I never did think much of this bank
I never did think much of this bank. I even think less of it now that they have asian coloured person who talks a load of crap working there on the counter. I am now with someone else.
Worst service ever
Worst service ever. Moved house 4 years ago and despite multiple emails, phone calls and messages they are still sending post to my old address. They have just informed me that they are cancelling my debit card soon as I need to use the new virgin money card that they have sent me. Guess what, they have sent it to my old address! No apologies, they are even making out that it is my fault. This bank was bad before but now virgin have taken over its even worse! Moved banks and will never use again. I was a customer for 30 years but that seems to mean nothing these days. Stay well clear unless you want them to leave you open to identity theft!!
Useless Bank you cant get your money…
Useless Bank you cant get your money when you want it!
I was going to use them for 2 businesses and personal accounts, this would amount to over £3,000000.00 BPD
No way in hell would i trust this bank now!
Disgusting and shameful
Disgusting, appalling, and shameful. I am a business customer. I have had to wait 40 minutes to get through them on a simple query. The guy who was so broad Geordie refused to listen, wouldnt talk at a normal pace and i couldnt understand a wrod he said. I asked to be transferred and he put the phone down.
Thought I had lost my card
Thought I had lost my card, they cancelled it. Then I found my card but they wouldn't reactivate it. I'm disabled and my card is my lifeline. That's going to be 5 working days waiting for my card that I can't buy food, pay for transport (without transport I can't go anywhere), pay bills or generally live. A consideration of how these things effect disabled people would be humane. I am seriously annoyed by the callousness of their policies and will be switching banks as soon as possible.
we have a buy to let mortgage that has…
we have a buy to let mortgage that has expired but flats sold awaiting completion .then send threatening letters
The Yorkshire bank used to be fantastic…
The Yorkshire bank used to be fantastic but now they have changed to the Virgin bank the customer no longer matters
They want to charge me £5 for a copy statement!!!!

VIRGIN YOU’RE ALIENATING YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!
Shocking
Shocking, this bank and its app is down more than its up.
I have seen branches slowly close, think there is 1 left in my entire Region.
Their internet banking is getting worse and more unreliable as time evolves.
Get a text and bave to log in to the app to authorise any payments I make, when I go to log in the app you get an error most days.
Ring up for help and thats a waste of time as well.
Just purchased a new vehicle, trying to pay my insurance deposit so I can drive off. Type my details into the payment section. Tells me via text I need to log in to authorise the payment. The app comes up with an error code, its literally a flip of the coin if its up or down this app. To top that off I just got another text as I type this review reminding me the app will be down next week. Hahaha sorry but I have to laugh to keep myself sane.
Surprise surprise ive had to just walk home and leave it. Now sat in the house for 45 mins trying to get through to someone.
Been with this bank for 25 years. I always told my parents it was a crap bank, turns out its getting worse.
I have got to the point where I…
I have got to the point where I actually dread phoning into the bank. The wait is unbearable, with endless call screening, and a stern voice telling they are busy with customers (what are you?). The app is awful, but made the experience better than calling at least. I am pretty sure they have a "shut up" button for irate callers too, where there is simply silence. You have to call again and wait 20 minutes and endless call screening. Finally gave me wrong information and I ended up sorting the problem myself. Exasperating and waste of my life. I will be changing banks. Virgin providing a non-service. (just checked, they have a mute button, which makes it look like there's a prob. customer hangs up).
No longer a great bank...no customer care
The Yorkshire bank used to be fantastic but now they have changed to the Virgin bank the customer no longer matters...booked a face to face meeting with the Derby branch 5 weeks in advance..then when we got there they refused to sit in the same office as me and my elderly father and would only talk to us via a phone from another office !!!!they said it was due to covid even though the restrictions have now ended....needless to say we walked out and are now moving accounts to the Halifax bank who seem to care more about customer service....avoid this bank.
Virgin Money Facade and Farce of modern banking.
Where do I start? Before leaving this awful excuse for a bank next week. The patronising dishonest checks, now I hsve to categorise every single transfer of money.. to protect me? No, them! The APP ? it will not open, no matter how often they deny wider problems? I cannot move money, it's a disgrace. I support a charity in USA, it took VM 3 months of calls and complaints before their IT system would let $6 p.m. through. The job cuts? While they are falling apart in an unmanageable takeover by Yorkshire Bank and cant answer the phone for 45 minutes any day, then try the yuppie sweet talk denying issues. They are losing a lot of £millions. And customers. You know I think Nationwide might just be better than HSBC deniers of Chinese fascism and Virgin Money facade of modern banking. Wish me luck.
Terrible bank…
I have a personal and business account with YB for over 10 years, I went into the cleckheaton branch to take £5k out of my account to pay for some building work. They wouldn’t let me have MY money to pay my builders. The Assistant Manager said that all builders were rogues and I had to be careful! I am an adult and fully aware of scams, I am in the middle of an extension and needed to pay my builder. Not only are they not allowing me to take my money from my account they are also discriminating against builders! I was made to feel like a criminal for wanting to take cash out! The staff were disgraceful the way they spoke to me and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I called to make an official complaint and the person I spoke to was extremely helpful and could not believe what I was telling her. I am closing all my accounts, my children’s accounts and my husbands account. We have gone with HSBC and they have been fantastic !
