Presently, Shaws operates 15 stores in the main provincial towns of Ireland and employs almost 1000 people. Carlow Store

Carlow Store
Approached counter to ask about foundation. Assistant literally pointed to area of shop floor but never even offered help with choosing correct shade etc. Very unhelpful. The second assistant behind counter as I paid was more interested in checking her phone than customers.WILL NEVER SPEND HERE AGAIN.

Staff constantly watching over and following me

The staff are and have been very helpful in the past however recently when I have been in the store and looking at the makeup section there always seems to be a member of staff following me around and watching over me. I thought they would ask if I needed any assistance however they just continued to follow me around and watch everything I was doing which made me feel very uncomfortable. If I was acting suspiciously I might understand but I was simply browsing products and in turn felt as though I was being watched like a thief.

Attitude of the staff

Attitude of the staff. I visited the Athy shop with my family on 19th of feb 2025... The security was behaving very much rude, as if I am there to rob something.... The moment i entered the shop he is behind me.. It was annoying.. So i dropped my plan to shop more and just payed for the minimal stuffs what I picked and i have to leave..

Tis is very annoying.. Please be noted that I own my own house( not social home) and two cars and other expensive gadgets.. Both me and my wife are well earning with reputed jobs.. There is no need to rob any thing from anyone..

So i need to give a an under rating for your shop.. The behaviour from your staff was very much rude.. Hence I am not going to recommend your shop to any of my friends or families anymore. Thankyou

Staff politeness

Staff politeness, ease of returning items, good range of quality items. However no toilets, which is quite important for the elderly - I would have thought there should be toilet access in a department store

Shaws Waterford helping themselves to your cash

Bought underwear in shaws on Monday 2nd February 2026, when I went home I checked the receipt and saw I was charged €42 euro for a bra I hadn’t purchased! I rang the store this morning and was told that they had an IT problem and this has been happening for a while!!! An extra item has been appearing charged to customers and their IT guys were having difficulty sorting it out…I said why were they not telling customers to check their receipts and was told it didn’t happen all the time, ….i went back today Tuesday on my lunch break to get a refund and no problem but no apologies from customer service… I asked for store manager, when I met him he apologised and asked if I got sorted I told him I did but asked if I hadn’t noticed were shaws keeping my €42 he said he had only heard about the problem this morning.. I told him customer service said it was an ongoing issue …. He blamed the staff for not telling him and said basically yes shaws would have kept the money because they wouldn’t have known…..he’s the manager and wants me to believe that he didn’t know until today really!! I’m absolutely speechless…..check your receipts or you could be ripped off by shaws Waterford

Great service

I had to report a faulty item I had bought online at Shaws Department store's before Christmas. I put off emailing Shaws as I did not need the inconvenience of it so close to Christmas. However, my experience was the total opposite to inconvenient. I emailed Shaws late Tuesday evening. The
matter was sorted on Wednesday without any hassle or inconvenience on my behalf apart from writing a brief email.
This is how business should be carried out if it is to be a success.
Thank you to Andrea in particular who assisted in my case.
Deeply appreciated.

Shaws, Crescent in Limerick. poor sales assistants

I was in Shaws ladies department in the Crescent in Limerick paying for goods . At the check out 2 female assistants discussed their breaks the entire time. Very vocally about who had or hadnt got a break. Their discussion slowed the sales process so much that after a min I remarked that nothing was coming up on the tap machine which momenterally drew the clerks attention back to me. It was unprofession service and Id hate to think it was a regular event. Maybe I got them on a bad day ??? But Shaws do better.

I am delighted with the items I got this is my second time order from shaws quick and easy and delivered in less than two days I would recommend them to anyone who wants to buy online close I was lucky because there was discount on all the items which is great
