SENTIA Spirits founder Professor David Nutt has been a pioneering force in psychopharmacology for over thirty years. He has published more then 500 original research papers and 34 books on a wealth of topics in psychiatry, from his early work in sleep studies to his more famous interventions in drug policy and the study of addiction.

Delivery took longer than most companies, and the flavour was not well described on the website. The dominant flavour was licorice, and this was not mentioned.

I liked the herby taste
I liked the herby taste. I took the 25ml with some lemonade and at first I felt a little lightheaded, but then more relaxed. It was a quite different feeling than being intoxicated, if anything I felt more sober than normal in the sense of being deeply focussed and relaxed.

We are sorry to hear that SENTIA did not work for you right now. There could be a number of reasons for this:
Individual variances: Your GABA system is very much your own, and individual chemistry varies from person to person, so the experience of SENTIA will vary too.
Alcohol in system: Regular alcohol drinkers may have a high tolerance to GABA release, which will moderate the SENTIA experience. Studies suggest that you can reset your tolerance to GABA release by refraining from drinking for 2 to 3 weeks.
SSRI’s: (Selective Serotonin Inhibitors) anti-psychotics, tranquillisers and some epileptic medications may inhibit the effects of SENTIA.
Expectations: SENTIA is not designed to get you “drunk”, but offer a more refined experience. All feelings are of course very subjective, and will vary from person to person.
Context: There is a great deal of scientific evidence indicating that drinking (or talking any mind altering substance) alone creates a very different effect from doing so socially. The science suggests the same will be true with SENTIA.
Have you tried any of our other variants? We also have some exciting new products in the works which you might find has a stronger effect. Soon to be launched.

I keep wishing Sentia was more widely known and also available in pubs and restaurants. It’s such a great way to get that warm, relaxed feeling that many use alcohol for, but with none of the drawbacks. Try it - it’s worth it!

I have tried so many alternative non alcholic drinks. They all try to mimic the taste but this mimics the feeling, that was a bit of a shock. I tried red, i'd put it off for ages because of the price but eventually bought some and mixed it with Fever Tree raspberry and rhubarb. The difference is that it doesn't taste like anything you recognise, it's a tart but nice herby, fruity, sharp flavour but has the kick of a gin or vodka. It mimics the sour hit in your mouth and defiantly has the mild felling of a small gin and tonic. I'm interested to try the rest.

Gold - Ideal For All Seasons Cocktails!
See my 20 February 2024 review & read in conjunction with this one.
That review dealt with Red & Black whilst this one focuses on the Gold version.
Since first getting Sentia, I've consumed very little alcohol. That's great news for my health.
What is nice about Gold is that it looks like a cocktail & pretty much tastes like one.
It's fruity, zesty, spicy and ideal mixed with tonic & ice. It would also lend itself to many other cocktail combos.
For me, I've found what I believe to be an ideal partner - a good quality non-alcoholic Prosecco! This also works very nicely with the red.
And, of course, what about "the effect?" Well it's certainly there & I think it maybe stronger with Gold than it is with Red.
I'm looking forward to warm summer days on the lounger in the garden with a Gold (or Red) Prosecco cocktail ready to hand.

Great Customer service, lovely complex tastes
Bought the 3-pack - red, black and gold. Box had been opened before delivery and gold was missing.
Opened a complaint with UPS but Sentia customer service picked up on it and promptly replaced the missing Gold. Brilliant customer service - thank you Joan.
Enjoyed all three complex flavours and will definitely order again. The best substitute for alcohol that I've found.

Life-changing end-of-day substitute for booze
I was bought a bottle of GABA Red for Christmas by a family member, who knew I loved red wine and was really struggling to curb my after-work craving for relaxation. Wine was my weakness and had led to health impacts and terrible weight gain. Since I started drinking GABA Red I would consider it life-changing. We tried it with several different tonic waters, until we landed on Fevertree Rhubarb and Raspberry as being the perfect blend. The Red is a complicated enough flavour and without being too sweet, such that I completely don't crave wine any more. We have one 25ml shot of the Red with 2 tonic cans per night, and like to add a twist of lime. I do find it genuinely relaxing and I find myself feeling lighter-of-spirit after the drink. As a result, in 3 months I can count on one hand the number of nights when I've had either wine, or tried a vodka and tonic. I feel comfortable as a non-drinker now, and it's entirely because of this brilliant drink. The person who bought it for me has actually changed my life.

I purchased two bottles from their website and didn't get a confirmation e-mail which was my e-mail error. The customer service was excellent and they responded from both divisions within a day.
