The class was pretty good, I would have liked a little more hands on practice during the initial demonstration to help retain the instructions, but in general a good class, great facilities!

It was great!

I enjoyed the food theme and the food. It was supposed to be a hands on experience and I wish we had more of an opportunity to do that

Need to give more free shipping

This is the first time I ordered online. I love your coffee even though it's pricey. But I had trouble with the coupon codes. I tried several times and it wouldn't take it but then the last time it did take but it didn't apply the free shipping. $14 for shipping is a lot.

We take pride in ensuring our guest's satisfaction, and as a small business Southern Season strives to offer fair shipping rates that enables us to continue offer our large assortment of gifts, coffees and specialty foods to everyone. Please also note that any third-party online coupon sites are not maintained by Southern Season and those codes are rarely if ever valid on our website. We apologize for any confusion this may have created in your online shopping experience. We value your business and thank you for choosing Southern Season.

Love Southern Season - Online Ordering needs improvement.

We ordered a lovely Carolina-based gift basket to be delivered express delivery for nearly $40 extra. Other online stores offer 1-2 day express delivery from the time of order. It was not evident from the beginning (poorly placed messaging on the website) that the express delivery option meant that it would be shipped *after* the basket would be prepared, and this meant not on a Saturday or Sunday. This caused us to need to cancel our order, which was being delivered to a guest staying in a hotel at the time, and need to re-order to be delivered to a new location, albeit later than we wanted to. One other detail: the credit card entry method was outdated and did not work with a business expense card I often use on other online ordering platforms. I had to use a personal card. We love A Southern Season's products, but wish the online ordering system was more up-to-date.

Southern Season biscuit class

The class was great, and my son and I learned a lot; however, it was a bit disorganized. There weren't enough stations for everyone to be able to participate in the hands-on activities.

Had a bad customer service experience that they eventually made right.

Originally I rated them one star. Had a bad customer service experience and could not get it resolved to my satisfaction. So I gave up on ever being satisfied and gave them a one star rating. After my one star rating, my issue got addressed by higher ups and was made right. But I should not have had to go through so much trouble to resolve my issue. Had it been resolved from the outset I would be giving them 5 stars.
They do need to train and empower their people to take steps to ensure customer satisfaction. And fix their web site so that if you are ordering on line, you are informed of the anticipated delivery date before you pay for your order, as is the case with most on line merchants. Currently you have to search for that information.

Not enough hands on coming opportunity

My 9 year old daughter attended a cooking class this past weekend. The facilities were lovely, and the teachers warm and kind. My daughter was, however, frustrated by the lack of actual cooking she got to do. Would have enjoyed more individual work, rather than making a class dish, which was mostly cooked by the teachers and then divided for all to try.

Thank you for your kind words about our facilities, instructors and learning opportunities. Our hands-on classes have recently expanded from 12 seats to 16 seats, and, as you noted, we're still working out the kinks. Your feedback is so important to us, so we have shared your review with our Cooking School team.

Having just released our new Cooking School schedule, we are sure they will work in future classes to ensure that your daughter, and other children, will continue to have an opportunity to both learn and participate. Thank you for choosing Southern Season!

Love Southern Seasons

I have loved, and, shopped at Southern Seasons since 1975. The atmosphere was very HAPPY; a delicious surprise on every shelf. I regularly bought wine at Southern Seasons because the Somlier was a huge help with the impressive selection. I have always been pleased with my orders, and, so have the recipients❤️

Now, I have lived in Colorado for many years & nothing compares!!!

Gift basket ordering

I have been a long-time customer of Southern Season (since they were in Eastgate) but we moved away from NC 5 years ago due to a job relocation. I like to give Southern Season baskets for special occasions and in the past they had a great selection. For this most recent purchase the basket I wanted to send was out of stock, but I ordered it anyway since there was no rush to have it sent immediately. Customer service called and notified me that the item was out of stock and could not state when it would be available again. Therefore, I replaced the gift basket with another one at a similar price. I also had trouble with the website with my initial purchase, since NO e-mail confirmation was sent. Only after talking to Customer Service, did I receive an e-mail. I also am a Premier card holder and my discount and free shipping was not applied to this order. Overall, the gift basket selection online is limited and using the Premier card online does not work. For the future, I will stick with just purchasing items at the store when I am back in Chapel Hill (once a year). I love Southern Season, but since online purchasing is less satisfactory it makes sense to do only in-store purchases.

The online ordering system is hopelessly designed and not functional.

Your online ordering system is hopelessly designed and not functional. For the 5th year in a row, I tried to spend about $4,000 sending gifts to 20+ people in my address book. I managed to send to 4 and was ejected from your system (not the first time). Upon reentering, I found the orders in "suspense" and was not sure that the transaction was completed for 2 weeks. I gave up and turned to Harry & David

A long-time customer

Always love to send gifts to friends and family from A Southern Season.
I was a little bit disappointed about how many items were sold out in late Dec. and early Jan.
