Established in 2019, Skills for Jobs (SfJ) was setup to provide specialist training courses for people wishing to start or develop their career within the Security or Hospitality sectors. We’re an approved Security Industry Authority (SIA) training provider, we are quality assured, and approved under Trident / Laser Learning Awards and the Institute of Conflict Management (ICM), which together means the training you receive on our courses is second to none. With a combined operational experience of over 200 years between our training team, we don’t just talk the talk! You will only receive the very best, up to date, knowledge, skills and training, ensuring you’re both properly prepared for any course exams, and for your actual role. The operational experience of our trainers brings the content of our courses to life, providing you with real life examples and realistic scenarios that you may encounter in your role. One major advantage of using real-world experienced trainers is, they can deliver course content from the prospective and understanding of somebody who has actually done the job, rather than someone who has just read the book. Skills For Jobs takes the responsibility of delivering appropriate and realistic training very seriously. This is evidenced through the development and approval of our own Physical Intervention training system ‘Shield PI’, quality assured by the Institute of Conflict Management (ICM) and approved by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for delivery as part of the Door Supervisor SIA licence linked training (Module 4 at Level 2). We’re pleased to boast, due to the high standards of our training, it’s recognised SfJ generally produces a higher level of candidate. As such, we work in association with a number of local and national employment agencies who recognise our expertise, and regularly frequent our courses as guests, speaking with learners regarding employment opportunities available with them. They are eager to interview anyone who has completed their training through Skills For Jobs.

Excellent course - SIA SG - Refresher 2025
Attended the SIA Security Guarding refresher course on 19th November. Booked online and promptly received all information needed in a concise and easy to read format. The online training was of the highest standard, especially the videos. The in person section was friendly and professionally delivered. Can't recommend highly enough.
My experience with Rob Knowls’ SIA…
My experience with Rob Knowls’ SIA training in Bournemouth was one of the most distressing and disheartening training experiences I have ever had. I left the course feeling humiliated, unsupported, and genuinely shocked by the way some people were treated.
Throughout the course, I witnessed behaviour from Rob that, in my opinion, created a hostile and intimidating learning environment—especially toward learners whose first language was not English. There were moments where people were spoken to in ways that felt mocking or belittling in front of the entire group. Watching adults trying their best being laughed at or treated with sarcasm was incredibly upsetting. No one who pays for a professional qualification should be made to feel ashamed simply for trying to learn.
At the same time, in my view, certain English-speaking learners received noticeably more patience, guidance, and even one-to-one support. The contrast was uncomfortable and created an uneven, unfair atmosphere that made many of us feel completely discouraged.
As a woman, I also found some of the comments directed at female learners deeply inappropriate. In my opinion, the remarks about women’s size, strength, or ability were humiliating and completely unnecessary. Instead of being encouraged, some women were made to feel judged, embarrassed, or incapable—an awful feeling, especially in a course meant to build confidence and prepare people for work in security.
Financially, the experience was equally upsetting. After paying a substantial amount of money, I expected professionalism, respect, and proper support. Instead, concerns were dismissed, people were laughed at, and when learners struggled, I felt they were openly blamed rather than helped. I later heard from other men and women in Bournemouth who described similar treatment, which made me even more frustrated that this kind of behaviour is still happening.
Based on my own experience, I personally believe that the concerns raised by multiple students are serious enough that an outside authority should look into them. I am not making any legal claims—this is simply my personal opinion—but I genuinely feel that the pattern of behaviour I witnessed was troubling enough that the police or relevant regulatory bodies should be aware of what many learners have reported experiencing.
In my view, the course was run with very little professionalism, fairness, or respect for the people paying to be there. I cannot recommend Rob Knowls’ training to anyone based on what I personally saw and went through, and I sincerely hope that no future learner has to feel the way I did.
Your sincerely
Door supervisor

Great trainer, great people and fun atmosphere.
SIA Level 2 Door Supervision Training
Considering the large amount of content that you have understand to pass this course. The way it was delivered was both engaging and in layman’s terms. Judging from talking to other people they also were very impressed with the knowledge I’ve gained from training with Skill for Jobs Ltd.
Awesome instructors
I recently completed a course with Skills for Jobs, and I can confidently say it was one of the most outstanding training experiences I've had.
Both instructors, Allan and Rob, demonstrated exceptional pedagogical ability. Their teaching style is inclusive, adaptive, and clearly geared towards getting the very best out of every student, regardless of background or learning preference. They draw on a deep understanding of not just instructional technique, but also the psychological foundations of learning — including the importance of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and the quiet, often overlooked elements that truly unlock student potential.
As an instructor myself, I’m incredibly particular about who I allow to train me — and these two absolutely knocked it out of the park. Their delivery was clear, their coaching was intuitive, and the learning environment they created was both supportive and professional.
If you're looking for training that’s engaging, effective, and delivered by people who genuinely care about your growth, I highly recommend Skills for Jobs. Allan and Rob set the standard
