Highly recommended

A fantastic experience with this company. My postal bag arrived the next working day, an email query was answered within an hour, my offer was made less than 24 hours after I posted off my silver, and the money was in my account in a couple of hours. What an efficient service and to be highly recommended.

Happy customer

I seen an advert on social media for unwanted silver. Two broken, small bracelets were lying in a drawer and a damaged thin gold chain. Very little weight in them. I sent them off on friday and was £73.00 better off on tuesday. Fast service and greatcommunication. They check you are happy with the offer. I would recommend.

Refused to confirm their own assessment in writing and became defensive when asked

I sent several items of jewellery to this company after they advertised a postal service for purchasing silver jewellery. The parcel contained four items that had been advertised and stamped as sterling silver (three clearly stamped S925).

After receiving the parcel, they contacted me by text message from a mobile number and offered £6 for the items. I queried the low amount, as the jewellery had been advertised and marked as sterling silver. In response, they stated that only two of the items were sterling silver and that the other two were “costume jewellery”.

Because the items had been advertised and stamped as sterling silver, I asked them to confirm this via a short email from their business address so that I could raise the issue with the Amazon sellers who supplied the jewellery.

They refused to do this and repeatedly stated that they are “not an appraisal service”. While I understand they may not provide formal appraisals, they clearly must perform some form of assessment in order to state that items are or are not sterling silver. All I requested was written confirmation of what they had already told me on something that was not just a random mobile phone number.

Instead of providing this simple confirmation, the company became increasingly defensive in their responses and repeatedly refused to confirm their claim via their official business email address.

They eventually offered to reverse the transaction and return the jewellery if I refunded the £6 they had paid. However, when I agreed to this and asked for the items to be returned so I could refund them upon receipt, they refused and insisted the payment must be returned first. At that point the situation had clearly become a stalemate due to a complete lack of trust.

The main issue here is not the valuation itself, but the extremely poor communication and the refusal to stand behind their own claims in writing from their official business contact details.

Based on this experience, I do not trust this company and would not recommend using their service.

[Edit - Update following company response]

Thank you for responding. However, your reply omits some important context.

After receiving my parcel you offered £6, which I queried because the items had been advertised and marked as sterling silver (three stamped S925). It was only after I questioned the price that you stated two of the items were “costume jewellery”.

At that point I asked if you could simply confirm this via your business email address so that I could raise the issue with the Amazon sellers who supplied the items. This was not a request for a formal appraisal or valuation, only confirmation of what you had already stated.

My initial request for this confirmation was not answered, which is what led me to follow up again more firmly. The request itself remained the same throughout: a short confirmation from your business email address of what you had already told me.

Instead of providing this simple confirmation, the responses I received repeatedly stated that you are “not an appraisal service”. I fully understand that you do not provide formal appraisals, but you had already made a categorical statement that two items were not sterling silver.

You later offered to return the items if I refunded the £6 payment. I agreed to return the payment once the items were returned, but you insisted the payment must be sent first, which resulted in the stalemate mentioned in my review.

My review reflects my experience of the communication and handling of the situation. The issue for me was not the valuation itself, but the refusal to confirm your own statement via your official business contact details and the way the matter was handled once that request was made.

Hi Mel, while we are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with us and we are always happy to receive constructive criticism, we do feel that your review is inaccurate and that your re-telling of events is lacking some key points.

We received your parcel and sent you a price of £6. Your parcel contained two pieces of costume jewellery and two very small silver items. You accepted this price but said that you were disappointed. We replied to let you know that your payment had been sent, and explained that the price was low as most of the items were costume jewellery of very little value.

Your next response was a rather angry message, stating that you purchased the items from Amazon, and that they were described as silver. You insisted that we send you a formal letter, with a description of the items and a confirmation that they were not silver, or you would report us to the police, while accusing us of lying about your jewellery. We explained that we had already confirmed this in writing in your text message and that you accepted the price and were paid. You again threatened to "contact the authorities", if we did not provide evidence with which you could "commence legal proceedings against the Amazon seller".

We offered to return the items if you return the funds, as we no longer felt we would like to do business with you. You declined this offer and insisted that we send the items back, but refused to return the money we had paid for them.

While we understand that it can be disappointing to find that the items you purchased from an online seller are counterfeit. We feel your anger was mis-directed towards us. We did not sell you the counterfeit items, we provided the service we offer; you were sent a price, which you accepted and you were paid within minutes of accepting. We tried to rectify the situation by returning the items, if you returned the payment, but you declined.

I sold a 5g gold bar online using Sellsilverforcash. Their process is undoubtedly most trustworthy, reliable, and speedy. I got the prepaid tracked envelope with clear, easy-to-follow instructions and safe, insured delivery, giving me peace of mind. Within 24 hours, they offered me the price for my item, I accepted it and received the money almost instantly. I am a one happy customer and will definitely come back to use their services in the future.

I came across Sellsilverforcash via a Google search which can often be a bit of a risk, but all I can say is that it was a a very lucky happenstance! Excellent service, quick and easy and a fair price for all items. I would wholeheartedly recommend them if you are looking to sell any jewellery I would have given 10 stars if that was possible! Thanks Kevin and the team 👌

The envelope arrived quickly after I made the enquiry, posted my jewellery items on the Monday and I received a message on the Wednesday with the quote for my items. I was extremely happy with the quote that I accepted straightway and the money was transferred within a couple of hours.
