Further UPDATE!!
Still no response since the last email!! Please escalate this further as per-my email sent on 8th May 2026! The lack of communication falls below the level of service expected!!
UPDATE!! I received the below email and have yet to receive any further correspondence regarding a returns label. Also the item that you say you will send as a replacement is a cheaper version of the original product I bought at £300!! So this is unacceptable under consumer rights act as below.
The replacement you are offering is not like-for-like, as it excludes the original accessories and may result in a mismatched or reduced-value product. This does not place me in the position I was originally in at the point of purchase.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, any replacement provided must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and match the original product in full. A partial replacement that requires me to retain incompatible or used accessories is not compliant with this.
Additionally, requiring me to return the faulty unit and wait without a usable replacement causes further inconvenience, particularly given this is a regularly used item.
To resolve this matter, I require one of the following:
- A full like-for-like replacement, including all original accessories, or
- A full refund of the purchase price

I am sorry to hear that your HD440SLUK has this burning smell.
I understand this causes incovenience, since this product could be used daily.
Rest assured, as I will take all the steps regarding this matter.
Furthermore, I just arranged the replacement of the entire unit in order to resolve this.
Please note, that you will need to keep all the accesories as your replacement HD will not come with them.
The steps to get your replacement hair styler are down below:
Your new order number for the replacement unit is 04400184893. The time frame is 7 working days from the date you return the old one to the date you receive the new one.
You will be emailed a DPD pre-paid return label with the address of the nearest DPD drop-off location. Please return the product in its original box or a box large enough to hold it, and then tape the return label on it.
Please keep in mind that if you have already thrown it away, we will be unable to provide a substitute for it.
Not to worry if you do not have the original one anymore, as you can use any other box for this return. One can be acquired from a local post office, a convenience store, a neighbour, a local recycling centre, etc.
The new unit will be shipped once the package has been inspected at the SharkNinja Warehouse and we have confirmed the receipt of your old unit.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any additional support.

service and product has been burning even on the cool setting for over 3 months but due to health issues I have been in hospital and unable to organise sending the product back. Shark HD440SLUK FLEXSTYLE 5-in-1 Hot air styler and hairdryer. My hair is now left syringed brittle and dry!! Product no longer useable. Product will be returned to store to be returned!! Phoned helpline and it was a waste of time, how anyone could think that this could be fixed over a phone is utterly ludicrous!!

Shoddy product and shoddy service
First device went bang whilst in use which was frightening, then didn't work, tripped house electrics at 6 months in. 3 weeks backwards and forwards to get a replacement. The replacement went bang 2 dsys in, exactly the same. Offered a refund but on the free replacement, so zero refund, now not getting anywhere trying to contact customer services again as this is not a good deal to me... not impressed

Needs a manual
Overall, really pleased with the product. It hoovers and mops, and doesn't leave the floor soaking wet.
My biggest problem is finding out how to use it properly. I spend so much time on the Internet looking at YouTube and trying to work out what's relevant to my actual model.
Please supply a decent manual, whether in print or online!
Shark and Media Markt’s Unacceptable Refund Delay and Evasion
I am writing this to share my extremely frustrating experience regarding the return process of a stick vacuum and an air purifier I purchased from Shark via Media Markt.
I initiated my return request on November 30, 2025, which was the 7th day of purchase and well within the legal return period. Despite this, I have been stalled by both Shark and Media Markt for nearly 5 months. Now, they are claiming they cannot process the refund because "too much time has passed," even though the delay was entirely caused by Shark’s internal mismanagement and poor communication.
The Timeline of the Issue:
I have contacted both companies over 20 times.
Media Markt consistently refused the return, while Shark repeatedly assured me that they would accept it and were coordinating with the retailer.
Following Shark’s specific instructions, I took the products to the Media Markt store twice. Both times, despite Shark’s prior confirmation, Media Markt sent me back, stating they couldn't process the return.
Shark then directed me to an authorized service center (Case Number: CAS23075-F0N8S9). I handed over the products, only for them to be returned to me a few days later without any resolution or refund.
Now, Shark is attempting to close the case by citing the length of time that has elapsed—time that was wasted solely because of their own misleading directions and stalling tactics. The products are currently back in my possession.
Throughout this ordeal, the only "solution" offered was a 10% discount, which is insulting given the circumstances. My demand has been clear since day one: I want a full refund for both the stick vacuum and the air purifier. As a customer who acted within the legal timeframe, I should not be the victim of a breakdown in communication between a manufacturer and a retailer. I expect Shark to take immediate responsibility and resolve this grievance without further delay.

The vacuum works perfectly and even on my tough, old carpets. Only thing is I wish there was an easier way to remove the accumulation of hair from the brush inside the vacuum, as it sometimes manually needs to be removed

“I bought the SharkNinja wireless vacuum cleaner, expecting up to 2 hours of run time. Instead, both batteries only lasted about 30 minutes, even on a low setting. I returned it once, but the replacement had the same problem. While 30 minutes is enough for quick jobs, I’m really disappointed by the misleading advertising. I hope others avoid the same frustration.”

I I ordered a new part for my shark vac which had broken was still under warranty, my experience was exceptional the member of staff that dealt with me via telephone was very pleasant and helpful. Also I received my new part the next morning which was also excellent. Thanks shark ninja for your excellent service.
Outstanding service
I have to comment on the outstanding customer service I have received from Shark recently.
I had a 4 year old vacuum that had issues with the roller and after calling customer service, I was taken through a short troubleshooting effort and a new part was ordered and delivered the following day (Sunday).
Sadly this did not fix the problem, but after another call and full replacement was ordered and again this arrived the following day.
This was an incredibly easy process and Shark were happy to live up to their Warranty promise, something I find is sadly lacking from other firms.
I cannot be more positive about Shark and while most people are happy to write a view criticising firms, few of us shout about when companies do well and that is what I want to do here.
I am now a very loyal Shark consumer.
