The Bailiff is NOT coming it's all a lie and SCAM

Like other people here I was scammed. I was told that I'd agreed to 'sponsor' some books for the local school some months back.
But didn't remember doing it (as a small shop you get a lot of requests for assistance) So I haggled a discount!! Two years later, had another call..... big blazing row over the phone about it, There was no contract.... not even verbal (which is not binding) unless its all recorded properly like when you change energy suppliers.
But like a mug I still paid £150.
Now another 2 years on I get the Bailiff call at 8.15 in the morning, saying a Bailiff is arriving at the shop at 10am to serve papers and collect £2,840.00
But if you pay £1,900 now that will not happen says 'Chris', but Chris doesn't have a land line and the address is very vague.
Obviously it is very scary, and very convincing. But I wasn't alone, I had a lot of support and people 'in the know' that I was able to call on while talking to 'Chris' (thanks guy's)
Interestingly 'Chris' pointed me to a 'certified Bailiffs' register, hoping to prove who he was. There was a 'Christopher Gary Cham****' as a resisted Bailiff but he was one of the only people with no employers name, so no check possible. And his name was probably used because of that.

10am and no bailiff showed up.
And by that evening my heart rate had finally dropped below 185 bpm

If you read this before a call, treat it like all the other dodgy calls you get........ hang up.

Scam from Preston - 01772915606

Like many others, call out of the blue on 01772 915606 saying my campaign donation last year had been successful, the booklets are printed with my company name as sponsor printed... I genuinely thought I might have done, until I heard that the company would be printed on the booklets, and how it would be tax deductable... made it sound like I had already paid, then got her to talk about the £199 invoice. Told her I wouldn't have gone in for this, she promised she would send the call recording from last year. Funny enough, it hasn't arrived...

Fraud!

Same as other respondents, had a call today. When she said it was £199, I said email me the invoice. Have deleted email and blocked number!

Had a call out of the blue from a lady…

Had a call out of the blue from a lady at The Prevention Centre Ltd saying how successful the anti bullying campaign had been for my 'chosen school' (which was not even open anymore) and they will leave a review and send me an invoice as I had signed up to this last year.

They said they would leave a review and the head will also leave a review.

As I am a new business and only just moved into my premises I knew this was scam call straight away. I have since received letters through the post with an invoice attached for £198.95...or £179 if paid within a week of the invoice.

Absolute frauds.

It's a scam

Had a call today saying that I had agreed in September to support a local anti-bullying campaign with £190 of books for a local school. I never received such a call. The lady was quick to apologise for the error and say she will send a message to the admin team and get my details removed from the system. Definitely a scam.

DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY>

TOTAL SCAM!!

TOTAL SCAM!!

Lady called up in January to say she needed money for leaflets generated and delivered to our chosen local school. My partner agreed to it so we paid £150 ish on this. Got an invoice and they said they'll leave us a review. 3 months later a lady calls up to say they need another £190 to send out the material and that it's in 2 stages. The first part only covered bullying. She then agrued with my partner saying he has agreed to the sponsorship and all the details were in the pack he received so he knew what he was signing up for. Where infact, all we got in the post was the leaflet they were going to send to the school with a thank you letter! We haven't signed any agreement and when we said we're not giving any money, she said she'll take us off the sponsorship and find someone else. Then she claimed there's £250 outstanding on the account and because we don't want to sponsor the school anymore she will give a 50% discount on the balance and 10% will go to the NHS!! Clearley I refused to make any payment and will be checking to see if the school received anything in the first place!

Who ever these people are should be ashamed of themselves! They exploit the goodwill of people and bully people into thinking they MUST pay. They don't have a website and they don't anything online. These people need to be stopped!

Absolutely scam avoid

Absolutely scam, promised to do a knife campaign at my local school. Also send a guy in who had lost a relative to knife crime to really drum it in to these kids that’s knifes are no good.

This never happened, books are a joke, A5 leaflet about 5 pages flimsy paper and a white sticker stuck on back with my company details.

Not a genuine company

Scam!!
SCAM!!
Scam!!

Hilariously laughable. Send you random leaflets then asks you to pay £200 for them. Calls back several months later pretending to be bailiffs.
I was having a rough day at work but this joke made me giggle. Its been going on for years apparently. Just found a blog post about them going back all the way to 2012. Their MO stays the same, but interestingly the book subjects change (book may be a bit of a grandiose word for what it really is).

This review has been reposted after being removed in 2018. However looking at how they can no longer hold the line in negative reviews I have posted it again. Clearly they are still at it. My post was removed because I used the word scam, BUT THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY. I don't see any other way of saying it.

The Prevention Foundation (were 'The Safety Guide Foundation' SCAM

I had exactly the same experience with The Prevention Foundation and found out that they have changed their name from The Safety Guide Foundation. Money for non-existent books, couldn't prove that I had spoken to them '6 months earlier' - I confronted them about it and that was the end of the phone call. Be great if the police could stop them.

