The blinds keep popping out on sides even with windows shut tight.
There are light spaces all around blinds, they allow lots of bits of light in.
On hot days blinds project heat up to 1 meter, feels really hot when standing next to blinds, (hotter than any other blinds I've had).
These blinds may only be suitable for windows that don't have a spot of variation in build and are not on second floor where you get more heat and wind.
Too expensive for what they offer (and don't offer).

Same as previous comments.
The company would not allow me to book a measure and quote without my partner present?
She just kept repeating herself over and over again on the phone that my partner needed to be present to pick colours and style
Could not provide any type of rough price or indication per meter, you have to go through all of that for just a measure and quote which could be thousands
20 minutes of the worst conversation ever spoke to me as if women have no idea what they are doing and insisted a man be present in 2026!!!!

I don't really understand what just happened - screenaway promote a retractable insect screen product called viewtek. They offer and free measure and quote and explained that they can send out a rep with materials and he will give me the quote straight away. The property I want to install the screen is in southeast Gippsland - they don't service anywhere in Victoria beyond a radius between Pakenham and the CBD. So I ask if they could send the rep to my home in town, where I'll show him the plans and give precise measurements and take responsibility for any failure of installation. They wouldn't do that because the screen is intended for a house outside of the service area.
Why, I ask? Because the screen is intended for a house outside of the service area. But why? The house is outside of the service area... etc.
No go on the Viewtek. Bye bye Screenaway.

I recently submitted a request for a measure and quote for retractable screen doors. However, upon receiving a response, I was met with persistent and rather forceful demands for my partner’s personal information before they would agree to send a tradesperson to complete the measure and quote. This was despite the fact that I had already provided my own full details and our home address.
It should be noted, that under Australian privacy principles, businesses are expected to collect only information that is reasonably necessary for their services, and requesting personal details of another household member without a clear and lawful purpose and without their permission, feels like a massive overreach. I found their insistence on obtaining my partner’s information intrusive and entirely unnecessary. The experience left me uncomfortable, such an unprofessional approach and a troubling example of needless information gathering.

We recently had a visit from a ScreenAway Design Consultant for a quote, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing.
The booking confirmation said the visit would take 30-60 minutes and include measurements, samples, and colour selection. Instead, the consultant stayed for over two hours - the first 20 minutes were small talk that felt like a sales tactic. Measurements and colours took only about half an hour.
Then came the pricing. We were quoted around $17k, then told there might be a “free install” promo but he’d have to “call his boss” to check, even though our SMS already said they currently have a “Free Install promotion on offer with interest-free on all orders placed.” After the call, he dropped about $2k, then offered a “marketing deal,” called again, and gave a final “best offer” of $10.9k if we signed on the spot.
When we said we’d like to compare other quotes first, his tone changed - defensive, pushy, and uncomfortable. He abruptly packed up, clearly frustrated, and left after more than two hours in our home.
I saw a similar review here that ScreenAway called fake - well, obviously, it wasn’t.

Worst company ever. Salespeople are bullies, pathetic games being played by their head office when trying to close the sale. I'll just call the office for the "promotional deal", next it was "oh we have a marketing offer for you" After that it was "we'll give you a first time here deal". My mum had to make an excuse to go out so she could get rid of these people out of her home. This is after they told her there was no pressure to buy, we are not a high pressure sales company. Absolutely hounded her. Most unethical company have ever dealt with, they do not believe in the " no obligation " part of a free quote.

First off, I just want to put it out there that I’m not linked in with any social media and this is my first time ever giving feedback about a company or service I’ve received..
I should have known not to book in the first two minutes of talking to the young girl making the appointments for my two properties. First I was asked a lot of person questions, like do I own the home, is my husband going to be there, and do I work. I told the young girl, sorry I do not wish to answer such personal questions, I just call to book in a free measure and quote. After going around in circles I finally got a time for my home the next day. Great, but during the debacle of conversation I forgot to book in my rental, so back on the phone again with the same girl.
Only to be told I couldn’t make two bookings. They would come to one property and while there discussed the other property with me. Unsure how this works if your not measuring window or looking at colour matching.. After speaking to a manager I finally was able to book my rental in for the next day too at a different time.
An hour and a half before the first quote I get a call from a lady telling me they won’t be coming to my home, because they have already been to my home for a quote twice in the past six years. So I said fine cancel both my bookings. Then I find the lady has used my last quote of over a year ago with only eight windows and emailed me a quote.
I feel this is an invasion of my private details without my consent as I canceled my appointments.
As a customer, there is no where in any ScreenAway documentation, stating a customer can only receive one measure and quote appointments in a particular timeframe. If she read my previous quotes, she would see the quote was for eight windows. However, I was now looking at getting a quote and ideas for a new look in my home, for 21 windows and 2 sliding doors for my two storey home.
As I have not purchased from ScreenAway in the past I thought I would call and arrange a quote. I did have quite a number of people tell me not to use ScreenAway, due to rude customer service, but I thought I would go ahead and call anyway, only to find the customer service was appalling.
I’m extremely disappointment in the complete lack of customer service ScreenAway has provided to myself.
I have nine rental properties which you also have missed out on quoting.
I still can’t understand why ScreenAway’s first point of contact team (girls that make appointments) think they have the right to tell a customer they have had to many appointments, even if a customer is looking at getting other windows quoted to change the look of there home… who are you to tell me I can’t change my window covers within a year.
So I will be now be letting everyone I know how this company needs a lot of training in how to treat a customer when calling to make an appointment.

