Just completed the SIA Level 2 DS course and I can genuinely state that it was a great training experience from start to finish, where you can feel confident that you've been trained to the best standard by both Rob/Alan and know you've truly earned your certificates at the end of the course.

Rob also provides superb email/phone communication throughout the course and even helps to put you in touch with potential employers at the end of the course too, which I found extremely helpful.

I recently completed the door security course held by Rob and Allan both are fun to be around which is always a good thing however they take your learning seriously. They have actually knowledge of working in the industry rather than knowledge from a book so you know you can trust what they tell you. I would highly recommend them

What an experience. I attended the level 2 CCTV course which was presented by Allen who is not your normal lecturer.
He is dynamic, knowledgeable and passionate about what he does with many years experience behind him. He made the learning experience an engaging partnership between the student and himself and definitely not a text book lecturer.

I recently attended the Level 2 Door Supervisor Course in Bournemouth from the 3rd to the 8th of March, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The instructors brought a wealth of experience and delivered the content to very high standards.

My trainer Rob Knowles was absolutely super and delivered a first class course from start to finish. Rob is very passionate about the industry and has a vast knowledge of the Security business. Highly recommend skills for jobs for your training needs. The first aid which was taken by Allan he made it so easy and simple with his knowledge in the field. Alan Price and Rob Knowles are highly knowledgeable instructors,in six they I learned more about private security industry then I ever thought or imagined.

When I started training with Skills for Jobs, I was brand new to the private security sector, unsure and even a bit worried about how I’d manage. But the experience was absolutely enthralling. Allan (aka “Papa Al”) and Rob led our training with a unique blend of patience and intensity. They didn’t just go through the motions—they brought each lesson to life, using stories from everyday situations to make even complex topics easy to grasp.

Allan and Rob were incredibly patient, making sure that everyone was comfortable and understood the material before moving forward. No one was left on the tarmac, even if some of us took a little longer to grasp certain concepts. They made training feel like a real-world game, where every activity was building my skills and confidence. By the end, I not only passed my exam but also felt fully prepared to step into the field with panache.

Skills for Jobs went beyond typical training, equipping us with both knowledge and the right mindset to succeed. Those six days were intense but full of insight, and I found myself going over lessons at home to absorb everything fully. (And now, I’m pretty sure I won’t be wearing my “g-strings” at work!)

The training company is exceptionally well organised. The instructors' knowledge and expertise were clearly evident, and they were always willing to help. I participated in the 6-day DS course, which was quite intense and packed with information, especially since I had minimal prior experience. I believe that extending the course with additional learning days would greatly benefit students. Nevertheless, we successfully completed the course and are excited to move forward.

In my 15 years in the security industry, I have always used skills for jobs for my qualifications, I recently attended their top up and CCTV courses, an excellent team of tutors, all with an unmatched wealth of knowledge! Alan and Rob were always patience in making sure we got things right and even went above and beyond for every paticipant to feel relaxed in the learning environment for maximum learning experience. The greatest thing I observed was that, the experience was learner centered and learning was fun. I enjoyed every moment at the training while being confident.

The re-sit I had in the door supervision course was a total shock and embarrassment to me. However, it was actually necessary in a way to wake me up from under playing the seriousness of the programme.

The training team were superb and very good in their game. We had memorable time listening to them and learning the skills in a professional manner.
