Shocking customer relations

My experience at Sapphire Spa on Saturday, the 10th of February, was disappointing and lacking in empathy. A friend and I had scheduled facials for that afternoon, but unfortunately, she received a distressing call about her ill father the morning of our appointment. Despite our efforts to inform the spa and explore options for rescheduling, the response from Sapphire Spa was rigid and unsympathetic.

When I called to explain the situation, the staff immediately assumed my friend wouldn't attend and charged her £135 without any consideration for the circumstances. Their insistence on enforcing a 24-hour cancellation policy without any room for discretion or compassion was disheartening.

Upon arrival for my own appointment, the atmosphere was unwelcoming, and when I expressed my disappointment to the therapist, her response lacked empathy, focusing instead on past incidents of no-shows. I even had photos of my friend's father to illustrate the seriousness of the situation, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears.

Ultimately, the lack of understanding and refusal to accommodate our situation has led me to the decision not to return to Sapphire Spa. It's unfortunate that their strict adherence to policy outweighed their ability to show empathy and understanding to their clients. Sapphire spa has lost two clients, as both my friend and I will be taking our business elsewhere in search of a more compassionate and accommodating experience.

In response to your reply, we appreciated that you did change the pricing for our facial as we are having two facials merged into one. Your therapist said it wasn’t fair to charge us at full price for both the facials because we wouldn’t be having a cleanse tone etc twice in the facial, we will be only having it once. and yes we both appreciate a 24 hour policy as we are both in the industry. However when there’s an medical emergency and you’re waiting for your 90-year-old dad to be taken into hospital, they could’ve been a little leniency and yes we thought she would be able to come over but unfortunately her dad fell again when she went to use the bathroom. He is now spending an unforeseen time in Hosptial due to fracturing his hip, we are extremely sorry we couldn’t give 24hrs notice as we couldn’t for see this.

In order to accommodate you and your friend, an employee had a discussion with you the day before your appointment to adjust the treatment time and price, making it more convenient and affordable for both of you. We even offered a discounted price to ensure your satisfaction.

However, you contacted us only a few hours before your appointment expressing uncertainty about your ability to come. As you correctly pointed out, we have a company policy that everyone must adhere to. This policy is in place to ensure that everyone is treated equally and fairly, and it is clearly communicated and accepted by all our customers when they book an appointment at Sapphire.

Charging for late cancellations is imperative for the longevity of our business and to ensure the uninterrupted provision of our services. Regrettably, the financial implications of such occurrences are substantial, as we are unable to fill the void left by these cancelled bookings or recover the time that was reserved for those treatments. This policy is common among a high percentage of businesses, as it helps us operate efficiently and effectively.

During our separate conversations with both of you, we were informed that you would both be attending your appointment. However, the individual who was responsible for the charges did not show up nor did they communicate with us regarding their personal account after this.

Regarding your complaint about the staff and the atmosphere, we take such accusations very seriously. After reviewing the CCTV footage, it is evident that you were greeted like any other customer and engaged in conversations about treatments during the check-out process.
Our therapist was simply doing her job and trying to prevent an awkward conversation from escalating when she declined to view certain images.

We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention, as we highly value your feedback. We will take your comments into consideration.

Lovely welcome

Lovely welcome! Everyone was very pleasant and very professional. Was made to feel comfortable the moment I walked through the door! Treatment was conducted quickly and everything was explained in detail. Thank you so much and would highly recommend.

Fantastic wax!

I’ve been coming to Sapphire for over 6…

I’ve been coming to Sapphire for over 6 months now. All the girls are so friendly and welcoming. Anais has been doing regular massages on me every 2/3 weeks and it has really helped my back pain. Ive had massages regularly for the past 10 years and she is by far the best I’ve ever had. So knowledgeable and just a lovely person inside and out. The best around x

Would definitely recommend!

I’m clueless, my ‘beauty’ routine consists of moisturiser and the odd face mask. The staff are so lovely, more than happy to answer questions and offer services that suits your specific needs.

Always 5 stars! I have been having acne laser therapy for a couple of months now with Anais and I never have a bad comment for Sapphire. Had my first full body massage today with Jazz and it was honestly the best massage I’ve ever had, I felt so relaxed and all muscle aches gone will defo be rebooking!

Excellent massage

I went for a full body massage - I was greeted warmly when I arrived, and Jazz listened to where I wanted her to focus/avoid (I've sprained my ankle). A really nice room for the massage (warm, comfy, private) and Jazz was superb. Right amount of pressure (and she asked for confirmation as the massage got underway). I was thoroughly relaxed and would recommend Sapphire and Jazz to anyone. Will definitely go back!

Olivias facials are amazing

Olivias facials are amazing! I had radiofrequency and cool lift today and my skin looks and feels brand new. I will definitely continue with regular facials! Anais massages are the best ive ever had, i always come out so relaxed with all the tension in my shoulders gone, and Annie always makes my brows look great. Ive had a few treatments now including hifu, cryotherapy and skin rejuve. All the girls are so lovely, welcoming and informative, they've answered all my questions and given me the confidence to try different treatments and experience the amazing results. I can't recommend Sapphire enough.
