Have used them for letting property for years, which has become increasingly bureaucratic and problematic in Oxford. Scott Fraser East Oxford have always been able to deal with the extra work and manage the property effectively. They always achieve top rental amounts and are a pleasure to deal with. Oliver Boyle, the manager, has been a great help with this and can't thank him enough.

Michelle Welsh is an absolute gem. When we moved in she took over from the normal contact of the block maintenance team, due to his annual leave.
She was really help and resourceful and sorted out boiler, garden tap and water meter issues with the shortest notice possible.
She also helped to make sure that any deadline tasks we made aware of and help with the bookings as well.
She was also prudent with the follow ups as well, which really made us feel we are valued customer of Scott Fraser.
Highest marks and well done Michelle. Thank you

Patrick and the team went above and beyond - highly recommended - having used several agents over the years by far the best experience.

These people are just scammers. They put my property on the market. Didn't respond to any emails for 3 weeks and there are no viewings. In that time they didn't put a sign at my house saying for sale. When I went to their offices, my property wasn't even on show in their window or inside. They had pictures of properties with 'SOLD' written on it rather than have my property. As this was suspicious, a friend queried asking for details about the property via Rightmove and got no response from Scott Fraser. Their plan was to tell me that there was no interest and then make me drop the price. Then they'd sell it on to a friend. There are minimal houses for sale in Oxford and therefore Scott Fraser were actively trying to reduce the price I'll accept. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.

MID-TERM PROPERTY VISIT APPOINTMENT
We are great with Zoe Collins, upon taken over as the property manager, we have experienced prompt response to issues, call back mechanism, attention to details and flexibility in scheduling appointments.
Her ability to reschedule events or appointments to meet tenants workplan demands commendations.

The service we have received so far has been outstanding. Both Patrick Murray and Adrian Wraight have given excellent advice. I have been extremely impressed with the service so far, including an accurate valuation, and their ability to find buyers from their well maintained list of interested clients.

