Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the product quality, noting issues such as poor construction, unraveling edges, and a cheap feel, especially considering the price. Reviewers frequently mentioned that the rugs did not lay flat, curled up, or degraded quickly, with some experiencing issues with the non-slip grip and the durability of the rug pads. The overall sentiment regarding the product and its value for money was largely negative. However, some people were satisfied with the designs and the washable feature, finding the rugs to be as pictured and easy to clean. Conversely, a small portion of people felt that customer service was unhelpful, citing difficulties in communication, unaccommodating policies regarding returns and price adjustments, and a lack of responsiveness to issues like incorrect orders or misrepresented products.

Cheap rugs from Ruggable!

Cheap rugs, way over priced for the quality and for what you get. Would definitely not recommend them. They are about triple the cost for what they are worth. Cheap, fade easily and don’t last. Crappy company and very poor customer service!!! DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP!!

Poor Quality

The rug was a very poor quality for the price, the corners were not square and looked very funky and cheap and the edges were unraveling. The bottom "grip" didn't work at all and it slid around on the floor. I was able to return it, but had to pay a $10 fee.

Read the fine print in every item description - deceptive.

I had bought some rugs previously and was happy, so much so that I had recommended the company to several people.
I noticed that they had started to sell throw pillows designed by Jonathan Adler and decided to buy some. Reading the description of a large pillow I noted that it included the insert, I added it to my cart and then scrolled through the site adding 4 additional pillows, all by the same designer, all at a similar price point.
When the order arrived, only 1 of the pillows included an insert???
I contacted the company and was told that indeed only 1 pillow included an insert. I expressed my unhappiness (it felt deceptive, kind of a bait and switch) and asked them to send me inserts, even offering to pay for the shipping. After talking to 2 different people it was like talking to a brick wall or an AI robot - zero customer service, just script readers. No inserts would be sent and my only choice was to send the items back.
I have spend $1000's with ruggable but no exceptions to the script.
This experience has definitely lowered my opinion of this company, I will never recommend them again.

I wished it worked out

I wished it worked out. The concept it great.

But, the pad that the rug sit on very quickly would degrade and lots and lots of particles would come off as you remove the rug. Also, you really need to see it in person before you decide if it’s right for you. The rug being so thin felt cheap (I get its not and done well, but felt like it)

Refused to honor price adjustment policy

The merchant refused to honor the 7-day price adjustment policy due to a small discount already applied to the product. They had a point system that was discontinued. They forced you to use the remaining discounts of $5-10, vs giving you an actual price adjustment of 30%—poor customer service.

I have had 3 large ruggable area rugs…

I have had 3 large ruggable area rugs for barely 2 years now. My main complaint is that although they are washable, the quality of the rubber pad is very low. After 1 year (conveniently just out of warranty) the little fibers of the Velcro have started to break down, now when I lift the rugs from their base pads I get 2 vacuum bags full of these little black pieces of black plastic. It makes an ungodly mess.
I first vacuum the top of the rug, then the under side, then the rubber base to get as much of these little peices of plastic, then the whole floor around the rug and the path to the washer because the black sand gets EVERYWHERE. Along with having to clean my washer and filter after running them through.
It’s such a laborious process that although I’d love to clean my rugs once a month I really only do it every 6 months.
For the price I paid for multiple large rugs I would have expected them to last longer than 2 years. I plan to through them away soon, get some old fashioned standard rugs and buy a carpet cleaner. It honestly sounds like less work at this point.

I was never able to talk to a real live…

I was never able to talk to a real live person. I tried multiple ways and all I got was a computer. I gave up and returned the extremely skinny rug with I had just received.
I have really enjoyed their plush rugs with thick pads. I was trying to get another one. This seems to no longer exist. The skinny ones that are available now are useless.

Curly, but washable.

Designs are fun. The rugs are low pile and thinner than non-washable, but fine for under the dining room table. Washes well, but I have to goto a laundromat with a high capacity machine. My issue is I bought a round 8’ diameter rug about three years ago and the edges in high traffic areas curled up permanently within a year. Also, there is a wear mark all around the circumference where the edge of the rug pad ends.

Be careful what you buy

After ordering two rugs shipped together in one box the rugs didn’t work for me. When doing the return of said rugs it required each rug to be sent back separately which resulted in having to find another box, and the shipping cost of each rug. So, of course, the refund was less because of shipping two items back. They failed to impress me on every aspect and now will never purchase from them again.

Not great service semi-ok quality.

I like the items I purchased, but I got lucky with what I chose. There are some items I'll be returning because they look cheap and for almost $1k I can't justify keeping it. Compounding the issue, I was denied a price adjustment because the rug had been delivered forcing me to return the items. At this point, I'm not sure I'll be reordering them.

The pad is not a perfect fit, and print quality is bad.

The pad is not a perfect fit. Their tolerance is +\- 2” all around, which means your rug could be 4” too big. Mine is 4-1/2” too big in one of the dimensions, and they are just fighting me in Customer Service saying that I’m installing it wrong (per their website this should be foolproof) and arguing about measurements. Instead of being apologetic and trying to help, they went straight to accusation.

Furthermore, the print quality is just awful. they are not using nearly enough ink, so the color does not penetrate the whole loop, the underside stays white, and after one vacuum it looks like trash.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. I purchased a rug in July 2025, and the company only included two non-slip mats in the box. No rug. I have been emailing to rectify this problem since early August, when I returned from vacation, and to date, no one has been able to resolve the issue. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge, as the company has been unwilling to respond to voicemails and emails regarding the issue. Guess what, this is a whole other level of fraud - if they mark a package as delivered even though it does not contain the items that were ordered, Visa considers the customer liable as if I had gone to the warehouse, created the rug, and packaged it myself. I am not only suing Ruggable, but I am also suing FedEx and Visa because I did not order two non-slip mats. What will I do with the mats without the rug!?!

Their customer service policies are…

Their customer service policies are ridiculous. They were unfair with an exchange I had yesterday. Even the rep I spoke with agreed!
I have one of their rugs and the new one needed to match it. My mistake.Their exchange policy does not address how they handled my issue.
So, I ended up paying over $50 more for a 2x3’ rug because of the exchange. Will never purchase from them again.

Over 30% charge for small return

I was very disappointed with a $25 return fee on an $81 purchase when I tried to return a 2x3 rug the day after I received it. It clearly does not cost $25 to process that small rug, so the charge is just to discourage returns even when the customer is unhappy with the product. A good company should not need to do that. I usually look at the return policy when I purchase things, so they clearly don't make it easy to see that they charge so much for a return. I will not use them again. It certainly makes you appreciate good return policies, so I will continue to shop at Amazon and other sites instead of using Ruggable in the future for purchases like this.

Horrible customer service optiond

I made an order for 2 rugs with Ruggables. I had a question about my order. There are only 2 options to communicate with customer service should: email or chat. When I tried to used the chat, my messages would not send without tons of effort. I had to hit “send” again and again, erase and re-write messages, anything to get my messages to send. All I wanted was an easy way to communicate with customer support. This was horrible and a massive time-waste. Note: I was able to speak with a real person when I called rugs.com. Until Ruggables gets better customer service contact, I won’t be back.