Lies, Lies, Lies, Beware of the scam

I received a call from a very chatty woman, who tried to convince me that I had spoken to her 3 months earlier agreeing to support them. I had no idea what she was talking about and told her several times but she kept telling that I had and it was time to pay the invoice. She even said that if I paid it now over the phone I would get a £30 discount. I didn’t pay and agreed to let her send me the invoice via email so that I could check it over, because she just would not shut up.
After looking into this company I discovered that this was a SCAM, also the month which I was told that I agreed to this, was whilst my business was closed so there is no way she had spoken to me before. (check the 5 star reviews they are all written within 2-3 days of each other which seems odd, FAKE?)
Over the next week or so I had missed calls from them daily chasing this invoice. When I did eventually speak to someone from accounts (apparently). I just told them had had no idea why they were invoicing me and I wasn’t paying it, he just said he was going to check the recording. They can only record it if they tell you beforehand, this is such a SCAM with a pushy sales tactic.

Scam and won't stop

I got a phone call from a chap a few months ago claiming that they were handling school road safety and did we want to support it, I politely declined.

Then a few days ago I got a phone call saying that I had approved it and it was ready, I asked for proof of approval which was not forthcoming, now I have received a request for money.

Am not paying but beware!

Well and truly scammed

I got a phone call from the Safety Guide back in November 2018 and they said they'd talked to me a few months earlier, and that I'd agreed to buy some books for a local primary school and that the books were now ready. I didn't remember the conversation and I asked for more information. It sounded like a good idea and it wasn't a huge amount of money, so I thought ok.
A few months later I got another phone call telling me the second batch of books was ready and could I pay the final amount. No second batch or final amount had been previously mentioned, I queried this but eventually agreed to pay.
In October 2020 I got a phone call from The Prevention Foundation on the same lines as before. They said that inline with our prior agreement the next batch of books going to the same local school were ready and could I pay for them. I again queried and said I thought I'd already paid for the two batches. In the end I said I couldn't pay at the minute because my finance weren't in as good a position, they phoned back a week or so later and I gave the same story about the books being ready to go and if I paid today I'd get a £30 discount and they'd do free postage and packaging, so I paid.
Today they came back looking for another 'second payment' and it finally dawned on me that something wasn't really right. I asked about previous payments and they said they had only one on file from early November. I knew this wasn't right so I said I wasn't paying until I had checked through my records.
I looked through all my credit card statements and found the original payments went to The Safety Guide, and the last payment to The Prevention Foundation. I'm now waiting for them to phone back so I can express my displeasure

DO NOT TRUST OR PAY

Originally phoned around May asking me if i would be interested in DONATING towards their cause to make these books. I was reluctant at first because the price they were asking for was so high but i thought a one off donation, ok ill do it.

few months later i get a thanks and the next batch of books are ready to go, please pay for it. i was like excuse me what books? they said i agreed to pay for this batch when i paid for the first one lot. i was certain i hadn't and i had no information saying so but they said it was recorded on the phone but they failed to provide this recording.

next call saying i had agreed to pay for 4 batches and if i refused to pay, legal action and debt collectors will be enforced.

Theyre a joke and use scare mongering tactics for these sales to get your money. i did not order anything but they will say you did order it and must pay it.

The director has filed for insolvency

Unfortunately a scam

Unfortunately a scam. Massive high pressure sales and a deceptive sales script, where they attempt to convince you that you agreed several months ago to purchase their material for schools in your area. There are a few reviews on here where people have been fed the same story. After the fifth call from their accounts department demanding money, I told them their sales tactics were disgusting so I would not be purchasing anything from them. The response I got was that I was mistaking them for another Prevention Foundation. Companies like this ruin it for good charities doing good work.

Sad Scam

Sad Scam. 'Prevention Foundation' contacted me about paying them for books on Bullying, which would be sent to a local school. Their manner was rather bullying too. I checked their website, which looked very plausible. After paying the money no books ever arrived.
I find it very sad that a company would behave in this way. When they did not ask about Gift Aid I should have realised they were not a Charity at all. I note that on 10th Dec they applied to be dissolved as a company. So now they have been called "Safety Guide Foundation" (which was shut down in June 2020) and "Prevention Foundation"...By Jan 1st will they emerge again as 'The Crooked Foundation'?

I have been scammed by these people too…

I have been scammed by these people too and luckily enough I didn't pay any money over! Like all the other reviews on here the lady called Sarah called me from The Prevention Foundation as they are now called(aka The Safety Foundation) did the same things as in the other reviews. I then got the booklet with the invoice. They then started chasing me for non payment. I reported then to Action Fraud and after they kept emailing me I told them I reported them. Haven't heard anything since. Shocking the way they go about their business but this is definately a SCAM so be warned people!!!!!