On 21st December 2024, they came out, measured, insisted on part payment of $1050, which we did.
On 24th April, 2025, I phoned them as I wanted our money returned immediately and told them how unimpressed I was with their total lack of communication; our money sitting in their bank account and we got nothing in return,
I was eventually told they lost our measurements from January after a second guy came out to re-measure. So I asked why weren’t we contacted and told that? Would I still be waiting in another 4 months or more if I hadn’t called??? I want our money returned and I will never ever do business with them again!
I wonder how long we will be forced to wait for OUR money to be returned?

Worst customer service. They lost our blinds, didn't notify us so we were waiting at home for installation. Didn't reschedule. Then turned up at the wrong time to install. Not replying to emails after for feedback on their service. The blinds are blackout and ok, but for the money and hassle go elsewhere!

Horrific blinds! Don’t stay within their tracks and the aggressive, dismissive staff refuse to fix them nor refund us. They use bully tactics and not taking any accountability for their poor quality blinds and rude customer service! Do not use ScreenAway!

Appalling service and product. Blockout blinds were faulty and running off the rail. Despite contacting the company repeatedly for months their staff took no action. I would highly recommend avoiding this company.

The windows need to closed when the blinds are down. That information was not told to us BEFORE we signed. So either we pay $180 to remove it and throw $1000 in the bin or use aircon every night for ever. What a ripoff, stay away from the business at all cost and save your money.

Night shift worker here in a professional field in client services situated in QLD Brisbane. The service Screenaway provided was absolutely TERRIBLE. The blinds are poor quality for the expense and there are small light holes. I will never go with them again.
After the initial sales pitch consultation, you have to book a check measure person to measure your blinds for a second time. I booked it in and you have to wait at home in a 2 hour window, usually 2-4pm. I waited on the day and no body came to my property. I tried to call after 4pm but Screenaway closes at 4pm. Next day, no one contacts me with an explanation as to why no one came and still to this day they have not given a reason.
I called Screenaway eventually and explained the situation. No explanation, just an apology and rebooked this check measure again at a 2-4pm slot again. Waited on the day until 3.30pm and called Screenaway to ask for an ETA. The Screenaway desk person told me the check measure man was in a suburb 20mins away and passive aggressively told me that my booking was up to 4pm. No one presented by 3.50pm. So I called Screenaway again but they already closed their phone lines?? Even though the website says they close at 4pm???
I then write a formal complaint demanding an explanation and compensation to their main email to which they kept gas lighting me that they haven't received. So then I send screenshots of the email to the mobile phone they use for texts and communication.
They replied back claiming they are still within the time frame of completing the task despite the multiple no-explanation missing check measure person WHICH HAPPENED TWICE, and thus do not feel the need to compensate me. They offered me a $50 discount anyway. For blinds that cost over $1000, $50 is a very pathetic discount. I emailed back saying this is unacceptable service and asked for an explanation again as to why no one turned up and they have still not replied for weeks now.
The blinds were fitted and then payment was issued. There was NO $50 discount applied so I recieved no compensation for all the inconvenience they caused me.
I recommend against these blinds to all my peers and promised I will write this review on every media page they advertise so everyone is aware of the terrible service they might experience. It's 2025 now and simply unacceptable to unhold such a practice of poor communication and service.

I had 3 blinds installed. They were all trash that fell off the rails. $3000 down the drain for unusable blinds. Buyer beware.

we selected monument color blinds for our 2 windows but they gave us one white and one monument (this is what they wrote on the contract) and now they wanted us to pay another $400+ to change the white color to monument. This definitely is a SCAM!

very shabby time frames and service (except for one guy who was brought in as a trouble shooter). the installation process took over a year. the blinds pop out of the runners every time the wind blows. they were advertised as complete balck out blinds, but they only guarrantee 97% black out. I just discovered that they didn't install a charging port on one of the blinds - so it is stuck half way (yay). Can anyone recommed another block out blind company? i'm in brisbane

I have only just had blinds installed, and the job is not complete, however what is installed is faulty and poor quality.
I can only echo all the other 1 star reviews.
I wish I never signed up with this company and feel completely ripped off.
I will not waste time if not satisfied and proceed down legal path without haste.
PLEASE BE WARNED.

Horrible Product
The blinds were installed incorrectly. They refuse to fix them. I’ve had the installer come out and review but then they just ghost me. They pop out at the sides and look horrible and don’t block any light. The whole experience has been extremely stressful.

Buyers beware. Product doesn't come as advertised. The header box where the blind retracts to is to big to sit flush to the window. This is despite salesman showing me a sample and assuring me it would be. IT LOOKS SO BAD.. Literally looks nothing like the sample I was shown or in any of the advertising.
To make matters worse is the fact that the office basically blamed the salesman and said they don't know why he would have told me that the blinds would be flush to the window frame.
They then promised the Qld State Manager would come and look at fixing the problem. I waited for over a month only to find out that he is no longer available and that I'll have to wait until next year.
I have no idea what the status of my situation is because they have ignored emails and or deliberately not replying.
Zero accountability. Poor to non existant communication. Zero interest in resolving this situation.
Don't waste your time or money with this company.
**update** after i posted this review on their facebook page they have now blocked me rather than actually trying to resolve the situation. They are proactive in avoiding their responsilities and not so proactive on fixing their mistakes.
