This is the worst company

This is the worst company! Please don't sign a warranty with this company, they are not trustworthy. I was told to cancel my contract when it was time for renewal. My renewal was October. I was told to call back and cancel between October 1st and October 9th. I called on the 2nd. I was told my policy was canceled and I wouldn't be charged 75.00. I looked at my account this morning and I was charged 75.00. They don't honor their contract. There is always an issue with repairs. Either they can't fix it or they have incompetent people working for them. If they can't repair they will tell you we will only give you half of what the item cost. And if your product is more than 5 years old they will give you 90.00. Please people hear me to not sign a contract with this company! I will contact my bank on Monday to dispute this charge. This has been my worst nightmare!!!! And because I couldn't write a review with zero stars I gave it 1 star. Please know they deserve zero stars!

Over 80 spam calls, a year after cancelling

Avoided using bc it was expensive to get a tech out for minor things, and they didn’t cover common failures like garage door springs failures. I cancelled. For the next year, I was blasted with calls, emails, text messages. I looked over my blocked voicemails ….. 83 VOICEMAILS!!!!!!! No reasonable business does this and expects to get a customer back. This felt like borderline harassment as punishment for cancelling their “service”. Maybe provide value to your customers and they’ll stay. If you decide to use them, read the fine print of what they cover and don’t… and get a new number.

Extremely disappointing experience with…

Extremely disappointing experience with Select Home Warranty.

I am still waiting for a reimbursement check that Select Home Warranty confirmed in writing on September 4, 2026 had already been processed. Their email stated that reimbursement checks could take 14–30 days to arrive. After that timeframe passed, I was told I now have to wait 30 business days—a completely different timeframe than what was originally provided.

I contacted Customer Service, but they were unable to give me a clear answer about where my check is, when it was mailed, or when I will actually receive my money.

I have already filed a BBB complaint and am now considering disputing the charges with my credit card company and pursuing the matter in small claims court if this isn’t resolved.

A company should stand behind its commitments and provide clear answers when it owes a customer money. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Select Home Warranty.

I joined select Home Warranty about 4…

I joined select Home Warranty about 4 months ago. Our dryer went out and I called them Monday .. They said they would have a technician call me within 24 hours. Never happened .. I gave them 2 more days .. No calls .. I called them back. They said they are backed up whatever that means .. They said they will reimburse me to have a technician of my choice to come out and diagnose the problem .. Then after I pay a technician to come out .. Then they state that they have the option to refuse the repair . To get my 100 dollars back, they send me a form .. I have to fill it out .. Send it back to them and then if approved, they send you a check for 100 dollars within 30 days .. What a terrible way to run a business .. They take your money but don't deliver .. I am stopping payments through my bank and requesting a full refund. If they don't give me a full refund, I shall file a complaint with the Insurance commissioner State of Utah, FTC and Attorney General of New Jersey .. I have not been duped like this so badly .. They should have all their licenses revoked and forced to pay their customers back .. So bad! They are supposed to be number one .. They emailed me a letter todays and highlited was a paragraph requesting my feedback on their service. What service? My dryer is still inoperable .. What a joke!

DO NOT get scammed by Select!! Fraud! Scammers!

I have a few properties and I use Select Home warranty for 3 properties and I also use Choice Warranty for the other 3 properties. I pay for a full year full payments. I have had leaks, ac issues, and every time I put a claim in through Select they DECLINE everything. My final straw was this month of September, I had a leak in bathroom, and a leak in my hot water line that is upstairs under tube area. Select DECLINED both claims!! I paid my service fees for absolutely NOTHING, donated service fees and donated a full year payment to Select! It's been 3 weeks to finally get a tech out to look at issue of leakage. Select DECLINE both leaks, saying the leak in bathroom isn't covered due to being a copper pipe so no cutting if pipe behind wall, second leak on hot water line also DECLINED saying since I had to cut a section out of the ceiling to reach line by upstairs tube area, that's considered an "OUTSIDE" pipe, not a living area.... I couldn't believe that was there response. So I'm canceling properties and going with Choice warranty! Select is a fraud, they scam us customers for our hard earned money. They lost a client over $300 repairs! DO NOT give your money to Select!

What A Monumental Disaster

This company is an absolute joke and a scam with my wife and I thus far. We bought a Gold Plan when our oven broke down. They have yet to pay anything and we have called five times since July of 2026.

Each time, we get the runaround. "We did not receive the proper documentation", etc. Each call to them is a new and disgusting exprience.

Save your money with this flakey company.

