I ordered a new Seat Ateca from Seat Hatfield. The sales advise and support has been excellent.
I did change my my mind on one of the packages for the car and this was dealt without fuss and enabled me to get exactly what I wanted.
I thoroughly recommend Hatfield Seat.

Bought a 2017 1.4Tsi Leon from the Portsmouth branch. Lovely car, great price and staff were excellent. Made us feel comfortable, not pushy and very helpful 👍
Seat Marshalls at Braintree, FANTASTIC.
Seat Marshalls at Braintree where absolutely brilliant. Glenn Lilley the sales man was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for him.
Very efficient service, explained offers an insurance clearly.
I highly recommend buying a car from this dealership.
Steer clear of Seat and FG Barnes
Purchased brand new Seat Leon Fr. Worst experience of life. Dealer all smiles & laughs to get the deal, but then an abysmal car & dealer customer service. Car 3 weeks late in being available. on collection car had chip in passenger door and virtually no valet with filthy engine compartment. Should have walked then but had paid balance prior to pick up etc. Dealer assured us car would be fixed asap. Ok we thought, oh no! on drive home warning lights on for passenger airbag constantly, then brake gets noisy and spongy. Check manual & dealer has not activated airbag!! A day later warning lights and exclamation marks all over dashboard & infotainment screen indicate park assists\parking sensors faulty! and a wiper is smearing badly. Call dealers who book car in. They keep car 2 days & despite numerous calls we never got an update, so go to dealership. They advise everything done but the valet as need car more than 2 days to valet it. Demand car is returned so they get it and happily say, sensors reset its possibly an intermittent fault, brake servo filter replaced, wiper sorted and the chip has been touched up.
Total farce, we check chip which is still there and point out to an embarrassed member of staff. So the primary things it went in for a chip repair and valet not done. The staff member advised us ironically, if it had been him he would have refused the car when we collected it on registration!! Wow at least he was honest. So in it goes again, this time for 3 days and it's semi sorted out. The intermittent issue with park assist, park sensors is still there but Seat do not know how to correct this even after referral to the technical team, so advise to monitor it!!. Have owned Seat Leon\ibiza before and they were good cars, but the latest model is awful as is dealership customer service. We have also contacted Seat HQ 4 times to complain and never once had any reply. Will never but a Seat again.
Their Trustpilot rating speaks volumes 66% 1 star bad reviews, so 2thirds of customers very unhappy.
VW group. Quality no more.
Not the quality car Seat/VW were once renowned for.
I purchased my Seat Ibiza FR In June 2019.
The, sat nav was factory preset to avoid motorways.
I find the interior plastic looking. It seems Seat have downgraded to the Skoda models the VW group now manufacture. There's a definite rattle on the dashboard, however the Seat mechanics were unable to locate the problem. If they had road tested the car they may well have come up with a diagnose.
Wind up rear windows for a top of the range Seat Ibiza. That's another downer in my opinion.
The inner driver's door seal has worn away after 2 years and 8000 miles.
Wear and tare they say it is from my feet touching the seal as I get out of the car. I have a different opinion. Poor quality parts.
There was two services included with my purchase. The service message icon came up on the entertainment screen. I took it in for a service. The receptionist said you should you have come in last year. I queried this with the manager. He said that's right it's in your paper work.. I must admit they got me with that one.
What's the point of the service warning light flashing if it's inacurrate information?
The car is under powered. Sluggish off roundabouts and traffic lights even
in sports mode.
If you want a top quality sporty car my advice is avoid the Seat Ibiza FR.
My opinion is once Seat have got your money they don't give a toss.
I'm sorry to say I won't be buying another new car from the VW group.
Outstanding customer service at Snows SEAT.
The customer service at Snows SEAT Basingstoke has been outstanding. I have been dealt with in such a considerate manor by staff. Many thanks to Gareth Reynolds for all the help and top quality customer service. You have definitely helped out in my times of need. I will be sure to come back and use you guys again.
We bought a new SEAT Arona
We bought a new SEAT Arona, and still under warranty develops a warning EPC warning light 'that can indicate a variety of problems with your vehicle, some of which can be extremely harmful to your engine'.
The earliest that Hendys Brighton can look at the car is in two weeks, no attempt to 'go the extra mile' just a 'take it or leave it' and a 'tough, that's when we can fit you in' attitude.
We will need to rent a car for two weeks.
DO NOT BUY A SEAT AS THE DEALER NETWORK IS JUST NOT CUSTOMER FOCUSSED
2018 Seat Ibiza 115 FR DSG
I've just clocked past 15000 miles over 30 months. Not a high mileage driver.
