensated for only half of our costs for the repair of the damage caused in our kitchen. This compensation was received in May 2025, but now this.
Stay away from this company. Terrible.
We have finally been contacted after a week of chasing and have been informed that that the email I received is void. The director that sent the email in the night, whilst on holiday, has not had the decency to reach out direct, as promised.
Again, I would stay away from this company. Poor customer service and faulty product.

Just buy a Velux
Having bought a rooflight back in 2021 (fixed flat rooflight) and this being fitted to spec provided by the manufacturer, we had a leak as a result of the mitred frame corners not being sealed in the factory, within a year the blind also failed as a result of over extending and tightening as pre programmed at factory.
Roof maker sent an engineer out to seal the leaking points and he essentially ran the sealant in with his finger in a crude way noting “yeah these aren’t very good joints are they”.
Once the seals and blind were repaired following a debate over who would redecorate the ceiling as a result of water damage. The outside pane (triple glazed) decided to fail as a result of a nickel sulphide inclusion, this being an imperfection in the glass isn’t a fault at Roof makers manufacturing plant but is at their suppliers. I have seen a number of reviews noting similar issues. As a result the cost of a new glazed unit was going to be over £700 (1m x 1m) and the warranty of the seals would be void if works undertaken. The company were not very helpful throughout this process at all and we ended up cutting the whole system out of our roof and replacing it with a Velux system which was actually cheaper, better quality with a far better blind and a more straight forward install. The warranty is also considerably more comprehensive on Velux products.
As an Architect who specifies roof lights regularly that’s the end of specifying Roofmaker products for all within the company I work for and I am recommending my peers not to use these products either.
In short just buy a Velux, they are a considerably better product.
