Self Drive Bahrain has good prices and the booking process is simple, but the deposit process is not transparent. They charged the deposit automatically from my Visa without clearly informing me, and after returning the car I had to wait around 1 month — only to have my refund claim rejected. In the end, the deposit was given back only as credit for future bookings, even though I was told it would be refunded.

Overall, the prices are fair, but the lack of transparency and the difficult deposit/refund process really reduces trust. I’d recommend they communicate deposit rules clearly upfront and make refunds faster and straightforward.

I do not recommend SelfDrive — transparency is key for me.

It was very easy to contact the team and get my car delivered. The representative Mr Gasser was always available to respond to my queries. Car provided is very good condition

Great in the beginning to get your $$$ but if you have any kind of issue they cannot manage it.
The car started giving issues and it was impossible to get hold of any one to help. I would get through to someone and they would either drop the call immediately or put me on hold and then drop. They never returned the call even after promising me they will. I escalated to the manager eventually and experienced the same service.

Just book directly with budget.

I had such a wonderful experience from beginning to end, and the agent Gasser was truly amazing. He was so kind, helpful and attentive, listening to me and having a nice chat without rushing to make a sale. He made me feel welcome. If we had more people like Gasser, customer service would be a breeze. Give him a raise, people! For the rental, I haven’t received it yet, but everything from booking to payment was so seamless and easy, and I did everything on WhatsApp. Brilliant. I’m just amazed.

Self drive is not give good service I am struggling since morning they charge me payment all and not give on time car late many hrs after later car stop working they not reply any complaints like WhatsApp email sending than let 10 hrs not respond

Three days ago, I booked a car on the Self Drive app and paid in full. I paid an additional fee to have the car delivered to my office. At the requested time, nobody showed up. Had a nightmare trying to contact a human - between the apps and the automated WhatsApp channel, no actual information about the car delivery was communicated. Later, I got a call that the car would be delivered the following day. The next day came - no car. Another nightmare round of trying to to speak to a human. Later, another call assuring that the car would be delivered the next day. We are now on day 3 - with no communication. There has been no response to my emails. The call center number rings and rings and rings. There is no response on the WhatsApp channel. I would like a refund, but I cannot get hold of anyone. A very frustrating experience.

Very quick and easy service over the phone. Same day delivery at a good price
