Terrible
Terrible! I was tricked into ordering an extra set of solar lights on the payment stage, I thought I was getting a discount on what I ordered but was actually getting a discount on a duplicate order. When I realised this I immediately ( within minutes) tried to cancel order but could not. When item was delivered it was nothing like adverts and I wanted a refund. I paid for return registered postage ( to Bulgaria) , this was in February and the item has not yet been cleared by the company thru customs, so I am still waiting ( now nearly in June) for a refund! Whenever I try to contact company I get in a loop that goes nowhere. Really poor and avoid at all costs if you have any problems!
Very difficult to unpack and deploy.
Delivery from China took far too long at 3 weeks. Around the same time, I had an item shipped from the USA to my door in 7 days in comparison.
Tracking is encouraged via a dodgy Shop App that attempts to collect far too much personal data - don't load it !
Email response is then patchy and from someone in China called John Smith ... really :(
The outdoor string fairy lights, are spooled at their factory, for their convenience, not yours. Its a 2 man job to carefully unpick the cables, because they are so thin and easily kink. The first one became a rats nest of wiring and we had to scrap it. The lights come with a plastic ground spike, but these lights are so delicate, you are never going to mount them that way. I had to drill the spike to mount the solar collector on a fence.
Once I managed to get the lights mounted, you have no way to know how may flashing modes there are untill dark ...
They look OK now they are up, (hence the 2 star review) but I wouldn't order these again.
Bought one of their expensive solar…
Bought one of their expensive solar lights. It does not work. Spent months sending them photos and videos then they suddenly announced as the light was months old they would do nothing. Their site clearly states a 3 year guarantee so this is nothing but a con. Do not buy from them. I am going to take legal action as this light was over £100
Do not buy from these people!
I bought 4 garden lights from these people in November but didn't put them out until earlier this month as it was winter and there wasn't much sunshine around! 3 worked but the other didn't. I contacted them and did everything they asked: sent a video as a photo wasn't acceptable of the light not working (in amongst those that were), tried switching it on and off several times etc. They then claimed that the lights had been bought over 12 months ago (false) and that the picture showed wear and tear (also false). They have repeatedly addressed me as someone else, accepted that they lied about the 12 months and offered me a small discount if I buy more of their potentially malfunctioning lights. The final insult is that they want me to send the whole package back to Bulgaria at my own cost and with every single bit of packaging, wrapping, instructions etc. Buy from them at your peril!

Purchased a solar light from this company, excellent communication through the whole buying process.
Took a little while to arrive though.
Defective, Unusable Product, Scam Return Policy
I ordered 2 Picture Glow- picture lights Dec 11, 2024 and received them Jan 9, 2025. One of the lights was defective. I sent an email Jan 12 requesting a refund and attached a photo showing the light was set crooked on the mounting bracket and consequently cannot sit level on the wall. There was no damage to the shipping package, clearly a production issue. No action response. I sent a 2nd email Jan 28 requesting action. Feb 11 they told me "you just need to adjust the lamp with your hand." The photos clearly showed this was an impossible and unreasonable solution. No action from them. Several emails exchanged. To my April 1 email they replied "As a resolution, we’d like to offer you a 30% partial refund for the affected light. This way, you can keep and use the light at a discounted price while avoiding the hassle of returning it." Since a crooked wall mounted picture light is useless, I declined, and asked for a shipping label to return the product for a full refund. They instructed me to return the item to an address in Bulgaria for refund and in the email included the statement, "Please note that, as per our return policy, we can only issue a return label if the product is broken, damaged, or incorrect." On April 8 and 18 I requested a return label, which they did not send. I was not paying the $30 shipping cost from Canada to Bulgaria for a refund I could not trust I would receive in full. On April 18 they replied. "We’ve provided all the necessary information and outlined the available options. At this stage, we are unable to offer a refund or cover the return shipping cost under the circumstances described." A clear violation of their return policy. No evidence they intended to accept responsibility for sending a defective product.
