Poor customer service.

Poor customer service.
The phone I purchased a year ago has lots of Google revies saying a issue with the charging port.
Sure enough 9 months later it stopped charging.
I sent it off and eventually they agreed to repair it, even though they blamed the fault on me.
It took a month to get the phone back.
It has now been another 9 months and once again, the charging port has died.
They do not accept that this is obviously a fault with the phones design and are blaming it on me(despite having other phones and chargers that are twice as old or older that have never had a issue).
So I agree to pay the repair cost ( $200) and asked that it is repaired alot faster than last time as I can't go a month without my phone (for business etc).
The customer service then replied that I should go find someone else then.

Poor customer service
Poor warranty claims (says excellent on the website)
Don't recommend dealing with them which is a shame as besides the bad charging port, the phone is actually decent.
Now I have a expensive phone that can't charge

I Recommend Rugged Phones NZ

The phone I purchased is great for what I need and has lasted very well. The staff at Rugged Phones NZ were very good to deal with and helped me set it up. I recommend them to anyone looking for a tough rugged phone.

What is the point of a warranty with ruggedphones.co.nz

What is the point of a warranty (ruggedphones.co.nz) and do they really know what a warranty is? Bought a phone a year ago, general use (office work, non tradie stuff). You would expect things last at least 4 years before wearing out (unless you are a tradie, which I am not).

Phone developed a problem, contacted them, did what they asked and was told it's not under warranty as it is a user created.

When asked to explain or define how the user created this issue, they just ghost me...

They could have sent me a replacement part (which you can buy online), although that would void the warranty if I fit it. If the phone was out of warranty (which it is not) I would have bought the part and fixed without having to deal with them and write this review.

Great service.

I wouldn't bother wasting money on…

I wouldn't bother wasting money on these products, they are cheaply made phones in comparison to the mainstream brands and the software is average and glitchy as well, I brought the most expensive rugged phone listed on the Rugged phone site, at the time was the UleFone Armor 11T, it was advertised with some pretty amazing specs and said to have been extensively drop tested, I had mine for around 6months when the screen started coming away from the phone, I emailed the shop and informed them, he asked me if had been dropped or inpacked at all? I replied I was just texting away when the screen started popping out, has been dropped a few times in the past (no worse than my standard old Samsung s11, and it never had a issue) but not recently, that was always a possibility, that's why I tried the rugged phone, haven't dropped it in any liquids or had any hard impacts. They said Like anything, even a rugged phone can get damaged over time. Accidental damage (dropping phone) is covered by either you or any insurance policy you may have. It is not a warranty claim. and they offered to give me a quote to repair. So I chucked it in the bits and bobs drawer and went down to noel leaming's to buy a new Samsung and decant case as i had before. I wont be dealing with Rugged Phones again since they can't back their products and the phones just are not up to the standard.
