Good product, self-assembly not thought through

The chair itself is good, however it lacked instructions for self-assembly. Assembly was straightforward enough, however it turned out there was a small orange cap that needed to be removed from the gas strut, which I didn't see. Once assembled, it was very hard to reverse and as a result, the lift up-down function was not working. So it required a service appointment and a week's wait to get this fixed. The service overall was good, it's just a shame that such a trivial thing resulted in a service appointment and a lot of time wasted, when it could have been prevented with a simple instruction during assembly (or even a 'REMOVE' tag on the cap itself).

I had a Leap V2 from 2016 and went to…

I had a Leap V2 from 2016 and went to purchase a new one. Unfortunately they have slightly changed the model between the 2016 v2 and the 2024 version which is not quite as comfortable. They have increased the height of the backrest a bit and reduced the lumbar support.
It feels like it's pushing me forward a bit compared to the 2016 model that’s seen years of use.
It could be because of the firmer back padding and it might resolve itself in time.
It might be like breaking in a new pair of Leather shoes, but time will tell.

Product fault, poor service

Product fault, lacking vital assembly instructions, customer support unorganised and keeps making changes to arrangements. has been over several weeks and still no resolution. The product seems okay minus the fault would not recommend

Has been over a month and still not…

Has been over a month and still not received product. Very little communication by both courier and Steelcase.

We apologise for the delay, our logistics partner is still investigating this consignment directly with the courier. We have been checking on this daily, but they have not been able to tell us where the parcel is at the present moment, but they have not confirmed that it is lost. As soon as we hear something definitive from our logistics partner we will update you and work on the next course of action. I know this is frustrating, and we have raised this issue with our couriers to ensure that we are able to do better going forward.

Purchased the Leap and the chair arrived just after a week. Minimal assembly required. Satisfied with the experience overall.

Excellent chair and sevice

Customer service was fantastic and quickly resolved any issues. Chair is extremely durable, comfortable and stylish. A must have for anyone that spends long periods at the computer during work or while gaming.

Product delivered with defective seat…

Product delivered with defective seat cushion. Still waiting for replacement at 3 weeks.
No assembly instructions provided so had to go find them.

Great customer support

Great customer support. Item was out of stock but they gave me multiple options of how to proceed. I chose to wait for the item to come in and it did within the timeframe provided. Item is of great quality and will happily buy from Steelcase again.

The salesperson in the Sydney showroom…

The salesperson in the Sydney showroom misrepresented to me that the Gesture chair is made in the US.

I asked him specifically before I purchased - “is this chair made in the US?”, to which he replied “yes”.

After I received my delivery, I discovered it was Made in Malaysia.

I am currently in dispute with Steelcase and they do not reply my emails anymore.

They have offered a full refund, but remain unclear if my delivery / pick up fee will be refunded.

Nothing wrong with Made in Malaysia, but I feel like I was deceived at the point of sale.

The chair is great and I am willing to keep it if Steelcase offers something as an apology.

Went to the Steelcase store in Sydney…

Went to the Steelcase store in Sydney CBD. Customer service staff member who served me with the appointment was very helpful and courteous. As was the senior who patiently assisted with the gift vouchers I had to process.

In store service was good and lady…

In store service was good and lady allowed me try many chairs, online had different experience. At this time of delivery experience, not having a status of where the chair is at is not acceptable. 10 days to get from Melbourne to Sydney? then it was delivered un-announced and only told on the day. Was delivered to wrong address, had to deal with the shipping company to sort it out, called Steelcase to sort it out also but they never called me back to say how did I receive it or anything, so service kinda sucks.

Purchase was good

Purchase was good, shipping was slow and poorly communicated sitting at the dept for 5 days before being delivered. Box was heavily damaged however item was fine.