0 Stars if I could
So today, had nothing in my bank, nothing due to come out of my bank, nothing has been taken out of my account, but suddenly I’m in -£44. When I make payments, the money is removed from my account, sometimes comes back in my account a few days later to then be taken again. This has happened multiple times now, which when I haven’t realised, has left me in overdraft which they then charge me for. I’m honestly starting to believe this is how they make money from people. The other day, I made a payment of £44.44 through PayPal, which is connected to my bank. 1-2weeks later, it bounced back into my account which I didn’t realise until after I’d spent the money. My PayPal went into overdraft because of this, which I was expecting. I cleared my PayPal balance through other means. But now, my bank has took £44.44 again.. even though I’ve paid the balance? I know this issue isn’t regarding PayPal because it’s happened multiple times now with the bank. I even went on live chat about it a couple months ago for someone to try tell me that it was my fault and that’s just “what you’ve spent”, so I worked out all my transactions on the chat to them so they could see for themselves it wasn’t adding up. Absolutely useless, only joined that bank when I was 16 and I’m now 21 and it’s been nothing but a nightmare. I’ll be moving banks as soon as possible, disgusting money grabbers
Yorkshire bank unavailability.
I have a business bank account with Yorkshire bank and have been unable to access it over the weekend. The app on my phone shows an error code.
When I ring the bank, I am told that the department that deals with it is not available until Monday.
This means that I am now losing money and business until this is resolved.
It is now Monday. Spent 1hour and 8 minutes on hold before being cut off!
Starling Bank here I come.
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless. Closed the local branch. Never get through on the phones.
Joke of a company for business banking and I'm paying for this rubbish!!!!
I've been with YB for over 30 years and…
I've been with YB for over 30 years and can honestly say have never been as p'd off with them as over the last 12 months
They do not give a monkeys about their long standing customers, rude on customer services, ignore requests, basically told myselfd what I need to do with my £60k ....
I've not got 1 good thing to say about…
I've not got 1 good thing to say about this bank, I've never known any other bank to operate like this one. They move my money about (from my account) I never know where I am with them, they take money twice, nothing is ever in order, make me go overdrawn by charging me twice or changing the days payments get took, then have the cheek to charge me bank charges for being overdrawn when its their fault. I would recommend that everyone stays well clear of this place
After 30 years loyalty to them read this what I’ve sent to them
Please feel free to call whenever. Also see documents below
You’ll notice I paid the overdraft off with my platinum Barclaycard. £689 whilst you did refund charges and rightly so you have absolutely destroyed my credit reference that’s always been 999 with Experian
I need you too explain this. And I have evidence from HSBC that when the switch was in process they bank transferred £689 to my current account with you Account no.I even called on a Friday 10 days later to be told this payment has been received and is with the switching department who by midnight tonight will process and close your account. Listen to your transcripts please. So I’ve paid £689 twice , I made another payment because you threatened me with a collections letter . I’d never even heard of one . Your latest letter states unauthorised overdraft charge. £20.20 no transactions have been made since March 14th this year. You’ve apparently closed my account. I’ve paid my overdraft twice !!!!
Also can I have a signed copy of a loan I apparently have with you as I paid £250 the other month over the phone. I’m still yet to recieve any loan paperwork confirming what the amount says on my app.
I was paying £197 a month now it’s £250?
Banked with you 30 years but all of a sudden I feel a burden towards you and your influence in my vulnerability has made me not well . I’ve never never not paid. Check my records with you .
Martin Lewis is very interested in your response to me.
Extremely bad experience over the past…
Extremely bad experience over the past 2-3 years. I think Clydesdale bank have overstretched themselves in trying to hide behind the fresh and youthful image of virgin. This bank is a nightmare to deal with when you have an issue.
Stay well away from them. I’m switching ASAP.
Business Bank From Hell
Horrific Customer Service in their Business Department. Seems to have gone downhill over past few months since rebranding from Yorkshire Bank to Virgin Money. The staff and management there don't seem to have clue about how businesses operate and it seems that the faceless senior management don't trust anyone below them to make a decision.
I opened a new bank account elsewhere and Virgin Money rejected the switch because we had a Business Bounce Back Loan with them and that the loan could only accept payments from one of their own accounts. This a complete untruth as I have made several test payments from an outside account successfully into the loan.
Their original web page for Bounce Back Loans made it clear that you could close your current account yet they refuse and have become obstructive,
You call the Complaints Department who say I should be speaking with the Business Department and call the Business Department and the say call the Complaints Department.
Promised call backs NEVER happen. Being put through from one agent to another they never hand over and you have to go through security each time. Had an hour long call the other day and spoke to THREE different people and all took me through security. Moved no further forwards at all in that hour.
These people run business accounts and have no respect at all for their clients time whatsoever.
Senior Management clearly do not allow anyone there to take OWNERSHIP of an issue - Totally Unprofessional.
Equally their complaints managers demonstrate no aptitude to for a moment take look at the customers viewpoint. Equally when you ask for an explanation about certain policies, rather than an explanation you get the response "Its a Business Decision" rather than gaining the customers understanding with a credible explanation.
We have found this to be the Business Bank from Hell