Delivery (from China) took 2 weeks.
Delivery (from China) took 2 weeks.
Received regular email updates on progress and could see the Tracking.
Quality OK but not as good as I had expected for the price.
But the lights do work as described.
Refund not given
I purchased chandelier lights from them, specifying the colour I want. They sent the wrong colour, so I sent it back requesting for a refund. It has since been over 3 months, John Smith answered, but afterward gave me the run around. Do not purchase from them, they are scammers at the best.
Staysure: my insurer of choice.
My past experience of insurers is less than good. Then I bought a policy from Staysure and had to make a claim which was settled promptly.
How refreshing to find such service.
Avoid this company!
I order a light that was around £200 from their website around 3 weeks ago. I kept emailing John Smith asking for a delivery update. He kept saying the courier could not find my address. Then finally got a reply saying that it was royal mail delivering the item. After reading other reviews I am not hopeful the product will be any good when it arrives. Definitely spend your money elsewhere
Dropshipping crap products for high…
Dropshipping crap products for high prices = scam. I wish the owners of such a 'business' nothing but pure misery. I hope they cannot sleep at night.
Solar Energy Lighting are a scam…
Solar Energy Lighting are a scam company, coupled to all of there advertising which is totally false. I bought a solar lamp on 4th January 2025 it eventually arrived as it was a typical outside lighting unit. We were pleased with the unit so we ordered another on 2nd March, they took the payment on my Barclaycard and provided me with an order acknowledgement, but since then they have totally disappeared. The do send out a standard emails to anyone, but now you can now see its a scam.
Unfortunately this is a scam company
Unfortunately this is a scam company. They sent something (eventually) that was entirely different to what I purchased. They will not refund my money, respond to emails or help in anyway. The most they do is ask me to re explain the issue every time and then don’t respond again until the next time I follow up. They clearly are looking to have me get bored and write off the £100+ that they have acquired under false pretences.
This started in November 2024 and is still on going 5 months later. Do not use
AVOID! Faulty lights and non-existent customer service
AVOID! I bought 2x 150W solar floodlights with remotes in mid January. Both arrived with batteries for the remotes that had corroded/exploded in their packaging. The internal batteries in the lights were clearly flat & despite charging in bright sunlight for several days, one light does not turn on at all, one turns itself on & goes flat in a very short time and isn't even as bright as a 4W bulb when they are supposed to be 150W! It is now March and has now been over a month since I contacted them for a refund and they keep tossing the ball down the road asking for videos of them not working. I send a video in & 3 weeks later they ask for another video. Have started payment dispute with Amex as clearly they are never going to refund me for faulty lights!
They are extremely good a lying to your credit card provider too - the report they have sent to Amex is completely different to the emails that have been sent & they have conveniently snipped the email chain to support their argument & not the fact that the lights were faulty and UK regulations stipulate they have to offer a refund if faulty!! Astonishing!
Outdoor solar light ripoff
Ordered a sturdy looking outdoor solar light and received something very small, cheap and ineffective. Have been trying to return and get a refund for months - as indeed advertised and offered on their website - only to receive evasive replies from 'John Smith' and 'Nenad'. Every excuse why they won't do this....requiring photos and then videos. Total scammers and not a UK company - AVOID AT ALL COST!
Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company! They are not British . I ordered x2 wall lights on 18th of January they are still not here and it’s the 18th of February. Hardly any response to emails . They are a Chinese company not uk ! Wish I’d read the reviews first .
Stay well clear they took my money then…
Stay well clear they took my money then said delivery delayed as they have moved ! Still no light . Scammers !
Chinese Rubbish Buy British Instead
Do not waste your money with this company. I ordered a solar powered light from them. It took 4 weeks to arrive from China and was completely useless. Their customer services were completly un-responsive. I then bought a similar item from a local company and it worked perfectly. Dont put your money into the Chinese economy. Buy British!