I've had the car from new, and absolutely nothing has gone wrong, so I've not really had any dealership experience other than regular servicing.
I'm happy to say that the little Seat has exceeded my expectations. This is my first Seat, and only bought it because VW failed to deliver a car that had been on order for over 10 months.
The only reason I can't leave a full five start rating is down to the dealership (WJ King Sidcup). They were unable to provide a courtesy car when my car was in for servicing after the sales department had sold both of their courtesy cars. However, to compensate I was offered a discount.
The car itself is awesome
The car itself is awesome. I’ve had it 2 years with no issues at all. Super fast with 30 mpg I think for a high performance car is excellent. Sadly the engine has now been changed to a 1.5 boring thing. Sadly when it’s time for a new one I shall have to look at something other than seat. I normally change every 3 years but I’m so tempted to keep it longer. Just love it that much
Using Horton SEAT in Lincoln for years…
Using Horton SEAT in Lincoln for years to buy my Ibizas, but this time I wanted something completely different. I dealt with Jim this time round who has been absolutely amazing. I had been looking for a Audi TT online for many months and Jim found exactly what I wanted within a matter of minutes - car is absolutely beautiful and a great price. Due to covid and my shielding restrictions, he managed everything for me - was all done by phone, email, online and as I only live down the road, the car was brought to my door and my old one collected (he dealt with all the tax issues on the day of delivery) - it was a completely seemless, hassle free and brilliant service. Would highly recommend.
Brilliant experience
I have recently gone for a pch deal with seat in Stourbridge, my friend gave me details to get in touch as she has the same. From the moment I emailed everything has been really easy, informative, also they are very kind and overall I have had a brilliant experience. Was really easy to choose the car I wanted, with the information given and with just a few details from myself they offered me brilliant deals, all within budget and exactly what I was looking for. As I work long hours my car was delivered to my work place. Stunning car, I have the Arona FR, everything completed and easily done online, had a follow up with a personalised video 2 weeks after receiving my car. Can't complain about anything, simple and easy. Would highly recommend.
Grasping con artists
Part of the fuel filler cap assembly corroded on a less than 3 year old car.
They expect me to pay for it. Crap cars, crap service. I raised the issue but the response to my letter clearly showed that nobody had bothered to read it properly as it was bordering on irrelevant. I contacted seat uk again but have had no response in over 2 weeks so they don’t care. Abysmal attitude, will never buy a seat again as long as I live and would advise anyone else to avoid them too.
poor service
poor service
just taken car for first mot at independent garage he asked when it was last serviced,2 months ago i replied he laughed and said look at the oil filter it was corroded .no way it had been changed in november at service.
i phoned seat to complain they said that the service manager would call me he didnt. so i went to the dealership they looked at the filter said it was genuine and said it had been replaced.didnt even look underneath at the filter where it is rusty.
Lost keys 4-6 weeks
2018 seat Ibiza
Seat is a funny dealership Star city
I have lost my keys and have come to seat to get a replacement they have quoted they need to order my new key from Germany has to be cut to chassis and can take up to 4 to 6 weeks
However I can go to Audi Mercedes Volkswagen and they can provide me a key code and I can have a key made the same day
I’m sure if you buy a car it comes with a key code but with seat it’s backwards so if you lose your keys Seat will have to order from Germany absolutely ridiculous when you own the vehicle but you can’t obtain a key code from the dealer but when you buy a car it comes with a key code strange isn’t it so please avoid Seat.
Mixed Feelings
I purchased a used Ibiza from Seat Worcester, the staff there were really friendly and polite and took time to help my identify all the features on the new car which was appreciated.
A few months after, I came to realise that the service history was missing a stamp (it’s major service when it was at the sister dealer - they offered to cover the cost of my next service and said they would rectify this and update the service book when I brought it in, they didn’t do this and I had to fight my case to get them to stick to their word and pay for the service!).
6 months later the first MOT was due as well as the brake fluid needing changing, took it to Seat Crewe for this and also got my aircon serviced, I also asked them to look at a dent in the bumper caused by an unknown party hitting it while parked, the parking sensor was going off randomly so I wanted them to look at it and see if they could fix it.
They did everything and said there was nothing wrong with the front parking sensor (there was). A few weeks later my brakes felt very spongy and I had to take it to my local garage and they found lots of trapped air in the brake lines - really dangerous! When I contacted Seat they didn’t get back to me for a number of weeks and at that point it was just a call to apologise with no offer to cover the cost of their own mistake.
4 months later, at 17,500 miles, the car developed a very common fault with the engine so ended up with both the EPC and Engine lights on. As it was out of warranty by a few months, Seat would have nothing to do with it even though there are so many people who have experienced the issue.
