Healthcare is confusing, exhausting, and nearly impossible to navigate. Solace provides you with an advocate—covered by insurance—who takes on the toughest parts of the system, so you don’t have to do it alone. Solace advocates find doctors, keep providers coordinated, fix insurance issues, and handle the endless paperwork that gets in the way of care. We’ll pair you with a dedicated advocate who supports you one-on-one for as long as you need help. Our advocates bring an average of 16 years of experience, and they’ve already helped over 200,000 patients and families nationwide. Solace is covered by Original Medicare and many Medicare advantage plans. You’ll never  pay anything beyond your standard deductible or coinsurance. Most patients pay $0 or a small amount per month. All it takes to get started is a quick intake call. One of our licensed physicians will get to know your healthcare challenges and pair you with an advocate who’s the right fit for your care.

nearly ghosted, then actually ghosted, after tech issues that worsened symptoms

TL:DR; nearly ghosted, tech issues that worsened symptoms, then actually ghosted.

I made an appointment, very eager for support and help managing a lot of care. When I first signed on at the scheduled time, there was a 5 minute countdown, insinuating the provider would be 5 minutes late. After that time passed, a message said they were coming, but with no estimate of how long. Because there had been a previous countdown, the change made me suspect no one was going to actually arrive. This created a lot of frustration, confusion, and anxiety going into the appointment. I waited for over 30 minutes and was just about to hang up the video call when she finally signed in. I think there must be a better way. At least give people a heads up they may be waiting 30 minutes or more and haven’t just been ghosted.

Once she joined the call, we had tech issues. My camera and mic permissions were a problem, so she had to call me and tell me to use Chrome. I do not use Google products for privacy reasons, and don’t have this installed. Since I was already flustered and couldn’t concentrate on trying to deal with installing a new browser when the appointment was already running so far behind, I just used a different browser (I think Firefox). Then I couldn’t join because I had previously joined in the first browser, so she had to change some settings so I could finally join the call and be seen and heard.

However, the entire appointment, both my and her videos were flickering and flashing. There were already so many issues and delays, I just explained to her this was happening why I would be mostly looking away, and asked we just continue since it was nearly 40 minutes past my scheduled time and we were just getting starting. It was a relatively short appointment going over my (extensive) history, but I was distracted and the flickering video started to cause nausea and triggered my visual snow syndrome which lasted for about an hour after the visit.

The doctor herself was attentive and lovely and reassuring about the help an advocate could provide. I explained that because of my limitations and demands in my life that make phone calls hard, I find email or portal messages easiest to communicate, and she assured me this would be no problem.

Shortly after the visit, I got an email from Solace asking for my schedule to set up an appointment with an advocate. I responded with my schedule and the openings I had available. 2 days later I had heard nothing, but my schedule had changed by then, so I sent a follow up email with the changes and expressing I was motivated to get this scheduled soon.

It’s now been 10 days since my intake appointment and the only email I’ve gotten about scheduling with an advocate. The whole reason I am in need of this type of service is that I don’t have to capacity to be constantly calling around and trying to get a response from offices and businesses. I’m deeply disappointed. Don’t promise help to vulnerable people who are already exploited and abandoned and victims of broken systems.

Megan my contact is wonderful

Megan my contact is wonderful, a 10 for sure. The problem with the system. Megan can't give me full attention, when she has 9 clients in total. I feel that Solace is trying to maximize their profits by over scheduling other clients, pulling Megan away from my issues!

I've been mostly bedridden for 13 months with no wen ND in sight m and no real diagnosis. It's not a constant return to health, but more up and down. Woth no improvement for a year, even 10 minutes of a little more energy and a little less pain is huge!
