I am utterly appalled by the customer service I received in relation to my complaint. Initially, I was informed that my agreement had been cancelled and that I would receive a refund. However, the situation has become increasingly frustrating as I continue to chase the refund, and no one seems capable of providing a straightforward answer. To make matters worse, my enquiries have gone unanswered.
This lack of responsiveness and clarity is unacceptable. As a customer, I expect better communication and resolution. I hope this review serves as a warning to others who may encounter similar issues.

Absolutely disgusted by the customer service in UK. Is one of the most unprofessional, untrained, unexperienced customer service provider that I ever met and this is a WARNING for all of you in UK looking to deal with them: DO NOT!!! Stay away from this people, they cannot even handle a phone call, they will shut the phone in your nose cause, they will never sort out your issues and you will never be able to speak with anyone competent ever! This is from far the worst bank experience i ever encounter with a bank!!! STAY AWAY FROM SANTANDER AT ALL MEANS!!!!

The costumer service is not too busy and is easily reachable, but their online services are very very limited and outdated.
I have contacted Santander for a loan. The contact was really quick, they also react on emails, cals really fast. An agent, Mr Pauli was taking care of my case. He was very supportive in every meaning, giving advice, help proceeding the documents the right way and all this with a really positive attitude, even tho he was talking to a foreigner in english language (me) in the Netherlands. I honestly recommend santander and their services.

Applied for a small loan. Application was nearly two weeks with no information or update. No communication at all and when i attempted to contact on multiple platforms no reaction or response. Then i got an email that your loan was cancelled and litterly no other information. When i asked for the reason again no response. Waste of your time very unprofessional not to even respond to customers, very rude! BTW i did meet all the requirements, full time perm contract provided all paperwork requested and fits requirements so is it again because of nationality... i am seeing many of the same reviews now on this!! Disappointed by the whole process

Appalling service. Car broke down in November '22. Santander's inspector concluded that it was my fault but gave less than half the information. DEKRA then inspected and said that they had never seen anything like it and that there was no way that I could have done this. Contacted the Financial Ombudsman in Feb '23. The Ombudsman gave Santander a final letter in May '23 and I am still chasing twice weekly getting nowhere. An utter disgrace to customer service and never belive them when they give you a date that it will be settled..

Information on the website not only shows typos but the translation says that the bank can keep the money in a current account indefinitely, which is not correct. In a telephone call with 'customer service' (they probably don't understand this word either) they are very customer unfriendly. Even the response to an email in which you want to discuss the complaints is not good. My advice: don't go with Openbank and Santander. If it was possible to give a 0-rate I would have done that.
I sent the requested e-mail with explanation much earlier, on June 13. The response I received did not address the complaint at all.

Had a very stressful experience with a car dealer who waited until the very last minute to pay off the Santander finance and then couldn't get the electronic banking to work. They then sent a cheque(!) recorded delivery which meant that by the time it had cleared my settlement figure had expired by over two weeks. They put a note on my file about the issues and didn't charge any extra interest and the very day they said it would clear they sent me a bank transfer for the two payments I had paid waiting on the incompetent dealer to pay up, without being prompted. Would certainly put finance through them again.

Rejected a car through the ombudsman successfully. This was confirmed mid April that they were to refund me but it’s now June and I’ve not seen a penny. They were bang to rights under the consumer goods act 2015 but they feel they are bigger than than anyone else. Their customer service is appalling. I’d give a zero if it existed. You cannot get a response from anyone with authority. Yes you get through to an agent but that’s all they are and claim to pass on your message of which they never respond to. It’s to the point of theft now. They took the car back I was paying for yet refuse to give me my money. They are rotten to the core and treat the little man like a complete nobody.

Santander bank has declined to finance my purchace from mediamarkt Utrecht Hoog Catherine. This is while I have the minimum income condition and all the others. I believe that santander bank has done it on racial discrimination grounds, as other dutch people I am aware are able to use their service. This is highly sad that racism still has a place in Netherlands. The bank has refused to provide any additional information at my request, multiple times.
Update: I know there is a comment below saying your income is lower than expense blah blah

BEWARE!!!!! Purchased car from Parks Renault Ayr. Sales service great, although A/C wasn’t working on the day I picked it up. Took a week or two to sort this out ! Car has intermittently been flashing warning signs and the STEERING HAS BEEN LOCKING WHILST DRIVING !!! The car ignition has been RUNNING EVEN THOUGH THE KEY IS OUT OF THE IGNITION!!. I have no way to switch off the electrics- have no control of electric handbrake - Parks cannot find ANY fault - not a single one-
cleared the error codes then said car is fine as they can’t get it to fault. Santander (ACE - their ‘independant’ assesors - look them up and read the reviews) state the same thing. They refuse to refund and unwind the finance agreement as they state the car is fit for purpose!!! I am going to DIE OR KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE if I continue to drive this car. They are forcing me to take further action and fight for my consumer rights as they can’t get the car to fault - they say they have been unable to recreate the errors. it is a sporadic issue. I SENT THEM VIDEO EVIDENCE!!! which I only managed to capture the THIRD TIME it happened. i have witnesses. I am disabled and rely on my car, I have been without a safe, fit for purpose vehicle since 13/1/23 when it was recovered for the SECOND TIME. I have been, and am forced to continue to pay the insurance and finance payments during all of this as it will affect my credit rating if I don’t. Parks want me to pick up the vehicle and drive it about the roads putting myself and every other road user at risk. I will try to upload the video. Be careful out there fellow drivers.
Had a very helpful conversation with Abeera. Was answered almost straight away and she promptly found my agreement, dealt with security, and I was able to change my direct debit very easily. A good experience to achieve what I wanted to do so quickly. Thank you and I look forward to continued business.