I have since sold the car as a result of that issue, I worked out cheaper to sell the car than to fix the issue (estimated at over £1000 to fix based on parts and labour).
I would like to compliment the great…
I would like to compliment the great staff at SEAT Hatfield. On Tuesday i noticed that my seat ateca had a check oil light on. My car had only done 6,900 miles so i popped into SEAT as i was concerned. The staff immediately checked the car for oil leaks which there were none. Reassured me and topped the oil up. So impressed with your great service. Thank you
Appalling after sales customer service
Appalling after sales customer service, support and empathy. Do not buy a Seat if you want peace of mind if your car breaks down! The tenuous relationship between the AA, dealerships and Seat Customer Service (the brand) allows Seat to distance themselves from any ownership of problems and as a brand do not support the customer or dealership in taking away the problem from the customer.
Top of the range Seat Terraco only a year old broke down on Christmas eve and had to be towed to dealership to be fixed. A hire car was provided. On return, 3 weeks later the engine management warning light came on so called Seat Roadside Assistance again. This time they refused to arrange for recovery to the dealership and I was told to drive the car with the warning light on to the dealership who didn't have a courtesy car available and couldn't look at the car for 5 weeks. Seat customer service told me there was nothing they could do and even though their manual says DO NOT drive the car with this warning light on were happy for me to take the risk! The nearest dealership is 40 minutes drive away and with no car to get home and no indication of how long it would take to fix despite having a record of the AA diagnostic I was left stranded with a broken car under warranty and a potential wait time of 5 weeks just to look at the problem.
Totally incompetent
Total incompetence from the moment the car developed a fault. Seat arona with 800 miles on clock wouldnt start saturday. Called seat assist, they sent out the AA. Couldnt do anything. They sent out seat technician. He said he needed part, would return monday. Returned monday couldnt rectify problem, so requested recovery and hire vehicle. Received no call to organise this as promised, so made several calls before recovery guy turns up Tuesday. Asked him about hire car, said he knew nothing about it but would sort it out. Had to call hire company after several hours, as noone called to organise from there end.hire Car turns up tuesday evening. Thursday, received a call from enterprise, telling me the seat dealer had contacted them to take the car off hire. I then called the dealer to ask if the car had been repaired. He said they wouldnt even be looking at it till the following Monday! I then asked why the hire car had been cancelled and he says he doesnt know what im talking about. I then learn my car had been taken to the wrong dealership 8 miles away from the one i requested! Asked seat assist for help, said head office would have to deal with it. After 30 minutes on hold, informed by them there was nothing they can do and i would have to call seat assist!!!!??? They then called the dealer, who said they are very busy and have no replacement car available. Im looking at 2 weeks without a vehicle i am paying 200 a month to lease, without a replacement. Im a key worker and there is no public transport to my work destination.
Totally flabbergasted and amazed at every aspect of this. Avoid seat at all costs.
New Car Purchase
Buying a new car is not always a rewarding experience, however I can only compliment Snows Seat of Southampton at making the whole experience a pleasant one whilst coping with the difficulties during the Tier3/Tier4 and second/lockdown period. I recently purchased a new Seat Ateca Xperience Lux from this dealership and the members of the sales team and management I met were very helpful in acquiring the vehicle and colour I wanted. I must commend Ryan Coat on his polite and efficient manner and overall excellent customer service during the whole sales transaction, many thanks to him. Even the collection of the vehicle and processing of the final documentation went smoothly under the difficult times of lockdown. 😷This dealership would appear to be very well organised for coping with these difficult times and look forward to future aftersales service with them.😎👍
Shoddy quality on top of the line car
New cars are expensive, but you'd hope that along with that expense you would at least get a car that is reliable for the first 5 years.
We bought a top of the range £38,000 Seat Alhambra back in 2016. Beautiful car, from a family point of view there simply is nothing that beats it.
Unfortunately we have had to spend countless days and hours with the dealer due to serious faults.
First one of the electric powered doors developed a fault within the first 18 months. Despite multiple examples of video evidence of the fault it took months for Seat to finally own up to the problem and fix it.
One month past the 3 year warranty period water began leaking into the cabin. This turns out to be a well known and very expensive (think £3000+) fault with the sunroof cassette. After weeks of threatening to take them to court they finally agreed a figure closer to £800 for the repair.
Now just 10 months later the sunroof cassette has once again failed.
The car has always been well maintained at the dealer, no accidents have occurred and the car has been, in their own words, "extremely well looked after" and yet we have had three major faults in the first 4 years of the cars life.
As much as I love the Alhambra I know longer trust the Seat brand and will not buy another car from them.