DO NOT DO IT...NOT WORTH IT

About 50% of the time they didn't dispatch a technician. Then they wouldn't pay for the fix for my AC. I canceled and I am now trying to get a refund. It's been a 48 day saga right now and I cannot get someone on the phone that can tell me anything other than what is scripted. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Select Home Warranty required records…

Select Home Warranty required records of maintenance of our air conditioner unit before working on the unit. They do not do any maintenance with their company! Also, they require, the customer, to pay the repair company, that was sent out, up front. Most warranty companies, you, the customer, pay your warranty company, the up front charge.

DO NOT BUY Select Home Warranty – They Deny Claims, Trap You, and Keep Your Money

I bought Select Home Warranty's 5-year "Platinum Care" plan. It was the worst money I've ever spent.

I filed a claim for my Wolf range. Select sent their own contractor, their technician was incapable of a real diagnosis and just blamed everything on "lack of maintenance" to trigger the maintenance exclusion. It felt like a ready-made excuse to avoid paying.

Then came the trap: I was told to get it repaired myself and submit for reimbursement. I called to request authorization first. They gave me a verbal promise on the phone, but would not put anything in writing, and when I asked for the call recording to prove what was said, they refused to provide it. Guess what happened next? My reimbursement was denied for "unauthorized repair."

When I finally gave up and asked to terminate the contract, they told me I should expect no refund. Their logic: I paid a "discounted" price, and cancellation is calculated at the "non-discounted annual list price." But my contract only shows ONE price — it says nothing about discounted vs. original. And they refused to give me a written breakdown of the calculation. How convenient.

So let's add it up: they don't fix your appliance, they don't let you fix it either, and they don't refund you when you quit. In my opinion, the whole game is rigged.

Save your money. Buy from a company that actually honors its contracts.

Very disappointed with my experience…

Very disappointed with my experience with Select Home Warranty. IT IS FRAUD AND SPAM

I purchased a home warranty expecting reasonable coverage and dependable service. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. When I needed to use the warranty, I encountered significant difficulties with the service process, including [describe the specific issue], and my claim was [denied/delayed/not properly resolved].

I also experienced FRAUDULENT RESOLUTION TEAM. Despite contacting customer service multiple times, I did not receive a satisfactory resolution.

Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that customers carefully review the contract, exclusions, service fees, cancellation terms, and claim-denial provisions before purchasing a policy.

By far the worst home warranty company I've used!

We have had several home warranties with different companies and this is by far the worst one we have ever used. I don't know if it's because we are in Alaska and they don't have enough technicians, but if that is the case, they shouldn't be selling it in Alaska. Our first claim was approved, but they couldn't find anyone to take care of it, so we had to pay out of pocket and they refused reimbursement because it wasn't authorized. Every claim that has been approved hasn't been fixed by them because they have never been able to find a technician. Their fix was ridiculous! They wanted us to schedule the repair and call for approval while they were at the house. That might work if they ever answered the phone in a timely manner, but they don't and every repair company refused to work with a home warranty company. We put in a claim for a leaking pipe on our water heater and were denied, even though the paperwork clearly states it's covered. We called and were told it was being escalated because it should have been approved and we have heard nothing for months on this. There seems to be a constant excuse and I am really regretting my decision to go with Select. We paid for 3 years in advance and have had 3 claims approved that we paid out of pocket for. I'm trying to cancel it so we can get some of our money back, but their customer loyalty dept. never calls back.

I signed up with Select Home Warranty…and it was a mistake

I signed up with Select Home Warranty 09/19/26 however since then I have not been able to sign into their portal. There must be a technical problem well I spoke with to three different people about this problem. Tryone stated he would have their IT department look into the is matter and he would call me back. I have not heard from Tryone so I am now on hold waiting to speak with someone. I have been holding on the phone to speak with someone for 30 minutes. I just want to cancel the policy. They are a fraud.

This transaction appears to be a…

This transaction appears to be a deceptive practice. The warranty terms are misleading, as the coverage is rendered ineffective by extensive exclusions. Upon attempting cancellation, the company imposed a daily charge of $1.51 for the duration of the contract and an additional $75 cancellation fee pursuant to Policy Disclosure No. 13. Furthermore, a $65 fee was assessed for a technician’s diagnostic report that favored the company’s position. I have been informed that a refund will be processing will take 30 business days, yet no confirmation has been provided; the cancellation confirmation email reportedly takes three days to arrive. Given these practices—specifically, the promotion of illusory coverage contradicted by the disclosures—I believe legal action against Select Home Warranty for consumer fraud and misrepresentation may be warranted.
