Overall Skip The Dishes have been a failure at their core business service model.

Overall Skip The Dishes have been getting worse. Either deliver is extremely late, food cold, issue with driver (who by the way was driving a bicycle in the winter to deliver and had a flat) missing items or bad customer service. To top it off, their business model i think is failing.

I've been using Skip for some time now, and i have had a number of issues with them. At one time we would receive a call from someone if they knew something was happening with a delivery, but now you would be hard pressed to even have someone call you, never mind the fact that you can't find a phone number to the helpline. Everything is done via chat, and you get mixed people who sometimes are helpful and others who are just rude or quite frankly lie to you.

My most recent experience (yesterday - 10/27/2019).
My wife and I ordered pasta and received a notice from Skip at 7:56pm that "Your order has been placed". On placing the order there was no notice that it would take longer or any extra time for the restaurant to prepare the order. Plus the restaurant has their own delivery team.

At 9:00pm (roughly) i find it unusual that we did not receive the food yet. I call the restaurant and ask about my order, and provide the delivery address, the person says "there is no order for your address that i received from Skip". I tell him that i will contact Skip.

At 9:19pm (roughly) I open a support chat with Skip as i cannot find a phone number to their helpline. I wait almost 10 minutes before i get a person. I explain to the person that i placed the order at 7:56pm, spoke to the restaurant at around 9:00pm and i was told they did not receive an order from you. I also ask if i can get a phone number to their helpline.After waiting for this person to review and finally give me an update it is 9:40pm, he ignores my request for a phone number and states "We have checked the status of your order, your order, your courier is in transit to your place so that to deliver your food".

I call the restaurant and the same person answers. I request if an order has been placed for my address and again he says no, and no delivery person is on his/her way to deliver.

Update Skip customer service at 9:42pm that i spoke to the restaurant and there is still no order and no delivery taking place. I wait until 9:48pm, and it looks like the person left the chat. (Sent myself a transcript of the entire chat).

At 9:49pm i open a new chat with support, and a different person responds in 7 minutes. I explain the situation with the new rep, give him the order number, delivery address etc... It is now 10:11pm and he says he is going to contact the restaurant. 10 minutes later, he responds at 10:20pm and tells me "I have called the restaurant and they claim that this order was not received by them." "Since we show an order but they do not, we will have to cancel this order and you will have to reorder."

I request a full refund and not a credit, which this person refunds me the full amount, but mentions nothing on any type of compensation. So i ask about it. In the end, their "processing team" gives me $7 of Skip Credits. It is now 10:32pm and i have no food, refund (supposed to hit my card in 3-5 business days, and $7 credits.

While i credit the second person on support to give me some actual help, overall their business model, compensation and general food delivery service is severely lacking. I honestly can't believe, as well, that there is no phone number on their site anywhere for a helpline or contact info.

It is very hard to believe that a company, where their prime business is to delivery food to people from any restaurant on their list can't actually 1) be responsible for their service, 2) compensate appropriately for their responsibility, 3) Better contact info for a escalations.

In my opinion, this company is a failure at their core business service model, and it hard to believe this company is still in business.

I only used skip twice before I was…

I only used skip twice before I was hacked. Apparently they save your credit card info and some guy charged over $150 of food to my card in one night. I contacted skip BEFORE the food was even delivered (I used the track order) so they could cancel the order but they refused to help and told me to call my credit card. They could have prevented this but chose not to. Poor customer service.

Got my account hacked and an order…

Got my account hacked and an order placed for delivery at a location 2 hours from my house, and customer service won't do a thing. They told me I'd have someone contact me in 24-48 hours, and it has now been 2 days and nothing. They keep denying there's an issue but there's tons of accounts being hacked and they are doing nothing about it.
Needless to say, will never use this service again.

Account Hacked

If I could give no stars I would. My account got hacked for a total of $150. I noticed this cause I received 2 emails confirming my orders going to 2 different addresses (interestingly both orders were identical). I was able to get into my account and delete all credit cards stored and deleted the addresses and change the info back to my info before it was all changed. I changed my password. I chatted with STD through the app and basically they said they could do nothing and to contact me back. So right now all my cards and accounts have been frozen until this gets resolved. I will not be using them again.

Account got hacked

Account got hacked. Hacker changed the login email so we no longer have access. Contacted customer support the instant the banking alert came through for over $230 of food. STD can't remove the credit card from the account, they can't freeze the account from being used, and they suggested I get my bank to freeze my credit card while "someone from the proper team" looks into it. That is after they suggested I reset my password three different times. I kept telling them that the email address keeps coming back as "no account associated with this email address".
Save yourself the headaches and hours on hold with your bank and sitting in front of your computer on the customer "support" chat line and Skip using Skip The Dishes.

