Sobey's flyer stated flank steak on…

Sobey's flyer stated flank steak on sale this week starting last Thurs. I went in Thurs, Fri, sat and Sunday no flank steak. Hadn't come in. I phoned store today and again told me it had not come in and no idea if it was. Asked if raincheck available and said I would have to ask manager? Certainly not 1st time sale items not available.

Thriftys Port Moody weekly flyer…

Thriftys Port Moody weekly flyer offered uber $60 credit for $50 but did not have cards available. Two seperate attempts on two consecutive days were made at the customer service desk. A rain check was also rejected. Its a violation of Sobeys code of ethics “truth in advertising”.

I would like to bring to your attention…

I would like to bring to your attention an unpleasant incident that occurred during my shopping visit to the Sobeys Waterloo location on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at around 5:00 PM. While shopping in the store, I came across a product in the toilet paper section that was marked with a price of 5.99 CAD, which I found to be a discounted price. I added this item to my shopping cart. After completing my shopping, I proceeded to the checkout, where I noticed that the product was scanned at 19.99 CAD instead of the 5.99 CAD price. I informed the cashier about the discrepancy, and a staff member came over to assist. Together, we went to the aisle where I had found the product, and I took a photo of the shelf tag and product. The staff member mentioned that there were new employees and suggested it was a mistake, assuring me that they would look into it before leaving. After this interaction, I returned to the checkout to complete my purchase. Shortly thereafter, a staff member named Rob, with the ID number 1981, approached me. Unfortunately, Rob spoke to me in a disrespectful manner. I showed him the photo of the shelf tag and the product, but he stubbornly dismissed it, suggesting that the price tag might have been tampered with by someone else. As a customer, I feel it is unreasonable for me to be blamed for this, especially given that I have been a loyal shopper at Sobeys for many years. What was particularly upsetting was the rude and condescending way I was treated by Rob. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy. I believe that respect and kindness are fundamental aspects of any interaction, both in business and in society. This experience left me deeply disappointed, especially as a regular customer who has never encountered such behavior before. For your reference, I am attaching a photo of the product and shelf tag, as well as the receipt for the other items I purchased. I sincerely hope this issue is addressed, and I would appreciate a prompt response regarding how you plan to handle this situation. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sobeys gives you the runaround

This is a review of Sobeys pharmacy - Henderson Hwy. Winnipeg. After being able to obtain a certain brand of letrizole (Accord) for almost 4 years, they have suddenly changed the brand to APO brand for a very short time and now to Nat brand. They seem to have little to no regard for the side effects I might have as these brands of letrozole "might be the same" but probably have different fillers! As there are many different brands I'm wondering what the next brand of letrozole I will be given! ☹️

Misleading practice, leads to eating on a wing and a prayer

Misleading practice. Sobeys FRESH. They had chicken wings priced at $12.98 but expiring so they mark the wings as "special Offer" and drop the price to $7.30 without acknowledging the best before date was TODAY. Other expiring meat are marked "enjoy tonight" because they expire today and are 50% off. The wings are on their last day and marked down 44% but not upfront about why.

Wormy Haddock Fish at Sobeys here's some more.

Today, June 18th, 2024, I bought my groceries at Sobeys in New Minas. I bought some haddock on sale for $7.80, a little over $23 per kg. When I went to cook the haddock, I noticed something moving on top of it. Upon closer inspection, I saw that there was a worm moving around on the fish and it was still alive. I took a picture and video of the worm, which was about 4 to 5 cm long when stretched out.

I drove back to Sobeys tonight, costing me time and gas money.

When I arrived, I asked for a manager. There were two department managers on duty at the time, a lady and an East Indian man.

I told them I would like a refund for the wormy fish and a $50 gift card for selling me fish with worms and for my time and effort in reporting it.

The East Indian man said there was nothing he could do other than take the fish back and give me some more, most likely wormy fish, or my $7.80. I said that was not enough compensation for almost eating a fish with worms in it.

