Left me with a £30,000 problem!

We bought our first listed building in July 2025. I employed David to do the level 3 survey because he specialised in heritage buildings, had good reviews and I wanted the best because I was nervous about owning an old house. Unfortunately, he missed a crack in a wall above a culvert and now without any evidence says it is not his responsibility because it must have been covered in ivy. There is no survey record to support this and an estate agent photo shows a nearby section of the wall without ivy. I now have to fund the repair myself and engage solicitors to try and get my money back. Not the support I was expecting from a highly rated specialist surveyor whose job it was to protect my interests and prevent exactly this sort of situation from occurring. You have been warned.

Highly recommended

This is the second time we’ve used the services of this company, which provided us with a comprehensive historic house survey on an unusual house we are proposing to buy. The invaluable survey content was delivered in an informative and accessible way, which has increased our confidence to proceed the purchase. A very professional company.