Ive also been a target of this. Seems like skip has done nothing about making this information public. This information has not been told to anyone, so literally no one knows they have had a massive data breach. Super disgusting business move and I hope it costs them.

I had my bank account emptied and left with less than 1$. I am a student and am awaiting student loans to come through. My bank notified me it could take 3-10 days for a refund pending an investigation.

This is ridiculous and Skip the dishes fails to take responsibility for their actions OR offer any compensation regarding this matter. Have to e-mail them to get any response, anyone over the phone is super useless and says there is nothing they can do from their end so just wait for an e-mail.

Removed all info from the app after having to literally wait for them top MANUALLY reset my account because it was completely taken over.

Huge data breaches should be made public so every user can do something about protecting themselves. Clearly skip lacks responsibility and a company like that does not deserve to be trusted ever again.

I don't expect much to come of it.
I spoke with a person on the phone she did not fill me with confidence, wait and see I guess.
To bad, I have always had good delivery service from them.

Terrible customer support

Terrible customer support. William did not provide any information I asked for, such as a managers contact email. William restated the same statement "I understand your concerns" when I was not expressing any concerns but asking for contact information and steps to reimburse my money after my account got hacked. Over $550 was taken out of my account with no help or response to aid in the process of reimbursement. I cannot log into my account, and they cannot even reset my passcode. William was dismissive and not willing to help a loyal customer.

Does anyone have a phone number for customer service? Or has dealt with the same problem and can help me get through to this company other than the terrible livechat customer support?

Have ordered many times from STD twice…

Have ordered many times from STD twice now driver has failed to deliver no attempt to buzz door or phone asking for directions and yet both times the app said order delivered.I am totally annoyed with customer service reps stating you need to be more dilligent and be available incase driver needs to contact you.I think waiting at home for buzzer to ring or phone is doing my part.If I could rate zero I would yes money refunded but still does not make an empty tummy feel any better. SKIP THE DISHES you need to improve your service or get out of the business.

Would give zero if I could

Would give zero if I could. Ordered food at 9 pm, order picked up from restaurant at 10 pm ( a few min earlier to 10 pm), courier Gagan goes offline with order, unable to track until 10:45, contacted Skip, they could not trace the driver....suggested I re-order. I told them restaurant closed now, they suggested I order from McDonald 😡
They promptly said they would refund the money which gets me to think this is anot an isolated incident. Last time I ordered from Skip, the first courier (same name if I recall right) disappeared. Had to reorder and got my food after 2.5 hrs from a restaurant 15 min away.
If you see Gagan is bringing your order (in Surrey, BC), dont wait...just cancel and order from another company. You may have to stay hungry otherwise.
Gagan is probably enjoying the free dinner I ordered.
Never going to use Skip again and as a business, will not partner with them if this is what my potential customers will face.

Have used STD for over a year

Have used STD for over a year, but then my account was hacked. They had to have my STD account, because that it the only one I know that also stores the CVV number for the credit card. The only way I know is that I got an email for an order placed in Montreal for $96. I live in Calgary, and the card was still with us here in Calgary. I was reimbursed by my financial instution as they found it was indeed fraud. I had STD delete that account and set up a new one, where I will not store any of my cards on their site. Now however none of my credit/debit cards work on their site, and I have had 3 BS excuses for this so far. The last one was my Financial institutions were blocking this transaction, but I called all of them and none of them are blocking these transactions.

SOB's, FRAUD ARTISTS, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Ordered first time, order never showed up, app said it did. Contacted "Chat, Customer Support" said they'd credit back my credit card but it will take up to 3 to 5 business days! Fing BA$TARDS!

The Best of the Delivery Services

Out of Skip, Uber Eats and Door Dash, Skip the Dishes is the best.
I'd say 80%+ are problem free. Some problems with drivers getting seemingly lost. What sets them apart is that you can live chat with someone when there is a problem.One thing I don't understand about some of the other reviews regarding problems with the order itself, The restaurant is responsible for packing the order, drivers don't check the bags. Some of these issues are on the restaurant.

Reliable and good customer service

We use them a fair bit and only the occasional order is wrong or missing something and when I contact them, they often give us a $5-$7 credit even if the mistake was the restaurant’s. With the ridiculous service fee charged by another similar service now, we’ll only be using Skip from now on. I just hope more restaurants and locations will be added.