I asked for someone who could provide better compensation, but both "managers" said there was nothing they could do. So I asked them to get someone who could help. The East Indian man called someone and then came back with the same response.

I had to leave with the wormy fish because he wanted the fish with the worms back if he gave me my $7.80 back.

The East Indian manager also said it was common to find worms in fish, but later in the conversation, he claimed there had never been any fish returned for having worms. I was under the impression that they are supposed to ensure there are no tapeworms or other parasites in their fish. I asked the East Indian manager if there were worms in anything else they sell at Sobeys, and he said he didn't know.

In my 49 years, I have never bought haddock with live worms in it.

Disgusting advertisement to trick people

Today we went in early to Sobeys to get lobsters that were on sale for father’s day. There were lots on display but they were labeled sold out? What happened to first come first serve? Don’t frustrate people off by advertising and physically displaying your product but not allowing them to buy it. Write in big bold letters to “reserve your lobsters days in advance,” that you operate like a restaurant, so no one wastes their time going into your stores. This is a disgusting way to trick people to enter your stores in hopes they will pick up something else too along the way.

Website is useless

Website is useless. If you want to know whether they have an item in stock and at what price, you search the website and you get only articles. If you select "products" for your search, say, "frozen pizza", you get "no results". This is so basic for a company that sells products and so pathetic that they have not figured this out. I shop at the competitor because they have a functional website that does not waste my time.

Sobeys sells Greenhouse Berries…

Sobeys sells Greenhouse Berries strawberries fro Nature Fresh Farms, Canada. Bought them instead of Driscolls Mexican grown strawberries. Washed them at got home. Dirtiest berries I have ever encountered. The water came off black. A few rinses until the water ran clean. They weren't actually quite ripe and after wash were obviously moldy. No location where they were grown or by who. DIsgusting. I know if I see the name Nature Fresh Farms on anything I will not buy. ME

Well it seems the cashiers are talking…

I will start out with I spend $750 on Soby's gift cards then I spent $168 on groceries .Well it seems the cashiers are talking a little bit to people now and they smile a little bit I don't know if it's forced or not though. I bought some Beets It said on the sign $3.49 they charged me $3.99 I bought two bags normally when something goes through at a higher price than it costs they give it to you for free as long as it's under $10 she said no and then she spoke with another cashier and she said no . Only if it's on sale so she says so I don't know. Anywhere else it would have been free. So entotal l spent $918.00 and they would not give me a free bag of overpriced beets wrong price items free $3.50 how many people paid $3.99 and didn't know it. I gave them the knowledge so they could fix the pricing they probably had no intentions of correcting it . They have their priorities wrong. I guess I'm going to have to go back to spend the gift cards and then I'm probably done

Sobeys, No Respect!

I stopped in at Sobeys Lakeland Ridge to pickup ONE item. The quality of the fruit was dismal so I didn't purchase any. On my way out, I stopped at the Lottery booth but it was taking too long for the lottery I was interested in to show up on the screen so I left. Actually, I TRIED to leave but this big guy stands in the middle of the aisle and stops me. ✋🏼🤚🏼 I told him I didn't buy anything and instead of asking if I was able to find everything I was looking for he asks, "can I look in your bag?" I said of course and opened it. Since I didn't lie and I don't steal there wasn't anything in my bag for him to see except for my wallet and the mail I picked up before I started my walk so he waved me on. When I got home I looked in the mirror but nobody suspicious looked back so I don't know why Sobways would accuse me of stealing!🧕🏻

Real geniuses at work, at this location

Location: Sobeys Glendale & Merritt

I shop here (literally) almost everyday. I like to buy beer from them because they're close to my home. They sell the Jumbo cans of Molson Dry for $3.00/can. What really strikes me as odd, is they have a dedicated section in their refrigeration unit for Molson Dry, but it's never stocked! So, they have the electricity running for their commercial fridge, but the section for Molson Dry is always empty. Instead, they keep their Molson Dry Jumbo cans outside, at room temperature. What's the point of this buggery?
