Avoid

This is the worst online shopping experience I’ve ever had. Glasses never arrive, emails never get replies, and money doesn’t get refunded. This shop just never should have been opened. Very disappointing customer service — sorry, I meant no customer service at all.

No Delivery, No Tracking and No Refund - Despite the “All Orders Dispatched” Claim

On 9 August 2026, I placed an order for eclipse glasses and paid an additional £9.95 for Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm. The merchant advertised that next-day orders would arrive by 1pm and that the final order cut-off time was 11pm on 10 August 2026. The solar eclipse took place on 12 August 2026.

By 11 August, I had received no dispatch confirmation or tracking information. I contacted the seller by email, Facebook and Instagram, and formally cancelled the order before any evidence of dispatch was provided. I received only an automated response. Nothing arrived by the deadline, and at 1:03pm on 12 August my order was still marked “Processing”.

What concerns me most is the inconsistency in the seller’s public statements. On 11 August 2026, the seller initially announced on Facebook that “all orders” had been dispatched and that the last next-day delivery orders would arrive by 1pm on Wednesday 12 August 2026. The following day, the seller acknowledged that it had not been able to fulfil every order and said that refunds would be issued for orders that had not been dispatched. This announcement was made during the final three hours before the solar eclipse began. Interestingly, she also admitted on BBC Sounds on 12 August 2026 that only 70–80% of all orders had been fulfilled, meaning that 20–30% had not been fulfilled.

As of 14 August, I have received no goods, refund or individual response from the seller. I raised a retailer dispute with my bank, which has now opened a chargeback and provisionally credited the full order amount to my account. The money currently returned to me came through my bank’s dispute process, not from the seller.

My advice is - if your goods have not arrived and the seller has not refunded you, do not rely indefinitely on a general promise of a future refund—contact your bank promptly and ask about raising a card dispute or chargeback.

We have to protect our interests. This company ruined the solar eclipse experience and disappointed many people like me, especially children who were unable to see and enjoy such a spectacular event. Therefore, we cannot expect a dishonest and disgraceful seller to refund the money automatically. We learned that the seller knew she could not fulfil all orders but still claimed that all orders would arrive, which amounted to a misrepresentation made in circumstances of which seller was aware.

We were looking for solar glasses to…

We were looking for solar glasses to arrive on time before the eclipse, which is a very time and sensitive very important event. We ordered the glasses in time with special delivery next day by 1pm payment, to arrive with a safety net time in case of delay before the vent date. Payment been taken on ordering, and the when it was suppose to arrive, nothing was delivered, and no tracking number or any update. I have tried sending various messages and emails, even on instagram, with the only auto reply to all of it mentioning that they are very busy packing orders and will be delivered as promised, and not to contact them again until after the event!! alarm bells started to sink in, and felt that this maybe a con! we've managed to source the glasses some where else which was not an easy task at all, and I have sent an email requesting full refund with the postage cost as well, as the goods were not delivered as advised and advertised according to consumer act 2015. Very disappointed and will hope that they will honour their mistakes and not been transparent and honest and make the refund, We will not be ordering from them again and advise others to be aware as from reading the reviews a lot of people experienced the same disappointment.

One of the worst experiences I've had with a company

I am incredibly disappointed with how Sollunae handled this. The failure to fulfil my order was bad enough, but it was the repeated reassurances, contradictory information and failure to be transparent with customers until it was far too late that made this experience so unacceptable.

I ordered 10 solar eclipse glasses on Sunday night, paying almost £35 in total, including £9.95 for next-day delivery guaranteed by 1pm. These were obviously an extremely time-sensitive purchase.

When I became concerned about whether my order would arrive, I contacted Amy directly on Instagram. I was personally reassured that I would receive my glasses in time.

Sollunae then made a public announcement stating in capital letters:

“WE HAVE DISPATCHED ALL ORDERS.”

