Acceptable service, but only because it’s free.
The majority of the tradesman that came out to carry out the work were very courteous. If you don’t have anctive extraction in “wet” rooms (kitchen/bathroom) then multiple visits will be required by different tradespeople to install these services. Electrician for vents, roofer if extraction needs to go through roof and then the cavity wall team who will want to install trickle vents on most windows if they don’t have them so will need access inside your home and outside all the way round.
For SCIS as a company, I find it ridiculous in this day and age that a text/email reminder/confirmation system is not in place given you already have these details. Especially since every step of my installation process was rearranged 2 or 3 times because of issues with tradespeople’s equipment.
Time will tell if the work is beneficial. If I were paying for this work though I would have cancelled it long before the cavity wall stage. Organisationally the process was very poor.

We're sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with parts of your experience, and we sincerely apologise if our process caused any frustration.
To clarify, the full installation process—including the number of appointments required—should be explained during the initial surveyor visit. While some properties do require additional appointments, not all do. Whether a roof tile vent is necessary depends on the most suitable way to install the extractor fan, which varies from home to home.
In a typical case, the process involves just two main appointments:
An electrician visit
The fabric installation (e.g. cavity wall insulation)
If active extraction is not already in place in “wet” rooms such as bathrooms or kitchens, additional appointments may be required, involving an electrician, roofer, and our cavity wall team. In these cases, access is often needed both inside and around the outside of the property to carry out the work correctly and to meet compliance standards.
We’re genuinely sorry you felt our communication fell short. We do call ahead before the fabric installation appointment to confirm everything is still okay to proceed. That said, we agree that a text/email confirmation system would be a valuable improvement, and we appreciate your feedback on this—it's something we are actively looking into.
We’re glad to hear that the majority of tradespeople were courteous during their visits, and we hope the completed work proves to be beneficial over time.

The 2 'workers' who came to our…
The 2 'workers' who came to our bungalow were very corteous and they explained what they would be doing.
They sealed any 'vent' areas to ensure that the insulation didn't 'come into' our bungalow.
They 'cleaned up' all the areas they had been working in and used a commercial hoover to ensure the areas were left 'clean and tidy'.
Well done - you would certainly be recommended by my wife and myself.

Trustworthy and reliable service
Reliable and efficient service. We had cavity wall insulation installed on the front and side of the property. Process involved several visits to assess and carry out the work but we were kept well informed as to when and where at all times. On the odd occasion that we had to contact their service center any queries we had were always dealt with politely and efficiently. Would recommend highly.

Cavity wall insurance
From the day I answered the door to Brad to the cavity wall insulation being installed a few weeks later, I was happy and impressed with the work the boys carried out. They arrived at the day and time specified and cleared up any mess before leaving.
It was nice to receive a call from Jack today to check I was happy with the installation.

Happy to Have My Cavity Walls Filled
When my cavity walls were finally filled with the insulation, I was very happy. The guys who filled the walls were very polite and when I had to leave my house to collect my child from school, they carried on with the insulation. When I came back, I wanted to ask what the insulation looked like but as they were all over the inside of my house and round the back and front, I didn't need to ask. The guys were apologetic and said they would clean them up. They offered to hoover the house but I said that was ok, but asked them if they could clean the back as the insulation balls were in my garden pots. They were able to blow them away and they cleaned my storage box out the front of my house.
After having this done, my house is definitely a lot warmer as the temperatures showing on my clocks normally fall quickly within 2hrs. I sit next to a window when working from home and am normally cold sitting there, not anymore. I've also found that my house is a lot quieter. I used to hear lots of noise but now, it's a lot more muffled.

Cavity wall insulation.
The survey went well. A date was made for the insulation chaps to visit.
They turned up, phoned me at work so I could come home and be with them while they drilled holes in my house. Once that was done, they pumped in the little silver balls (insulation) then plugged the holes. The chaps were very hard working and polite.
The holes drilled in the cement were filled with a similar colour mortar which is a good match. However the filling in the render didn't go quite so well. It dried back with quite a hollow in the middle. No worries though, I phoned in and said there was an issue and four days later remedial action was taken. The holes were refilled and now they look smooth.
One point I would make is that the clearing up would have been better if the chaps had had a vacuum cleaner to dispose of all the drill dust.
The rendered area of my house will need to be painted, but when done it will be hard to distinguish where holes were drilled.
As a final note....the house seems very warm currently, but perhaps that's just the weather we are having at the moment!

Between EON and SCIS it has taken a…
Between EON and SCIS it has taken a year to get from first contact to insulation date. SCIS called on Tuesday to confirm that the insulation team would be with me at 11am today. I have taken annual leave today to be available. At 11.45 the team had still not arrived so I phoned SCIS. I am told that there equipment is broken so they won't be coming today and that I needed to make an appointment on another day!
I am told there is no other team that can come and no alternative equipment. Really?
It's Unacceptable that they did not let me know earlier in the day. Now I have to waste another day's annual leave! They may not even turn up again!

The inspection was thorough. The guys who came to do the insulation were on time, very quick and efficient. There was quite a lot of mess left behind but that was to be expected as they were drilling through concrete.

Loft and Wall Insulation
SCIS were responsible for my cavity wall insulation and loft insulation as part of the ECO4 grant. The two workers who did the cavity wall insulation arrived on time, were polite and worked hard to get it all done and tidied up well afterwards, brilliant!
