I highly recommend Simple Servers to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly hosting company.
I have been involved in web design for over 15 years now and have experienced various server companies over this time.
I decided to us Simple Servers a few years ago as I wanted a more reliable company for some of my larger and more technically challenging clients. I chose them based on their pricing but more importantly for their support.
They have consistently helped and supported me and my business since I started using them and continue to do so now.

Fast, secure and dependable hosting.
I've been using Simple Servers for a couple of years now for a Magento installation which is the centre of my business. They aren't the cheapest hosting out there but, having used some of the cheaper ones, that's not a bad thing. You pay for what you get, and what I pay each month gets me a fast, secure and dependable server which is geared towards Magento, with staff who understand the platform.
If it was a hobby wordpress blog or a throwaway html site I'd go elsewhere and pay peanuts, but the installation I have with Simple Servers is critical to my business, which is my livelihood.

Good service but server not lightning fast
Service is fine. But I was expecting a really great server and much faster server than my current digital ocean cloud. I used pingdom from multiple locations and it was about 10 percent slower than digital ocean. I won't be renewing but if you are in the market for a managed Magento installation then it might be worth giving them a try.

Hi S, thank you for your review. The plan you have with us is on a shared account and therefore would have less resources available than a cloud server. Cloud servers are dedicated resources where as a shared plan works on a first come first served basis. We would suggest using our cloud as an accurate benchmark.

Let us down when needed
We have been with Simple servers for over three years and over that time have needed little assistance until the last 24 hours.
In the diagnosis they were average then after we asked for a simple restore from the day before it has taken them now over five hours and counting. When asking for updates they are slow and must be constantly prompted and don’t provide any time estimates.
I had to open another ticket for them to look at the first for example.
You cannot call them and must rely on a ticketing system so if they don’t respond to your tickets you’re in the dark as we are now.

Constant issues with the website not …
Constant issues with the website not loading and emails not working. When we moved to simple servers part of the reason was as they offered telephone support, but then after moving we find there is no telephone support. Having to pay £85 per hour on numerous occasions to get our website and emulsion working. Just last week and again today they are asking for more payments to fix issues. They do tell us what to do fix fix problems but it's too technical for us. Unfortunately we just aren't getting the support and issues are generally weekly with simple servers.

Hi Dean, Sorry to see your review. I have checked your previous tickets and can see you have a cloud server on an unmanaged basis, this means we expect you to have some understanding of the server environment and to manage it yourself. From the ticket thread we see your disk has filled on a number of occasions causing issues with various parts of your site. As you have a cloud server you can easily add more disk space for £0.50 per GB a month or you can search in SSH what files are using the space and remove them if possible. If our replies are too technical you should consider moving to a managed server where we will keep an eye on all of this for you and fix after consulting with you.

The best of a great bunch