The same announcement stated that the final next-day deliveries would arrive by Wednesday at 1pm.

So I trusted what I had been told. I believed my order had been dispatched and was on its way.
It hadn't arrived by Wednesday at 1pm. In fact, it didn't arrive at all.

Then, only after customers had spent Wednesday desperately waiting for orders they had been explicitly told were already on their way, Sollunae acknowledged that they had received more orders than they were capable of fulfilling and “could not get to every order.”

They subsequently said refunds would be issued for orders that had not been dispatched.

I find that completely unacceptable.
You cannot tell customers ALL orders have been dispatched and then subsequently acknowledge that some orders had not been dispatched at all. Those two statements simply cannot both be true.

What frustrates me most is that we could have done something about it had we been given accurate information in time. If I had been told on Tuesday that my order hadn't been fulfilled, I could have tried to find eclipse glasses somewhere else. Instead, I had personally been reassured that mine would arrive and then saw the company's public announcement stating that every order had been dispatched. I therefore spent Wednesday waiting for a parcel I had every reason to believe was coming.

By the time customers were finally told that not every order had actually been sent, it was too late. The eclipse was happening that evening. This wasn't an ordinary product where a parcel arriving a few days late was a minor inconvenience. The entire purpose of the product disappeared once the event was over.

Sollunae has since stated that customers whose orders weren't dispatched will receive refunds. However, after everything that happened, I no longer have any trust in this company or its assurances. Thankfully, I contacted my bank and have already received my money back through a chargeback.

I completely appreciate that a small business can become overwhelmed by unprecedented demand. I would have had considerably more sympathy if customers had simply been told: “We've received more orders than we can fulfil and unfortunately yours may not be dispatched.” That would have been disappointing, but at least it would have been honest and given us an opportunity to make alternative arrangements.

Instead, I was personally reassured my glasses would arrive, customers were publicly told that all orders had been dispatched, and only when it was effectively too late were we told that this wasn't actually the case.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a company. I would not order from Sollunae again.

Order not delivered despite guaranteed delivery

I placed an order on Sunday evening after seeing an absolute guarantee on this company's website and social media channels that items would arrive in time for the solar eclipse on Wednesday. Their official statement explicitly promised that any orders placed before 11:00 PM on Monday would arrive on time.

Today is Wednesday - the day of the eclipse - and the items have not arrived. On Tuesday, the business explicitly stated on their social media channels that all orders had been dispatched. Today, after seeing a massive backlash on social media from numerous other customers who had not received their orders, the company put out a new statement backtracking on their previous claim, and deleted the old one about all orders having been dispatched. They admitted that not all orders were actually dispatched and are now attempting to shift the blame onto courier delays and unprecedented order volumes. Throughout this entire ordeal, there has been a complete lack of proactive communication from the company, adding significantly to the perceived dishonesty.

To highlight just how misleading this business continues to be, it is currently 4:00 PM on Wednesday - 3 hours after the guaranteed 1:00 PM delivery time and during the actual event - and their website still actively displays the following text:

"** LAST DELIVERY DATES **
Due to some delays with Royal Mail we are now only offering:
Royal Mail Special Guaranteed Delivery by 1pm
LAST ORDERS:
11.00pm on August 10th
Royal Mail Special Guaranteed Delivery by 1pm
Order today to avoid disappointment!"

It is clear to me that they knowingly accepted orders they could not realistically fulfill just to secure the revenue, and they cannot even be bothered to update their website to reflect reality. Had they been honest about their capacity or shipping constraints from the start, I would have had the opportunity to source these essential items elsewhere. The only reason I chose them was because their shipping options were a guaranteed 1pm next day, whereas the competitor I was considering offered next business day for the same price instead. Maybe some things are too good to be true.
The deception, disorganisation and radio silence have left me and my family without any options for a once-in-a-lifetime event. I am deeply disappointed and will never trust or buy from this business again and discourage others strongly to do so.