I had an amazing experience and thank you Chantel for all your help through the process! True customer service that was professional and helpful!
It was a wonderful experience. Covered all topics with a smile and made us feel comfortable with the viewing.
In terms of getting in contact and communicating with the agent she showed dedication to her job by not only replying quick but also with detailed answers for any questions we had.
Good quality traits for someone who quite recently started their job. So appreciations go to Scottfraser and their wonderful upcoming team…especially Chantel!
Cosmo was super helpful and our agent throughout.
Excellent service and communication
They are scammers. My worst nightmare.
They took away my peace and my money.
My mental health suffered a lot because of them. They claimed the door was damaged which was a lie few months after I moved out and they kept harrassing me with email. Tried to speak with Ben the property manager but he was always busy and didn't call back. I requested for a photo of the door, didn't get it. No way to contact the depositary. In the end I paid because I didn't want any trouble because of my status.
Complaints I made whilst living in the house were never attended to.
Please run from scotfraser, they will milk you dry and never attend to your issues.
Chantel Phipps was absolutely fantastic throughout our whole moving process! Everything went smoothly and she was attentive and communicative the whole time.
If I could put minus stars I would . DO NOT LET WITH SCOTT FRASER!!
We arrived with MULTIPLE breakages and damages including the bathroom window which only got fixed after 2 YEARS! Lived there for 2 years and only some maintenance failures and breakages (that were there at the beginning) were fixed. Garage was falling down and an absolute joke. They asked us to pay a renting membership instead of deposit and when we pulled out to pay the deposit they took 5 months to sort it and wrongly continued to charge us ‘renting membership’. At the end of our time there they had the cheek to charge us with the breakages that were there at the beginning despite evidence of our reports.
My House had a roof issue for more than 4 months to be exact 5 months, during this period i lost my phone and laptop for the water leak.. after the leak is fixed they never repaired the internal mould or leak aras. Even they removed the smoke alram cap where the water was leaking and not even bothered to remove.
I went through horrible face during that time and became helpless. they never responds to your email where you mention about problems. at the time of checkout they falsified checkout report itself by sent the checkout agent after they covered all the water leak damage. they literally made sure that checkout agent takes the photo of the renovating house with all dust and debbries of the paint. claimed around £1200 for the cleaning from the deposit scheme. now i am raising the dispute but there process of arbitration is manual.. you send the document not really sure they will give all the details to do arbitration or not. Please avoid taking the home where its managed by scottfraser.. they are frauds and scam agents. they make all the documents however they want.. i will be blogging about them soon.
Very friendly team, who communicated well with us throughout the selling process. Also provided a more generous valuation than other agents, and this turned out to be much more accurate. Also very kind and thoughtful when things didn't go to plan. Thanks Patrick and team.
I’m writing this to express my dissatisfaction with the student rental experience we had through Scott Fraser in the East Oxford area. Our tenancy began with a major issue: on the day before our scheduled move-in, we received a call from Scott Fraser stating that they were unable to provide us with keys due to a supposed guarantor problem. This issue had not been evident when we initially signed the contract, and we were informed mere hours before our planned move-in, causing considerable inconvenience and disruption to our plans. It appeared as though the agency's handling of our situation lacked professionalism, and we felt as though we were marginalised because we were only student renters.
Upon finally gaining access to the property, we discovered that it did not align with the description provided, and it required substantial maintenance. While we acknowledge that property maintenance falls under the landlord's responsibility, Scott Fraser served as the middleman. We encountered issues such as mould growth, broken blinds, and a "dining room" that was, in reality, a garage filled with unusable, filthy furniture. Despite promptly notifying Scott Fraser of these concerns, we received minimal response or follow-up, leaving us feeling neglected. Though maintenance eventually showed up to inspect the issues, they left never to be seen or heard from again.
Furthermore, our tenancy concluded in July 2023, and it is now mid September and we still haven’t received the reimbursement of our deposit. We diligently provided all required information to expedite this process, yet it seemed as though our case was either forgotten or not given the attention it deserved. The protracted delay in deposit reimbursement compelled me to write this formal review.
Our experience with Scott Fraser in the Headington area was marred by numerous issues, including last-minute complications during move-in, unaddressed property maintenance concerns, and an extended delay in receiving our deposit refund. These experiences have left us dissatisfied with the agency's professionalism and customer service standards. If you’re thinking about using Scott Fraser, please be prepared to be on the phone every other day, encouraging them to do their job and fighting for them to reimburse your deposit.
We rented a house with Scott Fraser after a few disappointing experiences with other letting agencies. They seemed more reliable and professional, but we were completely wrong.
The lady who was doing the process of renting with us sent me an email about something called Homeshift. According to her, it was a site where we could register to have a place to manage all of our bills all together. I asked if it was mandatory, to which she said no, so I emailed her saying we did not want it.
After getting all the paperwork done and all ready to move into our new flat, just by chance the lady from the agency told us the move in date had been pushed forward for a month since, according to her, they had to clean the property. That caused us problems with our landlords at the time. When we moved into the property, it was absolutely filthy. There were stains all over the walls that were not there when we went to see the flat, the carpet was disgusting and the house was full of dust everywhere. We had to deep clean it the moment we arrived.
The inspection of the property that they did was not very thorough, since pretty evident things like the fan on the toilet and the switch on the living not working, a completely cracked board on the bed or a massive gap in the kitchen boards were not noted. We reported everything, they fixed the lights and the bed and the property manager asked us to record everything on the blank pages of the inventory and sign it and send it back to her, which we did.
In the documents sent by the agency, it was detailed the electricity and gas of the property were operated by SSE, and that they would send us a letter with the first bill and account number. Our surprise was when SSE told us they were not in charge of the gas since February (we moved in March), but a company called Homeshift. Turned out it wasn't a platform to manage your bills as they said, but a gas company. Scott Fraser opened a contract with them in our name since February, even though our contract started in March. When we googled the company, everything on Google was talking about this company being reported as a scam. When I told the property manager, she said she was not aware of this and offered no help. We sent them the contract to prove we only started living there in March and closed the account, but even after starting with SSE they still wanted to charge us saying they were our providers and we had to threaten them with getting lawyers involved for them to stop.
During the 2 years we lived there, we had 3 property managers, who changed without notice, making it very difficult to have someone to contact.
We also had people coming into our house with their own key without prior notification while I was sleeping or showering 4 times, even though our contract clearly said we had to be notified 24h prior to any jobs being done and we had to give our consent to anyone being given the key if we were not going to be in the property. Since SF were not caring about this, I was eventually advised to call the police if this happened again. We simply made the decision to leave.
When we left, we vacated the property even early, left the house completely clean (we even fixed all the wall marks the previous tenant had left) and waited for them to tell us about our deposit. This had to be chased several times, and then they inisted on charging us for the kitchen board we had reported broken when we moved in. I sent them the evidence that we reported that the moment we entered the house and yet they did not care and wanted to charge us for it.
Don't rent with them, they will break your privacy all over again and scam you as much as they want.
We had (please note past tense) several rental properties with Scott Fraser.for nearly 15 years. The last couple of years the staff turnover has been high, no one cares, since COVID 3 monthly inspections have not been undertaken regularly. Even now there has been a year between inspections. A service we pay for. Issues are not resolved, communication is poor. Even when it’s raised to the managers it’s dire. Glad we have now moved all our properties elsewhere and I’m sure we will be happier landlords and we will have happier tenants as a result
All of the branch staff have been very supportive and I am very pleased with their professionalism and attitude throughout the sale
We had Ben coplin to help us move from the Cowley Road branch in Oxford. He was and has still been an outstanding employee! We went to chancellors to move and got nothing. When I got him on the phone he was on it! He deserves and promotion or pay rise. 10/10 for helping us move and not letting it get too stressful. Amazing at communicating to us and getting us to where we need to be. Couldn’t recommend anyone or any other company he’s definitely made your company look absolutely amazing.
