Phoned Yorkshire bank about a problem …
Phoned Yorkshire bank about a problem I had and the woman on the phone to me was brilliant with me just want to say the problem was with me not the bank thankyou
I have been banking here for years
I have been banking here for years. I went to take a form to the local bank to make an international payment. This couln't be done because I had no ID. I explained to the girl that more than one person would know me in the bank, but she didn't ask anyone to confirm who I was, I had to fetch my Id, which I did only to be told when I returned by another staff that she could have confirmed who I was.
I am trying to run a business this bank does not make it easy. If you try the online chat it signs you out. If you ring it takes over 131 minutes for someone to answer.
Outstanding service for Mortgages
I am really surprised to all the negative reviews on the Yorkshire Bank ! I have just used them for a mortgage and could not have asked for a better service ! From the initial enquiry to completion every member of staff I worked with was fantastic and it was all done over the phone and email . I highly recommend the Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank for mortgage services, FIRST CLASS
Have been with Yorkshire Bank for years…
Have been with Yorkshire Bank for years . Since they changed to Virgin Money things both online and on the 'phone have gone downhill rapidly . Now you can no longer view or administer your credit card online, it's only available as an app on a mobile 'phone. Not everyone wants to do their banking on the go while chasing Pokemon or whatever. Some adults are quite happy to have switched to online banking but unfortunately this is no longer an option . It took a while for me to accept internet banking but having made the change this is now no longer available at Yorkshire Virgin Money Bank . Typical of the "Do no harm" bearded space monkey Branson . I am moving banks .
Absolutely appalling service re…
Absolutely appalling service re mortgages after attempting to add myself to my partners mortgage I was told that it doesn't fit affordability even after running the affordability calculator and the AIP myself as a qualified mortgage advisor myself and neither or us with any loans or credit cards. I will be moving myself to another lender! also watch the extortionate ERC,s my partners mortgage doesn't even have the standard 10% annual overpayment facility that nearly all mortgages have dispite only taking the product up 3 years ago
Needed help with phone banking app

Take too long to answer the phone; have given up. Wish I'd stayed with RBS
Dreadful bank
I am trying to pay our roofer for work completed, only allowed to pay 50% via telephone banking in one 24 hour period. The balance has been held back for a security check so tried transferring it to my wife for her to pay it but still held back. It's my money and this pack of serial incompetents don't seem capable of releasing it. They're useless and completely disinterested, I've been on the phone for well over 3 hours. Tomorrow I will be finding a new bank hopefully not overloaded with such a group of serial incompetents who seem incapable of communicating reliable information. I'm still on the phone!
Frustrated caller...
Have just spent 15 minutes trying to get through on the telephone without success.
Awful online banking
Awful online banking, hardly works at all. Annoying £300 limit per transaction, and a tedious 2FA on every single transaction. Try paying your builder 3k in ten payments each going through a 2FA text. Very slow response, standing order edits and cancellations don't work. They have the worst IT I have ever encountered. Hoped the switch to Virgin might have improved things, but it's clearly just a front-end makeover, the back-end is as slow and buggy as ever.
Looking for a new bank, after 30 years with YB.
Business fraud and can’t get to speak to anybody
Having a very bad time , my Business Bank has had fraudulent behaviour, I have tried since Saturday to contact the fraud team but can not get through, I am very upset by this they are supposed to be my partner in business, it’s terrible What I am going through, every time I get to speak to someone I get cut off
So one please help me at Yorkshire Bank

Visited Cleckheaton branch this morning, & a lovely lady at the front desk very kindly took me to where l needed to wait to be seen by Clare, who helped me get my tablet in order owing to me locking myself out,Clare was so patient with me,& made sure it was all working again & I was so grateful.Thank you both for helping me as you did.
This is the worst bank EVER
This is the worst bank EVER - and the competition for that title is fierce.
The most nonchalantly unhelpful staff I have ever come across. The waiting times and the contradictions for simple enquiries are stressful and actually unacceptable. After the last experience, I will withdraw my money and move to a bank that is not as inept. If you're a business customer, you can't take a chance with such utter ineptitude.
All I can say is I've had enough of…
All I can say is I've had enough of them. I've been with them maybe 30 years and I am sick to death of them. This is just one incident (of many) Went to the local shop to use my card, it was declined. I have NEVER in the whole of my life been so f embarrassed. I wouldn't mind if there was no money in, or even if I was trying to spend and extortionate amount. But it was £10 in an account that has far more money in than that. You cannot get your money out. When you move money online they make you tell them what it's for. Ie you're sending money to a relative or you owe a bill or it's to another account. What f business is it of theirs? Anyway I tried to pay for something AGAIN on Friday, they didn't let it go through. I've had enough of this NANNY state bank, who treat you like an f imbecile with you own money. Come next pay day that account will be closed, all the money shifted and my wages going somewhere else. Im going to the conduct authority in regard to the oppressive way they are conducting these accounts under the excuse of 'trying to protect' your funds.
Chronic difficulties accessing my money
I had an extremely frustrating experience in which I couldn't get the money out of my ISA once its term had expired without physically visiting a branch 1 hour from where I live during working hours meaning I needed to take time off. I opened this account online in the first place it's insane how clunky it is to close it! The customer service team on the phone said they could do nothing and the only option was in store - MADNESS!
Yorkshire Bank Internet Banking is a joke
I have been a customer of the Yorkshire Bank for many years, relatively recently I signed up for Internet Banking.
I wish I hadn't, It is the worst online financial system by a country mile. Instead of logging on with your name you need a customer reference number. You then have to go through an unbelievably complicated sign in procedure which normally times out before you get anywhere close to signing in.
The system relies on a text to your mobile but usually by the time it has been received the website has timed out. It's an absolute joke, a team of IT monkees could do better!
It's worse than useless!
Now gone elsewhere!
This review is not just about Yorkshire bank it's about banking in general. Having been a customer of Y.B. for over 50 years I recently received a letter telling me my local branch was going to close, and as I flatly refuse to bank online, this could be a bit of a problem.
Granted I don't visit the bank as often as I used to but knowing it was there when I needed it kept me {and others} loyal customers.
All I ever had was a current account, money goes in direct debits and spending money go out simple, so now I have changed banks for a bank that assures me they are NOT closing and I got £100 for changing which is more than I ever got after 50 years with Y.B.
Reading reviews about banks you find the vast majority of the complaints are from "online" customers, so I'm afraid you get no sympathy from me. Before home computers and apps on phones people went to their local banks on a regular basis to do ALL their banking, even when I was working full time and regularly put in a 60 hour week I STILL made the time to go to the bank because that's what you did. Now by online banking you've probably saved yourselves an hour a month and by doing so I, and I suspect many others, have to watch our local branches close down because of lack of footfall and we have to go elsewhere.
Ask yourselves this question:-
Before online banking how many people do you think would have lost money, or worse still, their life savings by having their bank accounts hacked by scammers?
