The company is run by the ex legal counsel for Cupid plc (remember them, they were part of a BBC investigation into scam dating sites that used fake profiles of women to lure unsuspecting men into subscribing).
Therefore, it is no surprise that Laura Edison is also conducting the scam at SpeedDater.co.uk a brand of NSI (HOLDINGS) LTD.
Whatever you do, if you want to go to a singles event, sign up and pay over the telephone... or be very sensible and don't go at all and use one of the very honest dating sites that don't scam you.

Judging by other people’s comments I wasn’t the only one.
When you sign up to an event, on the last page when you say ‘buy’ there is small writing that says “sign up to a month for free”. This is something that is designed to be easily missed when purchasing the event. The default option is yes when it should be no. There is no mention that you will be charged after the so called ‘free’ month.
After a month I found a mysterious charge of £25 on my card. Apparently this was for the subscription service that I signed up for. I got absolutely nothing out of this subscription service and they refused to refund me my money.
Another thing to note is that their no match guarantee is also a scam. The credit you get is on the sales price but when you use the credit it is on the full price so you never get the full credit since all their events are on sale.

Went to an event, which wasn't great. Loads of women, not many men and the men got in cheaper than the women! (How's that fair?)
When you go to an event, you HAVE to sign up on their site to see who you "match" with, but what they don't tell you is that it's an ongoing membership/subscription service - with a recurring fee! The site does not have enough members on it, like Match for example, to constitute having such a high membership fee (£24.99). In fact, they don't really offer anything for the fee really IMO.
So, they took my money without me realising. I then had to argue with them to get a refund, as opposed to a "credit on my account", which given the service and experience I'd already seen, I absolutely didn't want. If I hadn't have checked my bank account, I would've been none the wiser as to them taking my money without permission.
There are better dating sites out there, which are FREE! This is not one I would recommend at all.
